I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Treacherous Truths. I'm so happy I did because this book was addicting. The book picks up right where the first one left off, so if you read the first one, you know Vanessa had many unanswered questions, and she would do anything to find out the truth. I loved that in this book, we got Kyros' POV! I love knowing what both main characters are thinking, so thank you, Kay! I could not stop reading this book.
Just like the first book, it was an emotional roller coaster for Vanessa because now she was slowly getting all the answers to the questions and secrets she had wanted since her parents died. I absolutely loved Kyro, especially in this book, because he was so raw and emotional about his feelings towards Vanessa.
The secrets revealed in this book have you on the edge of your seat, and in each chapter, you get new twists and turns that you weren't expecting. This book brought spice; it was so good, and the restaurant scene, Oh my goodness, I did not expect that at all!! 🔥

Just like the first book, it was an emotional roller coaster for Vanessa because now she was slowly getting all the answers to the questions and secrets she had wanted since her parents died. I absolutely loved Kyro, especially in this book, because he was so raw and emotional about his feelings towards Vanessa.

ARC Review
Okay. So. Treacherous Truths.
Did I stay up obscenely late knowing I had to wake up early for work the next morning? Yes
Am I damn tired and need caffeine injected into my veins? Also yes.
Do I regret it at all? Oh hell no.
Just like the first book I absolutely devoured this book and couldn’t put it down.
In this book we also get Kyro’s pov and get an insight into his mind and how he operates, which just makes you fall for him even more than in the first book with now being able to know his thoughts. And we get just more showing of how resourceful and strong and passionate Vanessa is, yes she’s a woman being used and tugged at by the men at every turn, but she proves just how well she can hold her own against each of them and shows it every time they have her backed up against a wall.
We finally get some of the answers that book 1, Fateful Secrets, left us with. There’s some I could see coming and others I didn’t, like learning the truth about who her father was and what he did that had everyone in Suncrest keeping Vanessa in the dark. Because when Ky said her learning the truth was dangerous, he really wasn’t kidding. But it didn’t turn out how he expected with what he learns about it as well.
However, there’s other secrets that it leaves us with and an ending that has me itching for book 3 already. The plot twists that come are not what I expected but I highly appreciate because as soon as you think you’re gonna take a breather, you have to keep going to see what happens.
The scenes that stand out to me are the bathroom at the club, both scenes in the restaurant, both for very different reasons, the bonfire scene, and of course the ending. Chapters 20-25 were just full of spins one after another and a plot twist that was not anywhere in my horizon.
The spice in this one is a bit more than the first, but still at the same caliber. And there’s one scene I’d been hoping for since the first book, which is one of the restaurant scenes, and let me tell you that it did not disappoint.
Overall I’d give it 5/5 on the story as a whole and 4/5 on the spice. Definitely recommend reading this once it’s out on the 29th, but book 1 does have to be read first.

Things are getting juicy in Suncrest Bay!
This picks up right where Fateful Secrets left off. Vanessa is still being held by the Crows, while Kyro and the gang formulate a plan to get her back. She ends up back with the boys in no time, while constantly battling with Kyro for the answers he's been withholding.
We're finally starting to get some concrete answers about Vanessa's parents, as well as the stipulations tied to her inheritance money. There's still a lot of unanswered questions, but things are definitely starting to come together.
The spice was good, especially that MFM scene with Vanessa, Kyro, and Ryker. My god.
This does have a bit of a cliffhanger, but it just made me even more excited for book 3!

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Treacherous Truths by Kay Riley and yall….
FAN-FREAKING- TASTIC!!!!!
I was hesitant because a lot of sequels are eh compared to their predecessor but man oh man did this sequel deliver!
Vanessa was ever the badass FMC and Ky is just a broody and swoon worthy as ever I loved getting to read this POV along with Vanessas it added so much for depth!
But…

ARC Review
Oh my stars this author. Kay Riley, I am so glad to have stumbled across her tiktok account. I read Fateful Secrets in one sitting and I could not put the phone down. Treacherous Truths, I flew through the pages! The stories are so intricately written and the plot twists. You think you see it coming but then bam! You never see the next one. Holy crap.
In this trilogy, you have one hell of a strong and smart female main character, Vanessa. She lives by her own rules and will not let anyone tell her what to do (not if she can help it). She is so sassy. Then, you have the male main character, Kyro. He is pretty stubborn and alpha male-y but he does not try to control or possess Vanessa. This book is told with both the character's Point of View and I love that we get to hear Kyro's side of things and how he really feels underneath it all.
The story continues straight off where the first book ends and the secrets/back story from the previous book begin to get unveiled. But at the same time there are still more secrets popping up (the slow burn secret reveals killed me but so worth it!). Vanessa really takes charge of where she stands in the middle of the MC tussles surrounding Suncrest Bay and forms alliances with folks that knew her parents back in the day. More chaos ensues but in the best way possible.
Go read the first book, Fateful Secrets, if you haven't already. I promise this trilogy is worth it!

A new author to add to my must read list
This m/f romance series is a cross between Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy and The Heights Crew series by E.M. Moore, only these characters are mid 20's and not in school. Fierce, throw punches first, ask questions later heroine and a hero who goes to extreme measures to try and protect her (prince charming pretending to be the devil). There are 2 scenes with another guy joining in for some steamy fun (1 scene in each of the first 2 books), but it is not a big focus just a small scene like the cabin scene in Boys of Brayshaw High. There is still another book to be released in Feb. 2022, but I can't wait to see what journey is still to come for these characters. So glad I saw her on tiktok or I would have missed out on discovering this amazing new author.
The only issue I had (it is just a personal preference thing and not an author issue)... I'm not a big fan of flashback scenes because it takes me out of the moment. I would much rather get those scenes at the beginning in chronological order because for me it just helps the story flow better (there is one scene that definitely worked as a flashback because if given earlier it would have taken away some of the mystery of the story).

Betray me or help me. Keep secrets or tell truths. It doesn’t matter, because it all comes back to one thing. That you’re mine. And nothing will ever fucking change that.”
with those words, he was telling me something else. That his love for me overpowered everything I’d done in the past. Or might do in the future. It was his promise that no matter what, he would never give up on me. On us.

Whenever it rained, I always thought of him, even when I was in Detroit.
“Your threats don’t mean shit to me anymore. But here’s one of my own. If you kill Zak or Ryker. If you hurt me. If you hurt Ky. I will fucking kill you. I have the MCs backing me. And the Aces. You and the Kings will be done if I say the word.” Holy shit.
“Let me in,” I murmured softly. “Give me your burdens. Share your pain. Steal my strength. Drown your sorrows. Use me in whatever way you need to.” “Let me in, Raindrop,” I repeated. “Or I’m going to fucking destroy the wall you’ve built to keep me out.”

I received an ARC of Treacherous Truths.
This series is so addictive. I lost too much sleep and drank too much caffeine, but I just could not put this book down. It puts you on such an emotional roller coaster, that you can’t catch your breath before the next thing happens. I loved that we got to see both Vanessa and Kyro’s point of view in this book.
Vanessa has so many unanswered questions about her parents in general and we slowly get to get some of those questions answered. She is still putting everybody she cares about first, with no real regard for her own safety, but she proves to everybody that she can hold her own in this world they find themselves in. Kyro is there though, doing his best to protect and support her, even if she fights him all the way. And I love that he just keeps fighting for her.
Just like book 1, this book brought the heat and I have to say, that restaurant scene…wow…hot! Vanessa & Kyro has this angsty/hot relationship that explodes when they get together.
The secrets that were unveiled to us, both shocked and amazed me. Some, I kind of figured out myself and others blew me out of the water. Especially that cliff hanger…like…what the heck??!! Kay jumps right into the story from chapter one and leaves you breathless by the end of the book.
Something tells me that the secrets in store for us in book 3 is going to amaze us all. And I am so here for it.

Poor Ky!!!
Kay did it again folks! This is her second book ever, and it’s the second 5 ⭐️ rating from me! I keep getting pulled into Suncrest Bay more and more and more! This book has many twists and turns here and there for the plot that keeps you interested the whole way through. Once I started, I couldn’t put the book down!
Im not a fan a cliffhangers and this book was no exception!!! While it a GREAT middle book ending, leaving you wanting more, I still hate them! Mostly because I need book three like NOW! Poor Vanessa kept getting pulled this way and that way. At least with this book she stepped up a bit more. Even though it was betrayal after betrayal (on both ends). In the end, my heart broke 💔 for Kyro! I can’t even imagine what is going through his mind.
Vee and Ky have issue they need to work out that’s for sure, but they are never given the chance. Neither fully trust each other (I mean how could they after everything they have done). Either way, their chemistry and love for one another is 🔥. Oh, and that scene with Ryker at the club and restaurant….. 🥵. OMG Kay has done it again with the second book in Ky and Vee’s story!!! Truths were revealed and there were so many twists and surprises that I couldn’t put it down. I was at the edge of my seat the entire book.
I love how much Ky loves Vee. I absolutely love him!! He would do anything and everything for Vee and by god does he prove it and show it in this book.

This picks up right where book one, Fateful Secrets, left off. Treacherous Truths hits the ground running and doesn't let up. It is packed with action, angst, steam, and mystery. I was on the edge of my seat and it seemed like every time I turned a page, there was another secret, another lie, another truth revealed.
The character and world building is phenomenal. There are so many moving components with the different gang's, but everything flows together beautifully. The characters emotions also come right off the page and you feel for them.

This is the second book in the series and it’s just as good if not better than the first. You find out a lot of answers to secrets from the first book. With that more secrets unravel throughout this book and it had me wtfing and cursing a few times. Our MFC Vanessa is a strong character who wants answers and won’t let anyone get in her way. She’s determined to hold her own. Our MMC Ky is his fathers lacky and is to trying to help Vanessa without sabotaging his gang. I love the vibes of the book. The elements of their gang life and the secrets Vanessa has to unravel. Ky and Vanessa’s chemistry is off the charts even when Vanessa is trying to hate him. The spicy scenes are top tier. Kay’s writing style is amazing for being a first time author. The growth in her writing is awesome and I’m excited to see where the rest of the story takes us.

∆ Ughhhhhhhh-We LOVE. Another cliffy, I know, but listen: you can't even blame Kay for ending it here because nothing less would have sufficed. Even when I saw certain things coming, I didn't see it all and something else would pop in to foil my carefully crafted thought process.
∆ The spice? I see you, boo, we kicked it up a notch with some more sharing (which we love but do not confuse for RH, I promise I'm saving you heartache, just enjoy it) and some PUBLIC 🌶️🌶️🌶️ BBY.

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. This author has an amazing way of keeping you on your toes and keep you guessing because you absolutely have no clue what is going to happen next. With secrets unfolding and truths coming out this emotional roller coaster ride is one for the books. The spice was turned up to 100 in this book lawd help us all they were HOT AF I am talking pantry melting hot. Vanessa and Ky are seriously meant for one another and we get to see Ky opening up his real raw emotions for Vanessa shine bright and Vanessa getting some much needed answers. This is one of those books that is unputdownable and will leave your jaw on the floor and I need some MFKN answers!!! If you love Dark Romance then you definitely need to start this series with Fateful Secrets book1 and then grab Treacherous Truths book 2…

Wow - Kay Riley hit me in all the feelings with this book! The secrets continue to wreak havoc on everyone’s lives. Plus, there is a huge cliffhanger that made me what to throw my kindle across the room.

Vanessa learns exactly what her father was involved in and embraces it in order to survive. By the end, she learns some harsh truths and get herself in an impossible situation.
Final thoughts - Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I’m still in my feelings about this book. Vanessa and Ky are put through the ringer and I’m hoping they pull through all these tests. Treacherous Truths is a wild ride. My head was spinning with all the secrets coming to light. The ending stomped on all my hopes and dreams - I was not ready. I’m anxiously awaiting the conclusion of this series. Hopefully, Kay will piece me back together.

Dang! I was on the edge of my seat for this one. Seriously blown away by these characters. I thought book one, Fateful Secrets was good, this topped it for me. The spice is there but the twisted turning of the story was what had me pulled in.
I absolutely loved the relationship between Ky and Vee. They truly have a special and unique way of dealing with each other and the situations they find themselves in. The angst is unmatched between them and the heat is serious fire in this book. Unable to keep their hands away from each other and pushing the other over the edge of sanity.
There are some answers revealed from Fateful Secrets but the number of questions I walked away with seemed more. I cannot wait for the third book.

I have been dying to get my hands on this one for a while since the ending of Fateful Secrets. The intensity was just as strong with every little twist and turn that will have your mind asking yourself if that just happened. The added depth with Kyro’s point of view just gave this one so much bang that I could not stop reading as soon as I started it.
As this one starts right where Fateful Secrets ends, you are lost again in the world that Riley has created and begging for answers just like Vanessa. There are so many insane moments but also such sinfully naughty ones too. I could not get enough of the banter between this group. I am dying to get my hands on the next book, especially how Treacherous Truths ended. This is one wild ride and I am SO here for it!

Amazing second book!
This book took off at the beginning and did not stop!! It picks up right where book one ended and there are lies, secrets and betrayal on every page! Once we figure something out, new mysteries pop up. This book is such a wild ride and Vee and Ky are the epitome of a love/hate relationship. Vanessa cannot catch a break and continues to hold her own, fight and take no crap from anyone. She is definitely a bad@$$ FMC, although very reckless. The plot is fast paced and intriguing, never a dull or slow moment. You will be on the edge of your seat, dying to know what happens next. The steamy scenes are HOT, especially one restaurant scene in particular. The cliffhanger had me needing more and I can’t wait for the next book to release.

Once again I'm blown away by Vanessa, she's up there with my favorite FMC's. Always kicking ass and having men by the balls!
She finds out some bigs secrets surrounding her parents and how much power she truly has. Now she's backed by the Dusty Devil's along with whoever is left from the Aces, however when Mack threatens her she has to call her guard off. But once she gets her hands on the contract she can't believe the clause her parents put in there, the only way to access the money everyone is after is for her to me married. But the wrong Banes gets the honor.

Another addicting book by Kay Riley!! Treacherous Truths picks up where Fateful Secrets left off. Vanessa is searching for answers, and when she gets close something stops her from learning the truth. It is an emotional rollercoaster as we follow along on Vanessas journey.
Kyro is still the overprotective alphahole but he is even more in this book. We really see the other side of Kyro when he talks to Vanessa and shares with her.
We end with another cliffhanger that will have you begging for the next book already.

Treacherous Truths by Kay Riley is book two in the Suncrest Bay Series. This book picks up right where the other ended. But this time the book is in Vanessa and Kyro's point of view. While some truths have come to light, there's still more secrets at play. While Vanessa finally knows who her father really was she still can't see all the pieces at play. If I thought the cliffhanger in book one was bad, this one ripped out my heart and stomped on it. I have no clue how I'm going to make it waiting for the next book without losing my mind.

This story continues right where book 1 left off. Vanessa is as fiesty as ever, she really can hold her own. The secrets come out and we find out about everything to do with her dads MC and how important they were. Ky wants to help Vee but she’s so stubborn she wants to do things on her own. They still manage to have some very steamy scenes though. There are some shocking reveals in this book and the drama just keeps coming with both gangs and the MCs thrown in together. We are left on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see how the author works out the solution in book 3.

Vee finding more of her strength and learning about her family gave my heart some much needed happiness after everything she’s been though.
Now…that cliffhanger though? Yikes! I have SO many thoughts and ideas about which way the final book is going to go, and none of it is good for anyone that isn’t the main characters and they’re besties.

This series was amazing. I literally just finished the last book and I can’t get over how everything came together. The twists and turns, the ups and downs, the betrayals, the secrets... This series literally has you trusting nobody. Just when you think you know what’s going on- BAM! No you don’t! Seriously, if you aren’t sure about picking the first book up, please let this review convince you. You won’t regret it.
