C. Wilson was born Celeste Harris in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. Growing up she always wanted to major in Journalism to one day become a News Anchor. Like most teenagers, she briefly lost sight of her true passion. At the youthful age of 19 she lost her mother. When all felt at lost, a light shown through the stormy gray clouds. At the age of 20 she was headed down the path towards motherhood. On a warm spring day her first child was welcomed into the world. A prince that would one day be handed the crown and become King. At 21, she married her high school sweetheart and focused more on her writing. In just a matter of seven months she wrote her very first work of art: Truth is Stranger than Fiction. Throughout her life she may have lost sight of her true passion for writing but she never lost love for it. What's next for Celeste Wilson? Being a full time mother, a full time wife, a full time working woman and a full time author. Expect Book appearances, conferences, public appearances and of course, more urban fiction novels.
Summer has been battling an illness for two years, and after learning it’s terminal, she heads to Miami with her friends to make the most of the time she has left. There she meets Bentley, and what starts as a one-night stand quickly becomes so much more.
Watching Bentley fall for Summer, knowing the truth she was carrying, was heartbreaking. But it was Summer’s letters to her loved ones and the promise she kept to Lexus that completely shattered me. This story is a beautiful reminder to cherish the people you love while you still can.
This was my first C. Wilson book, and it definitely won’t be my last.

This book gave heat, heart, and healing all in one summer. A Summer in Miami is more than just a steamy romance — it’s a story about emotional walls, vulnerability, and choosing love even when it feels risky.
Bentley is the kind of MMC that will test your patience and steal your heart at the same time. Watching him go from guarded and controlled to emotionally open and intentional was incredibly satisfying. His growth felt earned, not rushed, and made the ending hit even harder.
The Miami setting adds the perfect vibe — sun-soaked days, late nights, and that feeling of something life-changing happening when you least expect it. The chemistry is undeniable, the tension is delicious, and the emotional payoff is worth every page.
If you love:
🔥 slow-burn tension
💔 emotionally guarded MMCs
❤️ character growth + HEA
🌴 vacation romance vibes
…this one belongs on your TBR immediately.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Highly recommend for romance readers who want steam with substance.
This book was one of the best standalone novels I have ever read! The storyline flowed so smoothly that I was finished and disappointed that it was over in what felt like minutes. This was a great love story not just the love of a man and woman, but the love of family and friends that were family too. Summer’s personality wasn’t some complex person with a lot of issues, she came across as just a regular person that suffered from an illness that has claimed so many. Great read, great job and should come with tissue because tears will be shed.
Whew, I cried myself to sleep last night, just to get up today to finish this story. With tears in my eyes, I writing this review.
My emotions are everywhere, because I can sympathize with everyone one of the characters.
I can understand why Summer, did what she did. So many factors play apart of coming to turns of an illness, but to have a time limit given, got to be horrific.
Summer was brave and Bentley was all she needed and more the short amount of time she was here in earth.
Omg, C. Wilson this story hit home for me, I watched my best friend health declined due to cancer leukemia to be exact, you bought out all the emotions that someone goes through when they watch someone they love health decline. Ms. Carol was amazing I understood everything she went through she is so strong and amazing I'm so happy that Bentley and Summer got a chance to experience what real love is and those letter Summer left was very heartfelt beautiful story I love it!!!
This is my second book by this author, and wow, I'm so impressed with her writing. Her stories are just fabulous, and the characters are so well-developed. Bentley and Summer's story is just wonderful. I felt a bit heavy-hearted at first, but as I got into the story and saw all the love around Summer, and how Bentley stepped up, it was just amazing, and the author handled it so beautifully.
I can't wait to read more from this author. It's an absolute pleasure reading your books! 🥰
There is no way possible this author dug into a bag of emotions and made us feel every single one of them while reading this book. Like what!!!! So good.
Bent was such a great guy. Although he didn't deserve such short lived fling it seemed like a dose of peace for him.
I loved his family and I loved how the author got this story so right. Please read it. And grab tissue.
This was an ok book. Definitely a tear jerker. I couldn't imagine being either main character and having to deal with what's happening. It's not a bad story at all, but the reason for 3 stars is because it didn't feel very cohesive at the beginning. It was hard for me to get into. That may be bc of the lack of build up in the MCs relationship. And I did find myself skipping over parts that were repetitive or wordy. However, once it got started I was all in. Good job!
I enjoy this book! It was a page turner for sure and very emotional, had me crying from the first page. I was really rooting for Summer and I’m glad she was able to enjoy the loved Bentley show her. I was really disappointed in Savannah behavior, I get she was upset but she didn’t have to do all that at. Ms. Cora is a very strong woman and applaud her for her strength.
This book hit me right in my feelings. Summer was dealing with some life changing news and decided now was the time to live it up and in walks Bentley. Their love story was unconventional but beautiful. Her friends group did indeed remind me of the show Girlfriends. Now her BFF Samantha was so wrong for how she did her and Jahira should've been allowed to dog walk her. Overall and emotional read that had me teary eyed. New to me author but I will be back in her catalog.
I had read the sample of this book. I was excited to have the complete book. It was very emotional read. Summer seem a little self since she didn’t get to enjoy her finale time since she hadn’t told them of her situation. I still enjoyed the book it was a great read……Never disappointed with this author…
This book was an emotional read for me. I couldn’t stop crying and I wasn’t ready for it to end. Summer was such a joy and I felt like I had known her in real life. It broke my heart at the end but I definitely recommend this book. I’m literally in tears doing this review. I didn’t want this book to end.
I choose a 5star rating for this book on character development, how it paints a picture like I can really see Grandmother over the skillet of hot grease with the biscuits and the love that u can feel as you read the book. I felt all kinds of emotions while reading this book. Definitely a hit for the end of summer.
Man I'm still crying as I write this review. I am going thru something that I haven't told anyone as of yet.. It hits home like a motha $%*#@. Yes I shredded with her do not saying anything at the time she found out. If you remember she describes everyone in the beginning of the book,so therefore we already knew they could not hatdle it. Great job
This was my first book by this author and I must say she ha gained a reader for life. This book had me crying like a baby. Summer and Bentley had a love so real that u felt it. Samatha was selfish. Mrs Carol was the epitome of a strong woman. This book broke the strongest person job well done book well written
This read has me very emotional. The story is well written and has me all in my feelings. The main character shows so much strength as her journey comes to an end. The same strength as her mother. To find true love before her time end and the way the author wrote her journey was so realistic. A great read that definitely added to my list of great writers.
I absolutely love this storyline .it wasn't what I was expecting but it ended well I'm happy that summer let her guards down and embraced love I'm also loving the way her friends loved and accepted her illness this book has brought clarity to a terminal illness this is a new to me author and I'm sure gonna check out het other releases AWESOME JOB!!!!!!
I loved this book it was a standalone quick read and it flowed easily. I liked the character build up even though it was quick read the storyline vwas so genuine and heartfelt none of us know how much time w e have here or how we would react in the main situation. With everything going on in the world it's a very believable and beautiful story
This Novel had me in so much emotions from the start to finished. Summer is a good person and a great friend to Samantha. Samantha is truly a piece of work. But when Bentley came into Summer life and showed her Real Love everything took off from there. Definitely a Great Read.
A story of living the the life your given the best way you can. Summer finds friendship, love, happiness, and peace in last days of summer. Her Summer fling turns into love from a real man. Bentley learns to open his heart after the ruins of failed relationship. A Summer in Miami will give you all the feels and have you appreciating the life you’re given.
Loved the bond the ladies had with each other, Mrs. Carol was one of the strongest women cause baby I couldn’t handle what she had to go through with her husband and daughter 😢 Bentley, my heart hurt for him I just knew a HEA was in their future, but don’t always work like that..it had me in my feelings but I enjoyed this story.
OMG this was a very emotional story, but I loved it. I’m glad Summer and Bent met each other. I’m a very emotional person so yes I shed tears. I was really hoping there would have been a miracle for Summer and her Bent would have lived happily ever after. I really cried when she died.
Ummm, I get it but then again it’s like meh. I understand every book doesn’t have a happy ending, but she didn’t tell her friends she was dying. I felt like that was extremely selfish. It was definitely selfish considering that the mom took care of her dad and she didn’t even try to fight so that her mom wouldn’t have to go through it again.
I thought this book was cool. I felt like the author kind of skipped all over the place, which made it hard to believe the chemistry between the two. But it also just felt like a story the author needed to tell. It was really last days of a woman’s life.
I didn’t like the orange font. All those additional POVs weren’t necessary.
Rarely does a book take me on a ride like this. I felt like I knew Summer personally—the tears were very real. It’s a beautiful, devastating story that highlights why we need to check on our strong friends. It’s the kind of read that makes you want to live life to the fullest. I’m happy I read it, but I’m also totally destroyed.
i knew i was in for a emotional ride... but it still hurt i was hoping for some fairy princess to come in and save summer.. but thats not life and now im sitting up at 6;45 in the morning crying. and god this. book was written so poorly but im so sad to see summer go. and it hurt that even in her last moments her and her bestfriend ended off poorly. im just so hurt....
This book had a lot of grammatical errors, but it wasn’t hard to get through the book. Summer and Bentley’s love story was a short one but it was very sweet. This book had me smiling and crying. I’m talking about silent crying. I can’t stand Samantha from chapter 1 until the last chapter. So selfish!!
Omg omg You had me crying, snot all over my shirt, this book was so loving wow, wonderful all this crying gave me an headache. Summer and Bent💜💜💜 Great novel. Congrats to you thanks for a good read💜💜
