The Breaking Point

Rate this book
He promised me he’d never leave; I didn’t believe him and took him for granted. This time, did I go too far?

For the first time in my life, I found a man who understands and loves me, flaws and all. If I know one thing for certain, it’s that Caleb Washington won’t give up on me, no matter how much I try to push him away. I’ve given him every reason to leave, especially with my latest mistake.

Now I’m left dealing with the consequences of my behavior, picking up the pieces of my life one-by-one, wondering where I go from here. Where we go from here.

I’m not sure we have what it takes to go the distance when it feels like it’s blow after blow knocking the wind out of the sails of our relationship.

Will this finally be the time he leaves me for good or will this be our saving grace? Do we have what it takes to weather this storm or has it reached its breaking point?

cheating
December 11, 2021
Hero has been devoted to heroine for the last five years. They get into an argument and she leaves to meet up with OM. She ended up cheating on H because "her head is too fucked up". I do not tolerate cheating on either side especially when the other has been devoted and faithful the whole time. She didn't deserve the Hero, he was too good for her. She had major issues and she brought him down with her because he really loved her. If rated, H would get 5 stars, h would get negative infinity.

I wanted to throw my iPad about three chapters into this book. Not because it was a bad story at all, but because I was THAT angry at Natalie and THAT stunned by the events that start her and Caleb’s story off for us. This author hasn’t let me down yet, though, so I read on (and saved myself a lot of money in repairs or replacement). Natalie and Caleb have to find their way through all of the bumps, bruises, and storms of their relationship to make it to truly happy, and it is quite an emotional journey. Kudos to Taylor for taking the chance and writing a real, flawed, woman in Natalie who has so much to cope with before she lets herself try for some real happiness. And good for her for writing a man like Caleb, who won’t let go because it’s just not in him to do so (though he’s no doormat, so expect some snark and real anger out of him, too!).

It’s not very often that you find yourself wanting to throttle the woman over the man when something big like this happens, but Taylor did it SO masterfully that I kept reading and feeling all of the emotions of both Natalie and Caleb. It’ll be interesting to see what storyline she comes up with next.

I've read Grayson and Ainsley's story and Taylor quickly became one of my favorite authors. Just like Defining Us, I absolutely loved it! However, I developed a love hate relationship with the characters. There were times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room because of Natalie and her back and forth about how to be in a relationship. I had the same feeling with Caleb at times for almost playing into it in a way. Even though the characters could be frustrating at times I thoroughly loved the storyline and can't wait to see what comes next!

The Breaking Point was my first book by Taylor and I loved it. I admit the first couple of chapters were hard to get through because I really didn't like the way Natalie treated Caleb. But she did begin to grow on me as the story progressed and by the end of the book I actually admired her. Now Caleb I loved him from the start. Despite everything Natalie put him through he was determined to make their relationship work.

It was hard for me to put the book down once I started. I was completely captivated by the story. A lot of books I've read have shown couples who seem like they have no faults and live completely happy lives, but with the Breaking Point you see the good the bad and the ugly. This is the thing I like the most about The Breaking Point it feels real. We get to feel all the emotions alongside both Natalie and Caleb.

The Breaking Point is a story you don't want to miss out on; it is definitely worth the read. Great job Taylor! I will be checking out more of your work.

As with the rest of Taylor’s books, I couldn’t put this one down. I may have gotten super annoyed at Natalie and even Caleb several times, but I couldn’t stop reading. Taylor’s characters always fond a way to get to you, either good or bad. As stated in the author’s note, this book is a little different than the others, but that doesn’t mean it’s not just as good.
Natalie is cut from a different cloth than the other characters we have grown to love. She was forced to retreat inside when things got hard and speaking from experience, that’s not an easy habit to break. There were points in the book when I wanted to yell at both Natalie and Caleb. However, the writing style and the pure and true love between them the two of them makes it all better.
It was so nice to get to hear more from Grayson, Ainsley and Bella as well as a deep dive into Natalie. So many pieces fall into place while reading this story. Can’t wait for the next!

I am a huge Taylor fan. She has not written a book I haven't got caught up in. The Breaking Point was such an amazing read. My life is far from perfect, I am far from perfect but Taylor has the ability to make characters relatable and Natalie, to me, is perfectly flawed.

I cried with her, I laughed with her and I fell in love with a female character whom I connected with on so many levels it amazes me.

Caleb is certainly a hero and he's intense and damn fine. This book though, this book is Natalie's book. Their love, their problems, their everything is real life. Out of Taylor's books, this is my second favorite because well , #lukeiskristas is for a reason ;) Taylor, thank you for finishing Nat's book, for listening to this crazy girl you met online talk to you About it and including me in this wonderful literary world you have created!

There hasn't been a Taylor Delong book that I did not like! There were many times I wanted to reach into the story and smack Nat upside the head! But as I read her flashbacks, I began to understand that her past shaped much of her present and the feelings of never being enough. She's lived so much in her head all her life that opening up to someone else is a struggle. Caleb... God bless him and his patience and love for Nat. He's steadfast in his love for her. They are both fortunate to have a circle of friends and his family for support. It was amazing to see growth over the course of the story from Nat and Caleb. Our pasts shape much of our present and how we view the future. When the foundation we have grown on is not secure, it colors our reactions and actions until we either learn how to overcome them or crumble.

What a storm!

This book is unlike any story by Taylor Delong but she still manages to suck you into her characters world and you feel every emotion. Natalie is a very imperfect character and there is no one more suited for her than Caleb but being a part of their story is quite the roller coaster ride and I didn’t want to get off the ride! There really is a thing as the perfect storm and Taylor has proved that!

A very different book by Taylor, I loved Nat and Caleb's journey to their HEA. I couldn't help but fall totally in love with Caleb, and my heart ached for Natalie in many parts. Despite her own "bad" choices and mistakes along the way, no one is more deserving of a man like Caleb Washington than her.

I loved the cameos by Grayson, Ainsley, Bella and Kylie...like catching up with old friends.

This was one of the books that you wanted to reach into the book and smack someone. The author made us feel like wow this is real life, people have real problems and not always is there a quick fix. I enjoyed how the pulled you in and you did want to throw it a few times but only because you couldn't believe hat was happening. The main characters where great and real. It was a bit of fresh air reading this book sticking to life and not a make believe world , loved it.

What does it take to walk away? How much can one person take? Natalie has let her past define how she perceives her self worth.
Caleb has loved her since day one.
Despite all that Nat throws his way he stays strong in his belief and love for her.
I have to say that I liked Caleb much more than Natalie. But the more you read the more you see her flaws . Their friends provide a level of support to each which was nice.
A book of finding self love to allow yourself to be loved. Great story and growth of characters. I am volunteering to leave a review for this book.

The Breaking Point starts off capturing my attention. Grayson and Natalie (and Bella) and how they meet. But then a the next few chapters had me thinking twice about continuing Natalie’s story. My hard limit is the same as Caleb’s and their story hit a little too close to home. BUT THEN I kept reading, kept turning each page, carefully. Before I knew it, I was fully invested in Natalie’s flaws and Caleb’s love. How does that happen? How does an author keep you from turning off your kindle and letting this couple go? Great writing with a story that is completely relatable. This is my first time reading from Taylor Delong and now, I can’t wait to get back into her world.

This was my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. This book was well written and you can certainly relate to the main characters. Once I started reading I just could not put it down. Great read and highly recommended.

Loved this story ❤️ In the beginning, I was really annoyed by some of the choices that Natalie made but I kept reading and came to understand why she did what she did. I loved Caleb from the start and the commitment he had to Natalie. This was my first read by this author but I am definitely a fan.

A book that shows extremely flawed characters that are able to maneuver the ups and downs of a relationship to find their one with each other. Beautifully written and exceptional story line I am new to this author's work and look forward to reading more by her.

Natalie and Caleb are in a relationship that isn’t easy, but Caleb tries to make her understand that he will always be there. Things happen and they are ripping them apart. Bat needs to work things out but she’s a runner when things are out of control or she’s overwhelmed, but Caleb wants to show Nat that he’s there for her and will be no matter what. She’s working through a lot but it’s a slow going. It’s a wonder sweet story of love, strength and hope!!!

I wanted to scream whilst reading this book quite a few times and tell them to pull their heads out of their butts. But this story was fantastic it was brilliant. It was so good and I didn't want to stop reading at all. I was desperate to know what happened next because it was just that good. I have to say everyone needs to read this book.

The Breaking Point

The Breaking Point
Taylor Delong

This is the first book I have read by this author, so I had no idea what to expect. I can say I am now a big fan of hers, and look forward to reading other things she has written. This story, while at times you want to quit reading or strangle Natalie, if you keep going you learn so very much. Natalie has major self-esteem and other issues, and as you read more of the story, you might be able to understand it. Caleb is a saint, amazing, loving, patient. Seriously I do not know how he did what he did - we all deserve a man like Caleb in our lives. This story touches on many taboo things, but it is all written very realistically. In this case, the flawed character is the woman, Natalie, which I have not read very often. While I did have times I wanted to yell at Natalie to grow up and realize the awesome man she had, I am so glad I just kept reading. Honestly for me that was not a problem, I was completely enthralled with the characters and story from the beginning. I did not agree with all that Natalie did, and I can only hope to find a man that loves me as much as Caleb loves her. The end of the book was so amazing, and I am so glad I read about Natalie and Caleb's journey through some very trying times. But Natalie sure did rock motherhood even though she did not have a good example to follow. Grayson was an awesome friend to both of them.

This is the first book I have read from this author but it won't be the last. Honestly I thought that I was going to hate it because the way of the flash backs from the main two characters (I am not of fan of books like that) but I continued to read it with an opened mind and very quickly found myself not wanting to put the book down wanting no needing to know what these two people would face next.

Natalie is very easy to hate and very frustrating but I could see some of her problems in myself and I'm sure every female if they are honest with them selves (maybe not to the extreme of Natalie). While everyone should be so lucky to find a Caleb all of their own, he is not an alpha male but he has a heart of gold and is so loving.

This book has a lot of heart, love, frustrations, heat and easy to love (and hate) characters. The way the author writes the story really brings to life these characters for me. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a great love story.

The Breaking Point
Taylor Delong

I enjoyed reading, "The Breaking Point." I found this book was an easy read and a bit of a tearjerker.
I liked reading Caleb and Natalie's story.  Natalie grows along with the changes in her life. This couple love for each other is unconditional. Caleb's learned long ago how to handle his storm. He is able to understand and support her in everyway possible.

This has to be one of my favorite love stories I've read in 2020. I found two quotes in the story which hit home for me.

Love isn’t about making grand gestures every day to show the other one you care. It’s about the small things. -Chapter 8

"Why do you keep waiting for me? I fuck up all the time, Caleb, and you are always here.”
“Because I love you, Natalie, and that’s what you do when you love someone.”-
Chapter 7

I fell in love with this author when reading her "Where Forever Leads" from the Falls Village Series and have read more of her work since. I must say this story is one of her best. Natalie comes with a lot of baggage, a fear of commitment, and a lack of self-worth. She has a man, Caleb who truly loves her, and has the strength and patience to help her grow into the strong and amazing woman she is. For Natalie, it is an emotional journey fraught with angst and self-esteem issues. She brings Caleb close to the breaking point. With the help of Caleb's family and very supportive friends will their relationship make it. This great love story is so beautifully written with an amazing ending that brought tears to my eyes.

I don't care for the subject material but it's an integral part of the story. The story is about a couple Natalie and Caleb going through a really rough patch. This was hard for me to keep reading through the first few chapters. Natalie is a train wreck and I don't know how Caleb endured everything she dragged him through. He persevered through a hell of a lot. I get it he loved her that much but damn! The thing is though, in the end I get it. And while seriously I don't care for the subject material, I have to give this author kudos for having the courage to put a story out there that's real, relatable and raw to the bone an emotional trip. You get a peek into Natalie's past and how it shaped her, puts you in her head and kind of shows you why she is the way she is. Caleb almost needs sainthood for his endurance. Natalie sure does test him to the breaking point. How much more can one person take? This was my first experience reading this author. I can honestly say, with the type of feelings that this story evoked in me I could see me reading again for more from the author.

Natalie has not had a good life but she managed to make friends with Grayson and his sister Bella but she hid her life from them because she was ashamed. Years later she meets Caleb and she loves him but her self doubt is destroying their relationship but Caleb being the good guy he is won’t let her destroy it. I wasn’t sure if Natalie or Caleb would reach their breaking point first. Good story makes you think about things.

This book took me longer to read than a lot of books. It is a very emotional story and I just needed breathers before moving on. Natalie is one very lucky girl. She found Caleb, a man that is accepting, patient and so in love that he forgives. It might not be easy, but oh my, he is the best book boyfriend ever.

He helps her through her many struggles. He is patient when she runs. He is there when she returns. I had to wonder if he would reach a breaking point. The happily ever after was one I earned with the emotional roller coaster the author put me through.
