I wasn’t a damn statistic. I was a person, and I deserved to be treated as such. But that was a foreign concept to Dr. Elias Kupmen, so I set out to prove him wrong. I’d be the best freaking compassionate doctor ever. And I succeeded. Then I returned to the place that started it all eight years earlier. He wouldn’t be there after all this time, right? I wouldn’t have to face him, yeah? The answer to those questions was a big, fat NO. Elias was still there and still an asshole. But now, I wasn’t his patient; I was his colleague. I was the one unafraid to call him out and spar with him. Until the tables were turned. And just like that, I got a chance to really prove him wrong. That’s all, though, nothing more…certainly not falling for the asshole… We were two dueling doctors, but in every battle, there’s always a winner. Which one of us would it be?

DC Renee is a contemporary romance fiction author who tends to write stand alone novels that always shock you with a twist. She's been writing all her life. It started with adorable rhyming poems as a kid for anniversary and birthday presents, moved onto monologues and short stories as a teen, then transitioned to fan fictions before she found the courage to publish a book.

DC lives in sunny and (mostly) warm Los Angeles with her husband and their two toddlers - a girl and boy that want to "work just like mama," often climbing in her lap and "writing" on her computer. She's very close with her entire family - extended included, and her sister is her muse.

When she's not working, writing, and spending time with the family, she loves watching mindless TV, tinkering with diy projects, and of course, reading.

This is Ivy and Elias’ story. She was a scared college student who got treated by a jerk doctor and his awful bedside manner set her entire life course. Until then, she was lost with no idea what to do with her life and too stressed over it to even choose a major. After being “treated” by a sorry excuse for a doctor, she saw a good doctor who diagnosed her anxiety and she vowed to become the kind of doctor people deserve. Imagine her surprise to walk into Eastport General eight long years later and see Elias.

He's a competent doctor but completely impersonal. After all, he’s there to make people well, not befriend every patient that comes through the door. Elias knows he’s an asshole, but he’s okay with that, until he meets Ivy. He has no recollection of ever meeting her before and treats her as any other young new doc, despite the fact that she’s really hot. Until she starts getting on his case about how he treats – or fails to treat – his patients. He ignores her bossy demands, but then his patients start switching to her as their doc. Ivy is great although it took some time to warm up to Elias but their story is short, sweet and fun.

Is it a duel for love?

Imagine not knowing what you what to major in at college until you visit the doctor! This is the story of Dr Elias and Dr Ivy. Dueling Doctors is a medical romance set in Eastport Hospital.

Dr Elias knows his stuff but he is never non-personal with his patients and colleagues. Eight years ago Ivy was his patient. He left such an impression, she decided right then to study to be a doctor and to be the best doctor out...showing her patients that they are not just a number. Ivy actually returns to Eastport to start her residency only to find that Dr Elias is still there and not only that - he is the same way with his patients.

Of course Elias and Ivy will clash since they demeanors are so different. The back and forth between these two is spicy. One would think they actually hate each other, but we all know there is a thin line between hate and love. And these two are definitely attracted to each other but would never say.

When Elias takes ill he receives some of the same treatment that he dishes out to his patients and that makes him start to think. His new doctor, Dr Ivy, shows him her way of dealing with patients could actually be better.

Will the time that these two spend as doctor and patient, allow them to get to know each other and will they decide to cross over that thin line?

Dueling Doctors is funny enemies to lovers romance that will have you reading it in one go.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Funny, Page-turner, Wonderful characters

I loved reading all about Ivy and Elias! I couldn’t put the book down. Ivy went to the doctor 8 years ago, for a certain condition, and Elias was her doctor. The way he was with her was less than stellar. She decides to become a doctor and show how a real doctor should treat their patients. She gets a job at the same hospital Elias works at 8 years after her run in with him. She recognizes him right away but he doesn’t recognize her. She sees how he is with his patients-never consoling them and straight to the point. He treats her not so nicely at first and thinks she is taking his patients from him. There is a lot of back and forth between these two and I felt a connection from the beginning. When something happens with Elias, who do you think is there to tend to him? Will they finally realize they could have something good? Can Ivy get Elias to soften up not only towards her but with his patients? Is there a possibility that these two can have a happily ever after? This story touched my heart and gave me all the feels!

This is a wonderful addition to this amazing series and is Elias and Ivy’s journey. When Ivy was treated for a condition and Elias was her doctor, she was not impressed with his lack of bedside manner, so much so, that she sets out to become a doctor herself. Now 8-years later Ivy is employed at the same hospital she was a patient at, and she did not expect Elias to be a colleague, and she is now on a mission to prove that compassion goes a long way to comfort the patient. This is a well written story which is a quick read, enemies / lovers’ story, with humor, witty banter, emotions, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Elias may be a skilled doctor however his handling of his patients is clinical and distant, and his co-workers will never be more than acquaintances. From the moment that he meets Ivy the sparks fly as there is no denying his attraction to her but their methods of performing their jobs couldn’t be more different.

Ivy and Elias have a past even if he doesn’t remember it however it did shape her future when it came to her career. It may have been years since she has seen him and he appears to not have changed at all but will she change him?

The interactions between Elias and Ivy were humorous and hot as she isn’t about to back down from anyone or anything which both intrigues and infuriates him.

I LOVED this story so much, and couldn't get enough of it. Ivy didn't know what she wanted to do with her life when she went to a doctor who treated her not so good, and that was the point she decided what she would be when she grew up, so she decided to become a Doctor but would make sure she wasn't like Elias. Now, he knows his stuff but he comes across cold as he's not personal with his patients at all. Ivy starts her new job at Eastport General, and comes face to face with Elias again, and he's still acting the same way so Ivy's going to go toe to toe with him (the sparks are flying like crazy) which made for a fun story in my eyes! To see how it all pans out, you know what to do as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What a fun quick read, with great witty banter. These two main characters couldn't have more disdain for each other if they tried.
Is that what they are really feeling even?
Dr. Elias Kupman by his own admission has zero bedside manner. Ivy Sanford will agree it's why she became a doctor.
But what happens when the doctor who has no compassion for his patients needs a little compassion who will he turn to?
If you love a strong female lead who's also extra nurturing and able to bring the alpha to his knees this book is for you.
I have voluntarily left this review.

Have you had an appointment at Eastport General? Well make your appointment, because this will definitely make you feel good!

These sexy doctors and the ladies may just have you swooning!

Elias' bed-side manner left much to be desired, at least for Ivy. When she becomes a doctor and ends up in the same hospital, Ivy's going to teach Elias how it's done!

When the tables turn, Elias may just learn a very valuable lesson!

Ms. Renee has provided a great addition to this very cool series!

Another great installment in the Doctors of Eastport General series.
This is a short and angst enemies to friends story that turns into love.

I actually liked Dr. Elias Kupmen, he was clearly an alphahole from the beginning, but that just made his fall (into love) even greater. And Dr Ivy Sanford was the kind of doctor everyone should have- competent, smart, and compassionate.

Make sure you download the bonus epilogue, it’s totally worth it!

This series is full of love stories that can be read in one or two sittings, and so far each couple has good chemistry.

Ivy really didn't know what she wanted for her future until she met Dr. Elias. He changed the course of her life. When she is done with med school she comes in contact with him again. Dr. Elias is confident in who he is and doesn't care what other think of him.

I loved how Ivy and Elias sparred against each other. They both stood up for their beliefs. Their banter was so epic. Then come the twist that makes Elias really take a look at life.

This book was funny and romantic. Two characters that will make you laugh, hate and love.

Dr. Jerkface...Elias was a man after my own heart! You either want to punch him or kiss him. He knew that he was a great doctor and he even knew he was a jerkface. He just didn't care...until a fiesty woman came and smacked him over the head.

Ivy knew how to handle the brooding doctor. She took what happened to her and used it for the better of her patients. She was caring and compassionate.

The banter between her and Elias was so good! I truly felt for them when everything came to a head. This series just keeps getting better!

Ivy and Elias's story was one that really moved me and proved to me that it's not too late to change. I loved how Ivy did not let her past make her bitter. Elias he was an a** and I had to be won over to like him. Good story and I couldn't get enough of them.

With compassion

Great story of from disdain to love. Ivy was compassionate and caring. Elias was just the opposite until she changed his heart and they found love together.
