Cinders - A Perfectly Twisted Tale . . .
Tiago works as a data processor at his stepfather Ted’s land development company. Everyone sort of ignores him unless they want him to be their messenger boy or fix the printer, get their coffee, or whatever else they could think of. Ted’s two sons were lazy and incompetent, but they were treated like royalty. In the meantime, Tiago gets minimum-wage and is first to work in the morning, and last to leave and close up at night. When Ted couldn’t convince anyone to travel to a middle-of-nowhere business deal, they dump it on Tiago. And it’s actually great! Well, at least until he found out he would need to take two buses to get there, and they only ran once a week! The second bus smelled musky and he got hostile glares from everyone.
Hemingway is very unsettled, needing to find a mate soon. He’s a strong alpha, and young so not taken seriously. But his wolf wants his Fated mate and no one in his pack is the right one.
To Hem’s surprise, his Alpha Leo asked him to meet with a guy who was bringing paperwork for a deal on land they were selling. The pack was running out of money because the freeway bypassed their town’s businesses. So getting a fair price for their land was critical. Tiago arrived and went to the diner to eat since Hem hadn’t gotten there yet. But very quickly the door opened and they stared at each other, taking in each other’s scent. They packed up their food to go as Hem took him to the moon festival. The pack didn’t say anything when Hem brought the human. The pack soon wandered off into the woods, leaving them alone. Hem wanted to claim his mate, but he needed to tell him he was a wolf shifter. How would his mate react? Would he accept him? Would he stay with him?
This was a very well-written story that had me cheering for them right from the start. Tiago was so deserving of a good life. He was treated horribly by his stepfather and taken advantage of by everyone. With Hem, he would be loved and protected always. But was Tiago willing to leave and start his own family with Hem? Grab your copy and find out if there really is a HEA for this potentially wonderful fairy tale.
