Pain is a uniquely human indulgence and through it, we can see beauty in the most free and pure form.
On the last night of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Charlotte Hanover finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. She didn't mean to witness the murder of two men. Kidnapped, bound and gagged, she finds herself in the back of a trunk. She has only one thought, escape, or die trying.
Sinclair Stuart shouldn't have taken the lass. He knew the minute he looked into her eyes, it had been a mistake. Someone had tipped off Viktor Sokolov and his men, and now he and the girl were fugitives. In order to keep them both alive, he needs for her to fear him.
From the dazzling city lights of Edinburgh to the rugged northern coast of Scotland, Sin understands the danger they are in, not only from the twisted and mad Sokolov, but also the secret organization he works for, The Watch. Vows will be tested, and expectations will need to be met in order for them both to survive.
Finley Brown has spent the past decade reading and writing both historical and contemporary romance books. She likes her men to be in control and her woman to be challenging. Her love of Scotland comes from her mother who was born there. She has traveled extensively throughout the beautiful and mysterious country, learning the history and walking the same path as many of her characters.
This author’s two Watch novels are so very, very compelling. However if you have triggers around kidnapping, torture and rape the early part of this book may set them off. The Watch are still in pursuit of Victor Solokov but he always seems one step ahead and this time he involves Charlie who happens to be in a bar when a hit has been planned. Because Charlotte has violet or lilac eyes she is easy to find because the colour is so rare. Upon seeing her Sinclair is mesmerized and links her with the selkie stories of his youth. Charlie doesn’t know who to trust and is forced into situations that hurt her physically and mentally. It is a love story but so much more.; an absolutely stupendous story. I read it in one sitting and can’t wait for the next one.

This is book 2 in The Watch series and it was very, very good. A full and mysterious plot that put a pit in my stomach at times but kept me turning those pages. It's also an unlikely love story. When Sinclair grabs Charlotte from an alley after she witnesses a crime, he doesn't know why he did so, he only knew he had to. Charlotte is at a serious crossroads in her life and just walked into a nightmare. While that nightmare gets worse, Sin is always there to try and keep her safe and help her cope with what is happening. The villain from the first book continues to cause mayhem for The Watch but they team together to try to stop him. This is not a typical spanking romance and while there is discipline in the story it fits the situations. It is a thrilling spy/secret society type mystery that draws you in and keeps you entertained until the end. The author's descriptions of modern day Scotland are beautiful and the country itself becomes part of the story. I am so looking forward to the next book and highly recommend this one!

“Found” by Finley Brown is one of those books that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it, and after I finished it I needed to wait a couple of days before I could write the review. I just kind of had to let it settle, if you know what I mean. This is the second book in ‘The Watch’ series but I never read the first one, so I can attest to the fact that you can read this as a standalone and totally follow it. It was so good that I’m definitely going to get and read the first in the series.
There’s a lot I’d like to say about this story, but I also want to be very careful to not risk spoiling it for you. There are numerous twists and turns that took me by surprise, which is usually hard to do. Charlotte is in the wrong place at the wrong time while on an escape from America to Scotland. She left America because she was fleeing an unwanted marriage. As a result of an unwitting mistake she makes, she witnesses a double murder. Now fleeing the scene of the crime, Charlotte is found and abducted by the killer whose murderous attacks she saw with her own eyes. His name is Sinclair and he tells her she must obey him so he can keep her safe. Like she’d be dumb enough to believe a murderer is going to keep her safe from some mysterious and worse danger! When she manages to figure out how to get away from him, Charlotte ends up in the clutches of someone who makes Sinclair seem like a Saint. Some of the things that Charlotte suffers in this book are truly horrific. I don’t want share more than that about it all, and I only say that so you’ll be at least a little prepared. I thought it was kind of mind-blowing. Oh, did I mention that skilled theft and forgery of fine art is also involved in this story?
This book contains storylines with art and savagery, folklore and myth, sin and redemption, betrayal and loyalty, survival and triumph. There’s a hidden underworld of evil forces. There’s also a secret society of crusaders for good. There are forced vows and vows made with sincerity. There’s some intense physical intimacy that deepens in nature as the story progresses. Secondary characters throughout the book are excellent. Charlotte and Sinclair have a satisfying conclusion to their particular storyline, but a bigger story will be continuing in the next book of the series. Personally, I can’t wait to read what comes next!

This was a simply wonderful read, captivating with great characters and storyline
Charlotte Hanover is in Edinburgh enjoying the festival when she unfortunately and with no deliberate positioning finds herself witnessing two murders that put her life immediately at risk, she is to be eradicated as soon as possible.
Before she is even aware what is happening, she in tied up in the back of a car trunk and she knows that if she fails to escape, she will breathe he last breath that night, however Sinclair Stuart decided to take the woman for himself and he knows that they will now both be on the run for their life. Sin as he is better known knows that the Sokolov are a mad a determined bunch that do not take defiance lightly and he knows they will hunt them to the ends of the earth. The watch has also declared that if they are going to be allowed to live both of them will have to meet certain criteria. The Watch always stick to their guidelines, failure means their lives I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Found is part 2 in the watch series and is based in Scotland. Charlie is visiting Scotland and finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. She witnesses the murder of 2 men, then finds herself kidnapped and in the back of a car. All she can think of is how to make her escape. Sin kidnaps Charlie, even though he knows he shouldn't of and is a member of the watch. Someone from the watch is a traitor and tips of sokolov and now he & Charlie are wanted by him. This novel follows Charlie and Sin on their journey to survival. I love the chemistry between Charlie and Sin and again that the novel is based in Scotland. Again this novel is the perfect mix of chemistry and adventure and Finley has done it again with another amazing and well written novel. I truly recommend Finley's books and can't wait to read the next part of the series and more of Finley's work.
Found is a well written, intriguing dark romance with characters which are complex in their nature and a solid, well executed plot full of suspense, action, horror, twists and turns, a bit of mystery with folkloric and biblical elements and an atmosphere that will draw you into the setting. This was an amazing read. I loved the slow burn between the characters and the natural pace of their romance. The lightly mysterious and mythical twist kept my interest piqued, without overdoing it and though it was much lighter on the power exchange than I had anticipated, I hardly noticed because of the many facets of both characters and plot. A captivating read that I can wholeheartedly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charlie's life was far from easy even before she packed up and left for another country. She left the frying pan and jumped right into the fire feet first the night she found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sinclair's immediate connection with his purple-eyed selkie bound him to her. The emotions this book brought out were scream worthy as some points - It's abolutely cringe-y! This is not for the weak at heart - or stomach. I did want to smack Charlie a few times for the foolery she found herself in, and with a name like Sin, I expected exactly what his character was all about. Probably would have been a perfect 5 but for the potty language all over.

Charlotte is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She witnesses a killing. Sinclair chases and kidnaps her. Sinclair tries to convince her she is safest with him, but she escapes and lands in more trouble with Sokolov. Charlotte doubts what is happening and has to learn to accept Sin. This book has all the action and emotion that comes with the doubt that one would have as a kidnapped person. Will read more from this series.

This is book two of the Watch series. It can be read as a standalone, but reading the first book makes it better. Charlotte has left America to escape from an unwanted marriage. When she decides to go to the festival, she sees Sinclair kill two people. She runs, but Sinclair catches her and abducts her. From there they begin to fall for one another. There is a lot of action, some discipline and a really great all around book. I love this author.
I received a advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
A new author for me. A little bit of a different read for me but it is a great story, the chemistry for Sin and Charlotte was red hot off the charts and the story itself had a roller coaster of emotions such as action, drama, mistrust, suspense, murder, mystery, personal conflicts, horrific actions, some discipline, native folklore tales with all leading to a HEA. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.
This is the second book the series but it can be read as a standalone. Charlotte is in the wrong place at the wrong time and ends up witnessing a murder. Sinclair takes her with him and plans to keep her safe, but can she trust him? What will happen when they begin to fall for each other? Fast-paced read with lots of twists and turns, plenty of drama and action in this entertaining read. Sizzling scenes and steamy chemistry. I liked it.
Sinclair grabs Charlotte aka Charlie after she witnessed a murder but little does she know the danger once gets away. There is mistrust, action, chemistry and love despite the darkness Really good book and I was impressed by the author this was my first book by this author.

I don't know where to begin with this. Her first title in The Watch series ticked every box. I loved it. This is the exact opposite, full of clichés, reads like something that wouldn't have been okay in the Harlequin Mills & Boon Bodice Ripper era. It's mucky, and left me feeling dirty and disappointed. Why, when something's going so well, ruin it?
