My daughter picked this to read and decided she wanted to share it with me. For a book that used the word spooky I expected a book full of spooky ideas. Instead the majority of these aren't spooky especially all of the Autumn themed recipes. Others could be used for Halloween parties but those ones could also be used for themed parties as well. There are some spooky ideas just not enough in a book that's supposed to be the title of this book.

This book has many great recipes! I loved reading through it and definitely plan to incorporate some into my holiday plans. My favorites that I plan to make are the Black Widow Cupcakes and the Voodoo Doll Brownies. The brownie idea could easily be adapted to make items for other holidays/events, if you have a cookie cutter that inspires you.

There are also recipes with a general Fall appeal. So, even if you don't plan to celebrate Halloween (with or without a party), you can find some recipes that might appeal to you. For just one example, I love hot cocoa and found several fun ideas.

Other things I personally forward to making are a few of the pumpkin/pumpkin spice recipes: (1) Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes, (2) Pumpkin Spice Milkshake (which sounds amazing-mine will be non-dairy, but I'm sure it will still be great!) and (3) the most surprising one to me, that I want to try - Pumpkin Juice (spoiler: it contains more than just pumpkin).

I really might buy this. I don't actually cook much and I don't really use cookbooks, but this is just so perfectly festive and spooky. I might be able to convince my boyfriend to help me make some of them, even though he doesn't eat a lot of desserts.
