“You’re mine. My brother. My twin. My deviant. My Devant. You’re mine.” - Elijah to Axel
This quote speaks volumes! Even though this was a taboo romance, I found that the story of really sweet. The way both Eli and Axe took care of Mia is so beautiful. And the way Axe could do any-freaking-thing for his brother is just marvellous. I know it's supposed to be a taboo love story but the story made me look at it as depiction of the strengths in family bonds more than anything else.
I do feel it could've had more drama and maybe some obstacles but overall it was a beautiful read.
Thank you so much Kehlani for gifting me this ebook. I love that I can finally support you even it's via a review 🖤
2.5 stars I absolutely loved the idea for this story. Unfortunately, it fell flat in the execution, and I think it was simply because of the writing. Though I can't place what exactly it was that was off, but something was, and I finished the book feeling confused and underwhelmed.
Big yikes. This was awful. I enjoy taboo books when they’re done well but this was really really bad. DNF @ 9% because I literally could not make myself keep going. While I am all for taboo and I also enjoy safe and consensual age play, the writer made an apparently 19 year old sound like a 10 year old both in her actions/personality and the way that she was treated and it felt uncomfortable to read about her step dads lust for her because of that. Honestly it felt a lot like pedophilia with a random “oh she’s 19” thrown in just to make it not seem illegal and disturbing which is and always will be an absolute no go. Maybe that’s harsh but that was the vibe I was getting. I didn’t even get to the point where the twin brother got involved but I can’t imagine it got any better. Bleh I need a brain cleanse after just the few pages I got through in this one.
