Oh, No! Not That!
The saga continues with red sand, deceit, subterfuge and death. What do you do when the man in the top position is a deceiver and a murderer? How can you follow such a person after giving him so much of your life and loyalty? As the fight continues to maintain control of Travistown marches on you find yourself reconsidering your reasons for allying yourself with Travis, at least if you are Vincent you do. And what of Jane? Isn't she supposed to be dead? And, really, what will Travis do about the Gun Runners? All of these things are tied together in the fight for survival for those who remain in the struggle to live after the sand storms. You're gonna have to read the book to find out!

September 21, 2022DARK FORCES: A Post-Apocalyptic Survival Thriller: Book 3, my fifteenth read from author Sam J. Fires and the second book in his Ravaged World series. Imagine my delight upon completing the Crimson Rage Series and discovering that there was a follow-up series. Another well-written, entertaining read. Since I’m waiting for Grip of Honor: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (End of Days Book 7) to be published in late October I’ve elected to read the Ravaged World Series since I own the entire series. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Great Story
This story continues to intrigue me and keeps going in directions I didn’t expect it to go. The Ravaged World Series is absolutely worth reading as is the Crimson Rage series that precedes it. It’s interesting to consider what would happen if society fell apart and then go on to consider where we would be a decade after everything changed and most of the population had died. The books are a quick read with lots of action and surprising twists and turns that continue to catch me by surprise.

This book was quite slow. Most of it was the back story of what happened in the years since the first sand storm and the apocalypse.
The switching between past and present got a bit confusing and I found myself wanting to skip the chapters from the past to see what was happening to the characters in the present.
I like this series but this is my least favourite book so far.

Another great story
What a great sequel to the previous stories. The one will bring closure for some of the people and lead to further adventures for others. Also thrown into the mix is decent.

A good third part to this different end of the world series! Good ideas interesting characters! You never know what is going to happen!

This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series!
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.
Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down.

This book touched more on Vincent and Audrey's back story. We learn what brought them to where they are today and revealed some secrets. I can't wait to see where the story goes and how it will end.

Travistown. Is it heaven or hell? Travis is still up to no good and 2 of my favourite characters have gone but there is someone who could save the day. This story gets more intriguing with each book and I'm well and truly hooked.

Great continuation in the series, some unexpected occurrences and Travis’s mystery outcomes remain. Read easily in one session .

Another well written story in a superb series. Plenty of action to keep you intrigued. Once you start reading, you can’t help but become involved in everything along with the characters.
