The Windmill is a 6,000-word short-fiction romance. The hot Texas wind spins the blades of the windmill just as it turns and twists the lives of folks living on the great western prairie. A wandering cowboy seeks out the windmill for water and finds a farm family needing help. The farmer has fallen from the windmill and his wife and daughter rely on the cowboy to hold the farm together until the farmer can get on his own two feet after 8-weeks in splints. This is an enjoyable story about a good Samaritan. He is passing by and hears someone calling for help and that's just what he does. He becomes attached to this family and it causes him to have to make some difficult choices. I would recommend this story to anyone over 15.
