Treble: consisting of three parts; threefold

A spilled chai tea latte and a swipe to the right thrust Sadie headfirst into Hendrix’s and Novah’s life. Although the couple has been polyam for almost their whole relationship, they have never been interested in the same person… until now.
Hendrix and Novah are not prepared for the heady, wondrous heat of the ride the three of them take, but they know one thing for sure: their lives will never be the same.

An absolute damn good time.

There’s something about the emotional intimacy and communication that exists within polyamorous relationships that has my heart aching. They’re so open and honest. Twosomes could do with picking up some tips.

And don’t even get me started on the good times. 😮‍💨🥵

Rilzy, I need more!

Treble was a sexy read and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved the openness and honesty of Novah and Hendrix’s marriage and the two of them not being afraid to go against the norm when it comes to society's views on monogamy. The addition of Sadie just solidified their love for each other and took things to a whole new level sexiness. Whew chile! These three were hot! The attraction, the chemistry, and the sex were sizzling. I’m still clutchin’ my invisible pearls because, chiiiiiiiiiillle I may need to go to alter prayer on a Wednesday after reading those sex scenes. Umph! I admired the maturity of Novah and Hendrix when it came to showing their affection for Sadie both as a couple and separately. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but, Novah, Hendrix, and Sadie were able to turn their threesome into a blissful and loving relationship with absolutely no drama. The Polyamorous lifestyle really worked for them. And, I absolutely loved how supportive Novah’s mama was. Ms. Ruthie loved her some Hendrix and Sadie. I’m normally not a huge fan of poly storylines but, I have to say, I really enjoyed Treble. It just goes to show you, a healthy relationship doesn’t have to consist of just two people.

Fun and quick MFF polyamorous novella!

We don’t often see MFF, normally they’re all MMF, so this was a really nice change of pace! It’s a married couple in an open relationship who both find themselves attracted to the same woman. There’s also some great conversations about bisexuality as well!

I can always count on Rilzy for steamy novellas - she’s the queen.

Honesty was the golden thread that ran through every aspect of their relationship.

This was a good polyamory/throuple read. It’s definitely leaning more on the erotic side as these three can not get enough of each other, but it’s also just an easy, quick, and low angst read. So if you’re looking for some spice with a little FFM kick to it, then you will love Treble.

I liked the writing style, everything else was just okay. The majority of the book was steam with barely any plot and it felt too convenient that they'd find Sadie thanks to a random encounter and that she's the perfect fit for them.

I think this is the hottest novella I’ve ever read. Treble follows polyamorous couple, Hendrix and Novah. They’ve been poly their entire relationship/marriage. However, they’ve never had a threesome or dated the same person. That changes when both of them have chance encounters with Sadie, and one dinner brings them all together in a way that changes their lives.

This was about so much more than the sex. This novella focused on the couple’s polyamorous lifestyle and how they make it work. I loved seeing them bring Sadie into their dynamic, realizing she was perfect for both of them, even when they didn’t realize it.

And the SMEX?! It was HOT. They were GENEROUS with the fun times and I wasn’t mad with it at ALL.

Also - NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP. I recommend you pick this up and devour it like I did!

TROPES: novella; poly relationship (married couple brings in a woman); MF/FFM/FF scenes; black romance (BIPOC/OWN voices); SMEXY AS HECK

Kicking my tail for just now reading Treble but I am a firm believer in timing is everything and listen-

THE AUDIOBOOK WAS PERFECT!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I did a combination of audio + ebook and I felt like I was right in the room as some of these things was happening. It was spicy, enduring, and a complete page Turner. I ate it up and left no crumbs behind. I feel like this is a book, I will constantly come back to. Hendrix, Novah, and Sadie left a mark on me.

Treble is a super sexy high-steam erotic romance novella that explores the dynamic of a polyamorous relationship. If you're in the mood for something low-angst, high-heat, and where the couple communicates at every turn, this is for you.

This book came to me on a recommendation and I see why. Now I will say I do not typically read books with women on women action but I just went into it with an open mind. The spice level was 10 and the scenes were very graphic and made you feel like you were watching the action in a movie or something. Overall I enjoyed the read; however, I wanted a little bit more of a storyline/plot which is why I rated it 4 stars.

Alexa play “It Take Two” by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock. For Nova & Hendrix, beginning a poly relationship with Sadie changes the lyrics a bit. Three is not a crowd but a welcome development to their world. A 5⭐read!!!

Treble was a fabulous polyamorous story. Novah and Hendrix are married and have a polyamory relationship. I really liked these two. They love each other and enjoy the life they share together. They communicate and respect one another. Sadie is a great addition to this couple. She’s bisexual and knows what she wants and doesn’t hold back when it comes to Novah and Hendrix.
The story worked so well because of the amazing chemistry between the three of them. The attraction was immediate and palpable. The sex hot but also erotic.
Treble is a novella but doesn’t feel like it. There’s depth to the characters and a gradual progression to the story and these people. A sexy little treat.

I can always count on Rilzy Adams to bring the heat in her books! TREBLE was super sexy but also really sweet and cozy. I loved Novah and Hendrix's marriage, they have so much love and care between the two of them and it just jumps off the page. Adding Sadie to the dynamic was smooth and easy and I loved how clear Sadie was in her intentions and desires. The communication between Novah, Hendrix, and Sadie was always front and center and the respect and care they all had for each other was beautifully demonstrated. If you want a low-angst, high heat, polyamorous romance then TREBLE fits the bill perfectly.

AY CHIHUAHUA this was so hot. The hottest novella I’ve read in a while.

Novah and Hendrix have been married for years, friends for much longer - and they’re polyamorous but haven’t had a lot of luck (at least lately) in their separate relationships. Until Sadie… who they meet separately. Fate!

Wowwwww Rilzy Adams is ALL HITS NO MISSES.
Okay so before we get into the premise of this book & the rest of this review let me just say I did not see that coming! Me being me, I didn't read the blurb for this book at all because someone recommended it to me & I was just like okay let's read! I will take any excuse to not do my EU politics essay. Also this is Rilzy Adams so I was expecting greatness anyways.

Okay so, Hendrix and Novah are like the cutest married couple in the world. Also the cutest polyam couple in the world. They have opened up their marriage (mutually) and date other people. They have NEVER dated the same person nor remotely been interested in dating the same person (Novah is bi) until the powerful Sadie walks (or shall I say bumps) into their lives. After what seems like a fateful meeting Novah and Hendrix's lives are absolutely shaken, and completely in a good way.

BROOOO when i tell you i was screaming the whole time i read this book. I have never actually read a novel where the main couple is in a polyam relationship and what an interesting take it was. Apart from the fact that i was sweating buckets half the time from the tension, it was really interesting to read about a different relationship dynamic. I really enjoyed that part. But OMG Sadie... Sadie can walk all over me and I wouldn't utter a word of complaint. How can a fictional character have me tongue-tied like this???? At least I wasn't the only one because Hendrix and Novah... absolutely under her spell. She was the boss in this novel from the beginning till the end. I also appreciated the fact that this wasn't one of those 'oh let's make the two girls bi so that it is inevitable they will end up having a threesome with her husband' kind of novels. There was no fetishising their bisexuality from Hendrix, and it was clear the only reasons they ended up together was because of fate and love. The emotional intimacy between Hendrix and Novah was just beautiful. He adored her so much and she adored him. Also, this book was actually funny at times, I caught myself laughing aloud plenty which was nice. But yeah, i highly recommend this book. Just make sure you have a fan right beside you because boyyyy does it get hot.

4 stars.

I don’t read a ton of threesome stuff but everything I have read has been MMF (or MFM). This was my first foray into FFM and I was into it.

The characters’ personalities weren’t the focus here, but that wasn’t the point of the book. The sex is the point of the book. And even then I believed they were falling in love more than in some books I’ve read where the personality is the focus over the sex.

The one thing I wished they addressed is whether the relationship was going to be open or not. There was a Hint at the end, but then the conversation diverted and we never got back there.

Contains: FFM (established open MF couple + F). Uber low angst. Focus on communication. Dating app. Meet cute. Art. Period care. All black leads.

5/5🔥

For a high steam, low angst story, this novella had a good amount of emotional depth to it.

As someone who wants to expand my romance reading beyond my usual MM/MF comfort zones, I decided to try this novella featuring a Black FFM romance. Though Novah and Hendrix already had an established open marriage, I loved how they had to explore a new dynamic when they discovered they both liked Sadie. Lived for the chemistry between Novah and Hendrix at the beginning so when they brought Sadie in..whew🥵 I appreciated the really interesting insights into polyamory and how these relationships can be navigated. This novella also had a lot of great communication and emotional intelligence, which is always nice to read. Overall, I had a great time!

Glad this was my first experience with Rilzy Adams! I'd definitely read more from her

Spilled coffee meet-disaster (and app connection) turns into polyamorous love! Novah and Hendrix’s relationship has been polyam from the start but they’ve never dated the same person before when they both separately connect with Sadie. Such a fun development! I was surprised they were immediately all in with Sadie with barely any discussion. Then it jumps forward six months so we don’t get to actually see them navigating this new step in their marriage. Just references and a few memories. I was glad to see them so happy together but I would have loved to see all that on page! There’s no emotional arc to speak of. It easily could have been expanded into a longer story with more depth. But it was super hot as is! (Except for the use of “nutting.” This doesn’t matter at all but I still had to say it lol.)

Characters: Sadie is a bisexual Black artist with a clit piercing and septum piercing. Hendrix is a Black man (job unclear but he was a business and marketing major.) Novah is a Black interior designer and amateur photographer with nipple piercings; she is bi or pan. Novah and Hendrix have been married 5 years and have been polyamorous from the start of their relationship. This is set in the DMV.

Content notes: premenstrual dysphoric disorder, biphobia (fetishizing), on page sex, car sex, FFM menage, sex toy, alcohol, past marijuana, cocaine reference (not MCs), N-word (not slur), gendered pejorative, ableist language, mention of past sexist date (“barefoot and pregnant”), reference to cousin cheating with a married man

Hendrix and Novah never express interest in dating or sleeping with the same person during their polyamorous marriage. However, a dating app and an accidental meet cute incident changes the rules and ignites a fire that they BOTH cannot ignore. Rilzy definitely answered the call for more Black poly romance with this book. Every time I think I’ve read the best she has to offer, she says “aht aht, read this!”. Treble is an amazing and naughty AF. I could not put it down because Hendrix and Novah had me in a chokehold. Their love, chemistry, devotion and loyalty to each other is a beautiful sight to see. Can we say goals? Imagine when a third was added to the equation? Alexa play “Hot Like Fire” by Aaliyah. Baby something was thumping and it wasn’t a drum! Sadie isn’t here for games either. Sis is BOLD and she knows what she wants and makes it blatantly obvious. The passion and chemistry between Hendrix, Novah and Sadie is dripping of the pages. Dammit! I got heated multiple times just reading about them. Their dynamic work like they’re meant to be and It’s HOT! I loved how Rilzy expressed the emotional, mental and financial importance of being in a Poly relationship. Communication was top priority for this couple and it shows in their marriage and the way they interact with Sadie. We stan a couple who support and prioritize communication. This book is an easy and engaging read. It’s well written and Rilzy doesn’t hold back on details. If you’re looking for supportive partners, top tier communication, hot sex, and relatable period representation, this is for you.

Treble is the story of Hendrix and Novah, a couple celebrating 5 years of marriage while also dating partners separately outside of the marriage.. that is until they both, ironically, fall for Sadie.

My first polygamous read and it was cute, quick, and cut right to the chase. I do not have much knowledge on polygamous couples, but Ritzy made me feel like I understood more about how people can make it work with multiple partners. This story was sexy, hot, and steamy and easy to read.
