Will Babylon be rebuilt as the headquarters of the Antichrist during the coming Tribulation? This is a popular theory held by many faithful students of Biblical prophecy, but is it true? Does the Bible present enough evidence of a rebuilt Babylon to merit this conviction? Dr. Andrew Woods believes that the Bible is the “ultimate court of authority in all matters of Christian faith and practice.” In The Bookends of Prophetic History he surveys the lines of Biblical evidence that call for a futuristic, literal Babylon in God’s end-times program.
Andy woods has done a great job illustrating and explaining the return of Babylon as a literal place. Over and over in the Bible we see prophecy filled literally, and it is unfortunate that when it comes to revelation so many people want to say it's figurative. But if God in Jesus fulfilled prophecy literally before, why should we treat Revelation any different? I think we as Christians must consider Revelation and other prophecies that are not yet fulfilled to have a literal fulfillment. I recommend checking out this book.
Very well written. An in-depth, well studied and articulated presentation of Babylon. Woods is very detail-oriented, digs deep into the subject matter, masterfully researches the issues, and presents logically and rationally the literal interpretation of Babylon in Scripture. Easy to understand and grasp. You can see Wood's commitment to detail and understanding of the biblical text.
The Importance of the Literal Eschatological Babylon
This book by Dr. Andrew (Andy) C. Woods highlights the many reasons why we should look at Revelation 17-18 as speaking of Physical Babylon. He also shines a light on the importance of Babylon and its history which really shows why it is going to be a central location in the end times.
Excellent analysis of the topic of Babylon in biblical prophecy. While you may not agree with the author, he lays out a clear, easy to read book that covers the subject in detail and gives excellent sources for all his points.
