"When you want to change your life in any way, one truth always comes first: You can only change what you are aware of. The choice is simple: expand your awareness or live without real change."— Deepak Chopra
The surest path to self-development is through our vital connection to the world around us. That’s the lesson in Deepak Chopra’s essential new podcast, Mind Body Zone. I listened to all the episodes about a week ago --
If you've read "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" -- or any other of Deepak's practical guides to a fulfilling life --- and or have seen Chopra speak in your town -- or... or...or.... This new -post covid - 'freebie' to Audible members is a wonderful way to reflect with yourself and take in words with 'The Spiritual Man'....as other 'regular' people (yoga instructors, Oprah, etc. ask him questions and engage in conversations)
The narration is good, in the calm voice of Deepak Chopra. There are guests in every episode from different fields of life. They present their experiences and Deepak expands on those experiences to give you bits of wisdom.
I could completely identify with episode 3: Trauma. I have faced trauma all my life as mom was schizophrenic and most of my life was spent protecting her from self harm and neighbours. Mom's gone but the trauma and fear still live on. I take medicines to keep myself in control. I seriously believe in what Deepak said about addictions being a method to cope with trauma. I have decided to start using the method he gave me for dealing with trauma.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. It can be employed to your life no matter what your problem is. I highly recommend it to everyone.
This is perhaps, my first Deepak Chopra book. It's about 37-38 minutes long. A person with little or no prior knowledge of meditation may benefit from the book. Part of the book is a conversation with a musician and part is about meditation. Reads well.
By now I doubt if a book talking about meditation/ right attitude etc, especially by a pop guru, can hold anything new for me. The trick always lies in practicing meditation and implementation of "what's good and wholesome", in discipline and continuity.
A good book to listen to and meditate with the author. There is so much we don't know about ourselves and our minds. It is nice to read the different perspectives that people have to offer to achieve inner meaning and bliss.
Expanding the awareness is important for one's growth and development. this book has given lots of insights on how to improve on your awareness, is a great learning.
