This one is very degrading, full of non-con and dub-con alike. If done right, I can be a big fan of this. If done wrong I’ll freaking despise it. This is right around the middle, some stuff I found steamy and some I just thought was fucked up.

On the taboo side, this ranks high. I love a good step-daddy age-gap. Throw in the step-uncle and step-grandfather, even better. If that wasn’t enough let’s get a little twincest and some father/son action in the mix.

As for the plot and the conflict … pretty lackluster at best. I mean we all know this story was written for the sake of straight smut. So, let’s not muddy it with mediocre kidnapping/rape/murder action. And the resolution was so construed, it was wholly unbelievable. Even in a fictional context.

The best part of this crazy plot was Sasha’s revenge. Good for her! 🙌

Overall this one hits right around the middle. Not bad but not great.

Respectfully, what the fuck

So FMC has non sober relations with her step uncle, which leads to her having relations with her step uncle's fraternal twin (aka her STEP DAD), and then her step grandfather, and then all of them all the time.

Did I mention all the men in this family also...service and share...with each other.

This really said let's keep it in the family, and meant it.

There's also non-con relations with a random stranger in here and some murder.

Yeah, shit's wild man.

Enjoyed the set up, the writing was meh, read it for a quick, smutty taboo time?

First and foremost, this isn’t a story that the general public can easily stomach due to the themes used in the book. That said, if you can’t handle pseudo-incest, incest, age gap, reverse harem, dubious consent, non-consent, rape or mild torture, then this book clearly isn’t the one for you.

That said, I’ll get on to my thoughts about this book. Also, I stopped reading this book at 88% because at that point, I just couldn’t handle it anymore.

The premise of the book was interesting enough, and I believe had a lot of potential to be better than what it is.

Unfortunately, the blurb of our heroine trying to catch a criminal to show that she earned her spot at the firm was in actuality, very flimsy. She didn’t do much, not at all. And I don’t even see any real reason for her to be accepted into her family’s firm.

The main characters: Sasha, Uncle Tony, Daddy Gene, and Nonno.

Sasha was as I expected her to be: a teenage brat. She wasn’t particularly any interesting or unique, despite her trying to set herself apart from her social group. Though she is somewhat described or hinted to intelligent, focused on school work because of her goal to become a lawyer, her actions show us otherwise. I don’t even see how, beyond her author-given advantage, she is attractive to what should be very accomplished men (well, Uncle Tony I can understand).

Uncle Tony is a rollercoaster. Early on, he is already set up as the perpetual bachelor with a big house and endless celebrity contacts. Spoilers: he is also sexually depraved, as he is the rapist. This was fine. But as the story goes on, his characterisation gets wonky. The loose and predatory man, after two bouts of sex with his step-niece, has suddenly gone all starry eyed and in love.

Daddy Gene. The step father who was very fair and caring to his children. The first couple of chapters, he is depicted as the opposite to Tony. And yet the moment we get to his POV, we see that it doesn’t take much for him to get aroused for his step-daughter. And then, he fucks her and is immediately in love with her.

At this point, I would like to say, I can still stomach the rollercoaster characterization. But then we get to Nonno (the grandfather) and his reason for falling in love with Sasha.

Nonno. Somehow hinted to be a strict man, a very accomplished lawyer. More like a mob boss than a lawyer. He has a soft spot for his favorite granddaughter. Then he sees the sex tape of Tony and Sasha, listens to his sons about their sexual encounters with Sasha, and decides that he has fallen in love with her through those stories.

Also. Nonno, Gene and Tony have had a sexual thing going on since the brothers were kids. That is fine, what is not fine, to me, is how they went from accomplished and domineering men to…whumps in all of thirty minutes.

As soon as Nonno gets into the sexual fray, the characters of Tony, Gene and Nonno are blurred. They all have one personality and that is being simps for Sasha. Which is fine, but all the other characteristics that set them apart at the start was gone.

Law. Law firms. Lawyering. I have to put this in here because…everything was just misinformation about law practice. It isn’t hard to do research on law, it is one of the subjects that is readily and freely available. And this shouldn’t bother me as much, if everything else didn’t feel mediocre and unplanned or rushed.

Writing and Point of Views. I never really expect much in first person POV stories, especially erotica. The point is to drift into a fantasy and get off on it, imo.

But the writing felt very juvenile despite the subject matter. It was fine when read in Sasha’s POV because she is juvenile. But we jump to Tony and Gene’s POV, and even they sound like they are bratty teenagers. In an age gap story, I would like to at least feel the age gap other than “X is 18 and A is 30”. Overall, it felt like teenagers playing pretend adults.

The word choice is more about shock value than evoking an emotion of taboo and forbidden. Shock value is fine, but the same phrases have been repeated too much that the shock wears off and it just gets tiring. Instead of it feeling taboo, forbidden and dark, it feels more like a reminder “remember they are related and there is an age gap!” especially with how juvenile the POVs of Tony and Gene are written.

And too many pages are wasted on characters explaining to other characters what happened, and in clear detail. This is actually a common writing mistake in beginners, and usually with a proofreader or editor, these can be deleted or rewritten in a manner that wouldn’t bore the reader.

The whole thing with Sasha, and all the rapes she went through not from her relatives was very traumatic and dark. And yet it is treated so…flimsily. After a double rape and torture, Sasha—who is so easily distracted by her step-relatives dick that she can’t think straight for a week—can actually string a paragraph of lies to the police, the health care workers, and her mother without batting an eye. And also despite all the torture she went through, she seems to be mostly physically/medically unharmed as in there were no lasting or permanent damage, despite being beaten severely. And although she mentions that she will be broken and have trauma, it’s so flimsy and delivered like a throwaway comment—and this was the last straw for me, finally dropping it before finishing after surviving through everything else.

Honestly, I had such great hopes for the book because of its blurb but everything just fell short. That isn’t to say that the author is bad—the author has only two works out so far and no bio on Amazon, so I assume that they are new and have less writing experience. The idea there is good, there is a vision of a fantasy and it is good. But the overall delivery of it needs to be improved—the writing style, the use of words and phrases to give each character a different tone, characterization in which characters stay in character, and building a fantasy of words wherein it evokes emotion (not shock value!) from the reader and pulling them into the story.

This review may come off as harsh, but my full intent is for the author to see this as constructive criticism and be better because they have a pretty clear vision of a fantasy in their head, it’s just the delivery for others to also consume that vision.

Genre: Erotica
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Since Sasha Santini first realized she wanted to be a lawyer, her goal was to join her step family’s esteemed law firm. But she never expected to face much more than what she bargained for.

This is the kind of book people will either love it or hate it. As a taboo Erotica purely banking on sexual depravity, this book ticked all the right criteria. But if you want a filthy book with literary merit, then you are going to be sorely disappointed.

“Welcome to the family firm, tesoro. I think you’re going to love it here.”

There were plenty of what were supposed to be intense circumstances but the characters' reactions were too mild to be believable. The characters also flipped like a switch. These instances disrupted the flow for me. I’d give the writing two stars but will give it credit where it’s due. The filth deserves full five stars. There was so much “wrongness” it’d make pearl clutchers snap the string from excessive clutching.

The Family Firm delves into perversion and revenge. It would appeal to readers who enjoy an erotic familial reverse harem romance.

Taboo story, writing lacks development

When I read Gene, Tony, and Nonno: Stepfather, stepuncle, and stepgrandfather, as referred to by Sasha since the age of 5 as Daddy, Uncle, and Nonno (grandfather), I knew I was in for a taboo tale. And this story did not fail to deliver on that front. Essentially a story of Sasha discovering, within her family of Italian relatives (connected by her mother who married in), a why-choose, very unconventional relationship with three men.

While not only age-gap reverse harem, it was a suspense thriller and carried some dark themes, including dubious consent and violence. The taboo, for me, was more about the incestuous relationship taking place among the men -- fraternal twins Gene and Tony and their father. This was a MMFM read. While fast pace, which I liked, I could not feel love connection between them. It was stated, but there was too little build up and character development that would have made their relationship, at least the emotion and love of their relationship, felt. And while fictional of course, I was not the biggest fan of the familial relations among the men and the creepy, sexy familial titles Sasha called them.

Overall, although the writing lacked maturity of a more seasoned author, it was a spicy read and entertaining, and kept my attention with its I-can't-believe-it moments, progressive pace, and intrigue.

I’m cringing rn. So…yeah, not quite what I expected. Not really pleased with it. I knew going in it’d be taboo- that’s fine, I like taboo- it’s the graphic on page r*pe that made me sick. As if that wasn’t bad enough, when the guys showed up to save Sasha, they were hard and getting turned on listening to it. 🤢 I should have stopped there. I also should’ve checked the triggers, that’s on me, but still. I wish I could forget the last 50 percent all together.

The writing was meh, and there was no development in characters or the relationships. It felt like one minute they’re just a family and the next they were having sex. Absolutely no build up or tension or teasing. So when the sex scenes happened, it was like reading a grocery list. Really didn’t like the FMC or Tony either.

The dark and murdery aspects felt a bit immature and underdeveloped as well.

Kinda wanna go read my favorite books to clean my brain.

All Sasha Santini wants is to earn an internship at the family firm, but what she finds is a family that can meet all her needs.

“Tell us what you are,” he commands. “Your – fucktoy,” Sasha stammers.”

Told in multiple POV, Sasha is in trouble until she finds herself in the hands of her family. What ensues is pure taboo filth as the family dynamic between Uncle Tony, daddy and Nonno develops. While the plot is fairly anemic, this book is high on the smut and really no boundaries are apparent.

The Family Firm is taboo story on steroids. This book might appeal to those without any boundaries.

“I wish I was your real daddy. I’d love to be able to say I made these beautiful tits as I watch you bounce on the cock that created you.”

Basically, FMC fucks her stepuncle then her stepdad and then her stepgrandad then fucks all of them at the same time. There's also a sprinkle of M/M here and there. The writing was meh and cringey but the story is basically porn without plot so who cares? This book is fucking unhinge because of the incest & noncon/dubcon contents so read at your own risk.

If you read and loved Trailer Park Virgin by Alexa Riley then this book is right up your alley 👍

I think I'm gonna need a palate cleanser and a shower after reading this ☠️

Fun blend of forbidden and taboo. So much goodness packed into one quick down and dirty story!! Eighteen year old Sasha has just escaped an abusive HS romance. After three years she thinks she’s finally done with her ex.

A friends casual comment about her DILF stepdad and his twin brother is all that Sasha needed to get her imagination running. And once it starts she can’t imagine not sampling the men. Thankfully her mom’s divorced from her stepdad, so no crazy cheating overlap. But things only get crazier when the twins father, Sashas step grandfather joins in on the fun. I mean the man even says he raised his boys to know pleasure has no bounds, even when women aren’t around…I mean DAMN. Talk about a sneaky MMMF story

Anyway if you’re not into any of these things keep scrolling, this book obviously wasn’t meant for you:
🔥 MMMF agegap romance
🔥 brotherly love (twins!!)
🔥 everyone taking care of daddy
🔥 serial killers
🔥 noncon/dubcon
🔥 partner abuse (not the H’s)
🔥 steamy AF group scenes

I almost dnf this at 30%, I wish I actually did

I love taboo relationships and and erotica's however reading this by 30% it almost felt like a true crime storyline except it was romanticized.
I felt so unsettle knowing that they would drug and videotape multiple women because they didn't say no. The grandfather, the uncle and The Stepfather will have dinner dicussing about all these women they recorded including the stepdaughter. Probably I read too much erotica but it made me feel unsettled.

I started to get into the story but then chapter 11 happened. I am shocked that she had such detail rape scene and abuse. It did not fade to black, it continued and continued.

I am begging and hoping that the three guys come and save her which they did after she was sexually abused. And a sick part is that they get it hard hearing her being raped. Their only excuse is that they are men, they're asexual, it happens.

Oh my goodness.

This book traumatize me more than an extreme horror book.

“Don’t go,” I said. “I’m still hurting down there, but…”
The FMC said that a day after she was brutally raped. I can't wrap my head around this.

⌠ ★☆☆☆☆ ⌡

this book is NOT taboo, it’s worse. this book contains rape, incest (grandfather, dad, sons) mentions of necrophilia, huge age gap, non-consent, dubious consent (bordering on non-con), mild torture, and horrible handling of trauma. the author tried to ‘justify’ the incest between the men but incest is incest. these are your children for goodness sake! furthermore, the FMC is 18 while dealing with men over 30. what do these people even have in common? the FMC is a not-like-other-girls girl that is EXACTLY like all other 18 year old girls.

i do not recommend this book.
the CIA couldn’t have water boarded this book idea out of me.

I skimmed this because I’m trying my hand at erotica with a reverse harem and age gap (regular, not reverse). I find that as long as the FMC has a sex scene with each man before the group sex, I’m okay with reading this trope (or kink?).

Trigger warnings (copied and pasted from ebook): sexual content, dubious consent, non-consent, kidnapping, physical abuse, murder, and a slight instance of drug use. It also includes MM content. I’d like to add incest between twins and their father, pseudo-incest: stepfather/stepdaughter, step uncle/step niece, step grandfather/step granddaughter.

Kinky and taboo relationships can be just as much of a turn on as the description of the sexual act itself. This book has plenty of kinky relationships. In fact it seems like the hot scenes are relying on the tabooness to do most of the turning on, as some of the scenes are very superficially described.

I think that's my main issue with this book - it covers some very sensitive areas - but it's all too superficial.

Having said that, I do realise that at times it's on purpose, like when the uncle states "..I unlock the doors to the Queen of Heaven Cemetery. It's past ten at night, but my buddy owed me a favor for getting him off a necrophilia charge, so I have a set of keys." I couldn't stop laughing at that lol

This book has been on my TBR for far too long and I'm so glad it was recommended to read next.
Without giving too much away, this book checked all the boxes, intrigue, mystery, forbidden situations and lots of smexy times.
Sasha is a young woman just trying to get through high school and onto bigger and better plans, like the bar exam. Her family, step father and uncle and grandfather, have enticed her to join the family firm and that has been her goal all her life.
There are twists and turns and so much going on behind the scenes and I truly enjoyed this story 💕

This novella has some really great basic ideas, but it is woefully underdeveloped in all areas. It's a shame, because if those ideas were thoroughly expanded on and made into a proper, thoroughly written book (or series), I could easily see it being one of my favorites. I think this author has potential with ideas like these, but needs more time and practice on writing/development.

If the above has you still wanting to check this one out.... content warnings abound for this one; if you don't like taboo, violence/gore, non-con, etc. stay away.

I'm giving two stars for the taboo and for what I can envision this story being with a lot of work/expansion, but the writing as-is/lost potential makes it more like a 1.

Going into this i didn’t know what to expect and I wasn’t disappointed.

It’s taboo. Step family (having raised the child since 5) and there are scenes of actual incest between brothers a father/son.

But it was definitely a good book😂 it had a dark element that became more than I thought it would but in no way did it change the fact I was loving the book.

THE EPILOGUE!!!😂😈🙌🏼

Wow, completely unexpected! I enjoyed it a lot. I was also surprised by some aspects of the story, since they're not under the content warning, but it didn't take away from the story at all, since I read stuff like that all the time. But it's definitely content that isn't for everyone.

I’m a little bit speechless.

Definitely check the triggers.

This is a fast read but it still is packed full of things that will most likely make you a little bit uncomfortable. That being said for such a short book it definitely has plot and spice like a motherfucker. There were quite a few oh shit moments that I honestly wasn’t expecting.

Misleading

This was a quick and fun read, not much plot (and the plot that was there wasn't that complicated and was quickly dealt with) and doesn't require much thinking to read. It's a step family whychoose romance with a massive age gap (father, uncle and grandfather). They've known the FMC since she was a kid (and I know. another reviewer had brought up a concern surrounding the younger kids, especially because they MMCs had basically raised the FMC.)

There's drugging and non-con involved with the uncle and blackmailing and coercion with the others and obviously because they're the MMCs their major red flags are kinda ignored and dealt with like it's nothing major (Y'all, I've read this twice and the FMC does in fact go along with the trio without much struggle even with what the uncle did to her).

There is also M/M involved and this is what I have a problem with (not the MM, but more so how it's being promoted and I know I'm not the only one that has brought up this concern). I totally get authors not heavily promoting the fact that they feature heavily taboo topics in their books on Amazon because they don't want to get their books removed

However, not saying ANYTHING is really misleading, especially if you're pushing it as something else, this book is being pushed as a "reverse harem" (it's more whychoose than RH, because of the M/M) stepfamily romance which it technically is, but nowhere (and I have checked) is there any mention about the 1nc3st that also takes place between the trio (the father, uncle and grandfather).

Like nowhere. There are no trigger warnings, even in the book itself it just says M/M, which I don't mind, but it's also misleading (in my opinion). You're blindsiding folks with this obvious triggering topic without any warning, not even on your social medias (and again, I've checked and I'll check again after I post this review just to make sure I didn't miss anything) and that's just not cool.

I don't have a problem with 1nc3st personally, I've read quite a few 1nc3st books and I've enjoyed most of them, but at least they had been up front about the fact that there would be 1nc3st involved and the fact that the books isn't upfront about the 1nc3st is why it gets two stars.

I honestly don't know what to say about this book. Where do I even begin I read dark and taboo which is why I chose this book but that's not what this book is. I don't know what this book is about other than trying to disguise incest, rape, torture and murder as taboo there's also drug and alcohol use but who could blame them with the aforementioned rape, torture etc. This book is demented it has more in common with Stephen King than the romance genre whatever genre you try to disguise it as. I'm sorry that I participated in this ARC and I don't recommend this book nor will I read anything else by this author.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sasha & tony / gene / nonno (whose name I’m not sure was ever said…). 2 stars 3 spice.

Well i definitely have a limit to my taboo books - blood father/son. Siblings? Fine. Parent child? No thank you. (And that’s between the step-grandad and his sons, if it was just step-grabdad with the fmc I’d have no issue)

Aside from that this wasn’t great. The plot was awful with the ex. Like how did noone notice how fucked he was? And for lawyers, it was never really clear how they knew how to get their hands dirty. The dubcon at the beginning was definitely dubious and this definitely felt like grooming. Thats not to say that was bad cause it for the book and is a dark romance. The full on noncon (not the mmcs) was a suprise , i was hoping they’d get to her first

This novella is an interesting study in human sexual psychology, I think.

There is a very graphic rape scene about three quarters through this text, which I just skipped through. I didn't skim read or anything, but my eyes caught enough of the words to know it was a very brutal rape. It behooves me to ponder the author and what would possess them to include this type of thing in what is otherwise a nice quick smutty read.

I wonder if it is some form of personal trauma assessment or reflection. To be clear, I knew what I was going to read going in because the trigger warnings were there, but in my humble opinion even non-con in the space of kink is not the same as an actual violent rape.

Whatever the case may be, it will definitely be triggering to some and uncomfortable to even the darkest readers. It's a pity because for the first three quarters of the book it was just so good, it could easily have been a four star rating in the space of taboo smut, but after that scene it all just goes downhill. I mean, for god's sake, the MC is begging for sex right after the incident claiming she has "two other holes that are fine" - eh? I don't know so much.

They have sex on the rapist's grave at the end, which is cool, I suppose.

Final thoughts: if you're going to write smut, write smut, don't try to include a plotline that deviates the smut and makes the reader feel weird.

Nope not...

I dont even know what to say. I thought going into it it was something different. He was her dad since she was 5. Same as the uncle and grandfather. It's sick as hell. I dont care if blood related or not. The uncle should be put in jail. She was drunk way to much and then he drugged her on top of that. Then because drugs let's you do stuff you wouldn't do says she concented. That would be a hell no. Even the n2xt day she told him no and he didn't. Same with the father. She told him no and to leave and he blackmailed her Same as the uncle. And she just what forgot the guy who raised her and call Daddy. She never had those feeling before just of one being her dad. And then the grandfather. Nope just gross. Seriously you share your women. Despicable. This is not a RH. Not only that it's stated MM maybe techn. Yes but it's disgusting incest really. I'm not shaming others kinks but to me being a victim of incest it's gross. And she may be 18 but she is still is high-school which is even worse especially with grandad. If you like these kinds of book go for it. I'm here to say what I didn't like. How I felt about it. My opinion is mine alone. Alot of people like this kind of troupe and that's OK. For me is a STRONG NO. I refuse an age gap bigger then 10 years. Had I know I wouldn't have started it. But that's my issue

Terrible and not just because of triggers SPOILERS!!!!

First of all its got real mmm incest in its not just step family taboo. Also rape and torture are present. Other reviews here give more trigger warnings. I know that isn't a problem some readers but it should state real incest not just step family because its a biggie. The fact that it seems normal for the family and she has younger siblings it makes you wonder what the future holds there. That all aside it's a poorly written porn plot. I can get behind some dark taboo but I would like it to be a decent story and to have some connection to the characters or at least believability. It's bad and written for shock value that's it. The sex scenes aren't immersive at all imo. She is a toy so there is that if it's your thing but so much better is out there. It's like a kid wrote it imagining what the most taboo thing he could think of was. It's just crap. I will give it 2 stars because it did deliver the taboo nature it advertised it just didn't do it well. I won't down rate for content but I will for bad writing.

This definitely is a taboo read. I was not sure what I was getting into but had seen it talked about it a few groups I’m in.
What wasn’t talked about was all the trigger warnings that it contains….
-incest
-rape, sexual assault by ex
-drugs
-dub-con
-violence
-44yr age gap
To name just a few.

FMC is first with the StepUncle who finds her drunk on the side of the road after midnight. He “rescues” her only to drug her and he brings her to his house. So was she truly able to consent? He then proceeds to show her a video of them the next morning and works her into believing she consented.
The video is then given to her StepDad and StepGrandfather for them to get their rocks off.
She wants to be a lawyer and work for the “family” firm so the three men groom and coerce her into becoming theirs and funding her college so she can come work with them.
What I was not expecting was that the 3 men were in a relationship with each other. So there is MM, MMFM, MMM involved as well.
62yr old man with his twin (40’s) sons and step 18 yr old granddaughter.
Ends with a HFN.
