Build a base. Gather resources. Protect your companions. Fight mythical beasts. After a near-fatal accident, Charlie Miller wakes up from a coma to find the world in tatters. Civilisation has fallen, wildlife has reclaimed the planet, and almost every other person on Earth has been transformed into a mythical beast.Taking refuge in his college dorm building, Charlie must search for allies, secure defences, gather weapons, acquire provisions, and save the remaining humans scattered across campus before they fall prey to the rabid wolfmen roaming the area. this book features violence, bad language and undefined relationships. If that doesn't sound like your kind of thing steer clear.
Will Hawthorne spent most of his younger years writing the first pages of hundreds of stories before giving up on them and starting the next one.
One day he decided to start writing about the things that scared him most; the haunted corners of strange places, the darkest nightmares that we experience, and the unknown nature of the future.
It was a good story, but I'd like to see book 2 of our cast exploring their majors more. I know this book was basically world building, but I think it would be more enjoyable to see the chemistry major try their hand at a sort of alchemy, and our engineer figure out a way to get the water and power back. Like I said I get that this book was about world building and surviving, I'm just hoping there's more exploration if the respective majors from the cast.
This story was written in such a way is that it's easy to view the world if an apocalypse had happened. I think the characters are well thought out and bring interesting things to the story. I like how it is a slow romance not between just one but between three of the main characters. The story is mostly world-building and them trying to survive. I am interested in reading a second book in the series hope to read it soon.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. The overall story arch was nicely done and the characters were very likable. The harem element is a nice slow build in which the characters actually get to know each other. The mc is an alpha male but in a good way.
Alien spores? Ancient plants from the Amazon? No idea where the spores came from, but they changed the world from human to monsters fighting eachother. This is where we find ourselves, in a fight to live on a college campus against a violent wolf pack made up from prior football players. This was enjoyable to read.
Excellent world building and characters!!! An interesting way to begin an apocalypse but a very very slow burn to a harem. Hope the story continues to grow and expand!!
Nothing overly exciting, but it flowed well and had decent characters. Okay book might read the next one. But if it does not pick up the game in the next one I won't continue.
This is a fine urban harem fantasy novel. It is well written and edited. The characters are interesting and not without flaws. I anxiously await the sequel.
A couple of continuity gaps, and the MC background is the standard tale of loner geek turned hero. Still its an interesting take on the apocalypse World ending trope
