My name is Jakobus Shaw, and all I want is to be left the hell alone.
Once upon a time, I was a warlock. I killed, I tortured, I did all kinds of horrible things for more power, for more control, but I have tried hard to put that all behind me.
Now, someone just framed me for murder. A coven of white witches thinks I killed one of their own, and they want their pound of flesh.
My past is coming back to haunt me, and there isn't a damn thing I can do to stop it. If I don’t find the real killer before the witches find me, it’s all over.
Who is going to kill me first? White witches hell-bent on revenge? An assassin hired to tie up loose ends, or an Immortal with more power than he knows what to do with? I guess we'll see.
I've had many jobs in my life. I bagged groceries in high school to pay for gas, fast food burgers, and yes...cigarettes and beer. I joined the Army and spent three years in Germany, learning how to stay awake during guard duty and how to be somewhat responsible. I was an electrician for a while, which gave me a good appreciation for what it feels like to get shocked. I decided, after getting zapped one too many times, to go back to school. While I was working as an electrician I had a daughter born with cerebral palsy. She is the best thing to have happened to me. I decided to stay home and take care of her after she had surgery to help her be able to walk and during that time I read a book so bad that I wanted to see if I could do better. Turns out I could, I found that I loved to write and I wasn't all that bad at it. Fast forward a few years and I have now finished five novels (one is nearing the end of the editing process) and a short story about Santa fighting zombies!
I've done a lot of things, but writing is in my soul, I hope you take the time to give my books a chance, I don't think you will be disappointed.
Dark test by Marcus Ashbire. Way's of the warlock book 1. Someone has framed Jakobus. He has Melandra to help him. As a witch has been killed and now her coven is after him. Omg brilliant read. I read in one sitting. Loved the cover. 5*.
Excellent book. Abshire really shines, especially his fight scenes. Tight, vivid writing paints enough of the scene to visualize the action without overdoing it.
