While the name Jack Reacher and some of the supporting characters and story situations are used with author Lee Child’s permission, the Jack Reacher character remains offstage in The Super Colossal Reacher Universe Bundle Volume 1.
A page turner for certain -- all 768 pages and seven books. Jude Hardin knows the formula and it works for about 80% of the book. It kept me reading and wondering what would happen next until finally the dozens of near death experiences, the escalating impossible escapes, the gratuitous violence, especially near the end when it adds nothing to the story, turn this clearly talented writer into almost a B Movie hack. Such a shame since it was so captivating at first. How about substituting some thoughtful dialogue or existential questions here and there as a substitute for another murder in self defense? I always liked math but I don't think I can total up the bodies.
The action in these chapters is non-stop. I thoroughly enjoyed these combined short stories. Each can be read as a stand-alone but tie together well as an ongoing storyline. The characters are well-drawn and the action believeable. I don't believe in reiterating storylines as that takes from the enjoyment of the readers. I can say the action takes place in the future 20th centrury. It is a familiar venue, unlike so many future stories that try to make the future exotic.I highly recommend this collection for any reader of action and thriller novels.
Amazing futuristic story using the Jack Reacher saga as a base! I wish it would have lasted longer! Thanks, Jude! And thanks, Lee, for allowing it to be shared!
This story kept you on your toes until the end. So much intrigue and drama. The poor main character went through so much. Kind of scary to think what our secret military government is capable of. Good read!
The one thing I didn't like was you used the word and too much. You could've just used a comma (,) instead. For example The cows and cats and birds and dog left. The cows, cats, birds, and dog left.
Was good but I found myself getting really confused when they switched between the past and the future.Found some situations and events fit both timelines.
Not clear why this would rate 5 stars. The storyline is tedious and simply uses the Reacher name to lure readers into reading what is otherwise a very flat story. Don’t be fooled.
