DNF. Horrible protagonist
I am so unhappy about what Sarah chose to do with this book. I was really looking forward to Drew’s story. I loved his character from the last book, so I’ve been anticipating this one. And I have really enjoyed her other books.
I found out this book was out by the email of another author I love who shares what she’s currently reading. She shared that she DNF this book because of the outrageous pranks and vitriol of the h. I was super disappointed when I read that, but wanted to give it a try myself. Unfortunately I have to agree 100% with her.
I was barely into the book when I knew I would not be able to stomach the hate and immaturity of Jess. It was not only over the top, but also totally unjustified. I just really cannot believe all these positive reviews and that people actually enjoy this. jess’ character is so vindictive and immature for no good reason and apparently according to the other reviews, for most of the book, I just refuse to wade through it to get to the HEA.
So sad. I really wanted to have me some more Drew.

I liked this one more than first one. Not sure why because Jessie is actually a bit of a childish character.. Must be Drew with his swoon worthy body and character!

I didn't love Jessie in the first book, but I thought maybe I'd like her more once I got into her head. Nope, I liked her even less. While some of the pranks she pulls are funny, some are mean and done with malice. She's a twenty something about to have a baby, but acts like preteen with her tantrums and whining. Drew isn't totally innocent and does play pranks too, but he also has moments where he's sweet to Jessie. Remembering foods she likes and doesn't, giving her massages when she's achy, caring about her health. I'm not sure how he put up with her ridiculousness.
Jessie has experienced a lot of loss already and it translates to her pushing everyone away and never accepting help. I understand that and think she could really benefit from therapy to work through her feelings of abandonment. I gave her some leeway because of this, but it doesn't excuse the mean things she says.
I did like Drew a lot, he's a nice guy and really cares about his patients. He was made to be an OB/GYN and seeing how happy he is to answer questions from the nervous mothers was adorable. Drew made this for me and if it weren't for him, I would have stopped reading.

there isn’t much i need to say, because, hello. it’s sarah adams. i’ve now come to the conclusion that she’s an autobuy author for me, hence the fact i have every one of her books she’s published so far on my shelf. i wish i could have more sophisticated taste in books, but here i am, staying up for hours reading some cringey little romance book. i’m not going to pretend i wasn’t glued to my reading chair, unable to pick up my phone or tolerate any distractions (surprisingly). i promise i won’t only read romance for the rest of the year……i mean..i’ll try…
anyway, this one was one of her cringier ones. the main female character was a bit annoying throughout, but i can’t blame her otherwise because she was pregnant and dealing with a lot.
so..that is my only complaint—the cheesiness. otherwise, this was SO cute. the male character was perfect. as always. almost too good to be true, but i don’t want to think about that. i will find me a man like sarah adam’s characters. i will.
the fact that Drew loved Jessie no matter what and was willing to give up his carefully planned life for her was everything.
and i do have to mention, i’ve never read a pregnancy romance before. i have read single mother romances and ones where the couple eventually decides to have a baby, but never where the female main character is already pregnant. i just haven’t found a lot of books with that trope. surprisingly, it was almost better. the main characters were able to achieve a deep level of intimacy without doing anything sexual. i was excited whenever they simply held hands or said something nice to each other. but when they did kiss and began deepening their relationship with one another, i was still so invested.
the Cooper and Lucy crumbs were adorable too!! that’s why i love her little series. along with the main romance, there are still also moments with the characters from the previous book. Copper was so funny. his relationship with Drew was what started it all. the dating situation is hilarious. Cooper dating Drew’s sister and Drew dating his sister’s best friend. gotta love that Sarah Adams stayed consistent with the tropes in this mini series.
overall, i probably will forget about this book in a few days, but i enjoyed it so much! can’t wait for her new release (my calendar is marked and my alarms are set).

“Jessie is starting to make sense to me, and she's only becoming more beautiful as she comes into focus.”
This was cute, funny and wholesome just what I needed and expected from Sarah Adams. The enemies to lovers was done well but I think it was more of hate to love not actual real enemies to lovers because Jessie hated Drew for his perfection.
Drew is the best thing about this book. This man is just perfect. He knows how to love and care for Jessie. He was there for her and her baby even though she annoyed and humiliated him with her her fake engagement revenge plan.
Jessie was annoying for the 80% of the book and I did not liked her techniques for getting revenge on Drew. She humiliated him in front of everyone and he still treated her with love and care. Jessie's hate for Drew was because of her abandonment issues and it's okay but this woman forgets that she was seven months pregnant.
The romance was cute. They always fight and bicker over small things because they like each other but both are affraid of getting attached to each other because their so called fake-girlfriend-living-arrangement had an expiry date. I would've loved it more had they talked more openly about their feelings for each other in the start and especially Jessie because she was in denial for almost the 80% of the book. Drew was so kind and sweet for accepting Jessie and her baby and I liked how he loved Jessie and Jane.
What I liked the most is that this book had no third-act breakup! The ending was so cute! Overall, this book was a fine cutesy and funny rom-com.

May 15, 2021this goes against everything i like reading. i literally despise any pregnancy/baby content and yet i still read it (granted i didn’t bother reading the description before i started it, that’s on me) and it was actually good and super cute? i’m so pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed it. drew should get a sleeve though. only one tattoo is a SIN.

Did I say the previous book was juvenile? Because this book really surpassed it and I'm not even disappointed at the moment. I knew I was going to be disappointed when I started this book. I don't know why all the characters she writes are so whiny and act worse than teenagers.
Okay I'm gonna repeat myself but please, just please stop showing the characters as enemies.... when one moment they're like "you're my enemy!" And playing silly pranks on each other and the next "Oh I love him". Can I ask ask authors to make the enemies seem more like enemies and not just 'oh you did this? Now I'm gonna hate you' nah that's a misunderstanding... and I find it ironic that she calls Drew 'selfish' but then she is the one who is the 'selfish' one.
The pranks, as much as they should have been hilarious, they weren't and the proposal prank was so messed up on different levels. This is honestly so stupid. AND I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Jessie was pregnant because yes while I do understand the mood swings pregnant women have, she was basically another immature child.
While I did hate Drew in the first book, this book did show a nice side to Drew and he was adorable at times. But there was absolutely no chemistry and I honestly couldn't wrap my head around how he dealt with Jessie. And as is with Sarah's books there must just be something she likes about the 'miscommunation trope' :/
And the whole birth was just PURE cringe.
Once again I'm never gonna hate anyone who enjoyed this book, it's their choice but I'm just too determined to think that now her books are definitely not for me. The TemporaryRoomie is not as good as I expected. The beginning of the story, it l9oks really good then the middle part becomes boring and the last part is flat.
The banter is not that funny either. It sounds childish actually. There is no fundamental condition why Drew and Jessie hate each other. With that lack of fundamental, the character is not develop well.

The story was cute, but I just really couldn’t stand Jessie. She was just so childish and her actions weren’t cute or funny, I just couldn’t torelate her. Drew, however, was great and was the only reason why I kept reading.

Fine but it felt a little too much like the previous book.
Also, you don't slam down the trunk of a Jeep Wrangler. Its a door that swings out. The glass window goes down, but there's some air pressure there and can't be slammed. And that bothers me.

In this book we got to see Lucy’s, from The Off Limits Rule, brother, Drew meets his match with Lucy’s boss from the beauty salon. Jessie is the perfect match for Drew and some of their pranks had me lol’ing for real.
Now that I’ve read 4 books from Sarah Adam’s, I can safely say I’m a fan and will definitely be on the watch for more of her work.

This was suuuuuper funny in the first half, but the pranks and bickering got old after a while. I was waiting to see some maturity in the characters and their relationship, that didn’t quite happen even in the end, in my opinion.
I liked it enough to finish it, so that’s something!
The guy’s chapters were the best. The dude narrating them was so funny.
Only kissing, but lots of suggestive language about what they wanted to do. It wasn’t written poorly in my opinion.

The Temporary Roommate by Sarah Adams was a delightful, feel-good read that I couldn’t put down. The story centers around Jessie, who is trying to start fresh after a tough breakup, and Drew, her best friend’s brother. Their forced cohabitation leads to some great moments of awkwardness, humor, and unexpected connection.

jessie is in serious need of a favor: she needs a place to stay while her house is being fixed. drew is in the same situation: he needs a fake date for an event with his colleagues. roomies and fake dating who hate each other.. what could go wrong? the house becomes a battlefield of pranks that, inevitably, will blur the barriers between hate and love.
this book is without a doubt my new favorite by sarah. jessie and drew have a ton of chemistry and i couldn’t stop smiling through the entirety of the book. let me list the tropes because they’re my top tier ones:
- enemies to lovers
- pregnancy
- fake dating
- roommates
and all of them so perfectly woven i couldn’t believe i got so lucky. jessie was an amazing heroine. she’s had enough heartbreak for the rest of her life and the fact that she’s still sweet, nice and caring made me love her a lot. i wanted to hug her and be her second best friend all the time. drew was so dreamy! in the first book i wanted to glare at him to leave lucy and cooper alone (only child struggles), but in this book i absolutely wanted to glue myself to him because, uh, perfection does exist and his name is andrew marshall. he’s sweet and sensible and seriously, if men like him exist i’ll gladly take one, thank u very much. the romance was the best kind: a bit of a slowburn but with gestures that didn’t make me want to reach the big moment soon. i wanted all the pranks, small touches and hidden smiles.
as always with sarah’s books, this one was an instant serotonin rush. seriously. i can’t get enough of her characters, her stories, her funny dialogues and beautiful, mushy happy endings. for as long as i can, i will read everything sarah adams publishes.

Full transparency, this is one of those books I shouldn’t have read because I will be unfairly judging it based off the actual basis of the book
This book was cute, but I was hoping for a lot more from it than what I got. Also, I think I’m growing out of the enemies to lovers trope because I hardly ever read a book that is actual enemies turned lovers anymore and I’m realizing that it kinda bothers me when it’s not a true enemies starting point…
This one was more of ‘they always fight and bicker because they liked each other but she was afraid to let anyone get close to her and knew he would be easy to fall for’. Does that even count as a miscommunication trope? I’m not sure, but I kept wishing she would just come out and share her feelings instead of hiding them cause she’s scared of falling in love.
Also, the fact that she was 7 months pregnant, they only met for the first time when she was already pregnant (with someone else’s baby) and it ended up in a perfect HEA all within the span of 3 months… without a serious talk of what jumping into a relationship when she’s prego with someone else’s baby means… idk, bugged me a little. Wanted more in that area altogether.
But it was cute, had some really funny scenes, good banter and tension and overall a fine read… probably woulda loved this alot more a year ago when I was more into cutesy rom-coms

- hate to love
- romcom
- fake dating
this book is so wholesome and hilarious. I've been so obsessed with drew and jessie since the off limits rule! in this book, jessie needs to stay somewhere while her house got renovated and drew also needs someone to be his fake date in an upcoming event, so what next? they agreed to help each other anddddd it's a war of pranks between them. (love it)
the chemistry between them is just so perfect, their banters and their pranks are always funny and so entertaining. there are a lot of laugh out loud moments in this book, the one with taco robe is still ingrained in my brain. i def love watching drew and jessie's development from hating each other to slowly become friends and then more. also Sarah's writing has always been exceptional she could write about chicken flying and i would still devour it.

This was a good book! I mean it is your typical “I hate him so f* much, let’s do pranks on each other” vibe. But then the vibe is more like “wait, I might actually like him”. Debo ser honesta: me gustó más el primer libro.
¿Por qué? Jessica se me hizo insoportable, no la amé como personaje secundario porque es demasiado inmadura y antipática. Detesto cuando los personajes usan de excusa que los abandonaron en la vida para ser unos desagradables. Eso fue lo que me hizo odiar cada vez que ella abría la boca. Ella esperaba que Drew adivinara todo lo que le pasaba sin siquiera decirle algo.
Drew me sorprendió muchísimo. En el primer libro lo vemos como un idiota por intentar que Cooper y Lucy no estén juntos, ya que es sobreprotector. En su historia lo conocemos a mayor profundidad, nos enteramos de que es de estas personas que tratan de arreglar todo para que ninguno de los que ama sufra, por lo que no se da tiempo para ser feliz o espontáneo, lo entiendo porque yo soy así. Adoré este personaje sin duda alguna. Ojalá tener a alguien así cuando sea grande.
Este libro tenía mucho potencial, contaba con tres de las mejores tropas para mí: enemies to lovers, roommates y relación fingida, pero Jess hizo que todo fuese muy tedioso. Si el personaje no fuese tan inmaduro me encantaría este libro. De verdad que ella fue lo que me arruinó toda la trama.
No es un mal libro, puede que el problema fuese muy personal porque no soporto a la gente que es así de niña a la edad que tiene y más encima esperando un bebé.
¿Lo recomiendo? Si, es ligero y te enamorarás de Drew. Te advierto que no vengas con las expectativas altas porque te pasará como yo que esperabas una relación linda como la de Cooper y Lucy, pero te encuentras con un chico que da todo de sí por una chica que (en mi opinión) no lo merece.
