CadenceI wanted one night to be spontaneous. A night to let off some steam and celebrate. And her daddy, every other memory I have is of him, and the night I’ll never forget.TrevinI was escaping another instance of being the third wheel with my sister and her new husband. I just needed some air and a beer. However, when I laid eyes on the dark-haired beauty at the bar, something pulled me toward her.No names. No promises. Just one night, that’s how it started, but that’s not how I wanted it to end. Too bad for me, she snuck out before I could tell her. Every day she’s on my mind. She’s ruined me for other women. One line was not needed

When she has not seen him for a year, after she has his baby, he asks her if she had been with anyone else and she simply says no, and she asks him, and he says no but not for lack of trying. Oh hell no! Just say no. He said he tried random hook ups but after ' a kiss or two' he couldn't do it. They weren't her. But I call BS. Sorry. I mean just say no. That's all he had to say. Men. Oh well. I liked how he loved his little girl from the start and I loved how she named her daughter after the color of his eyes. It was short and sweet and I loved the two epilogues.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

4.5/5 stars
Cadence and Trevin meet at a bar, their chemistry is super hot and after a few dances they head to a hotel where they have sex all night long. He’s in town visiting his sister who is married to his best friend, Steve and she is celebrating passing her therapist board exams. Cadence is a virgin, no mention of how long for Trevin since his last hookup. He’s all into her and she’s feeling the same way, their connection is deep. But she thinks he’s in it for a one night stand and feeling overwhelmed she sneaks out. Fast forward one year, Cadence has a little girl named Hazel, she named her after her dad’s beautiful hazel eyes. She feels tremendous guilt over leaving and not knowing any info on him, not even a name. Her two besties know him only as Hazel eyes. (Although her bestie, Shelby took a picture of him, why they did not show her other bestie, Thea, she’s is Trevin’s sister!) He has been avoiding coming back to town because he misses his dream girl and the memories are to painful. The only person he told about her is his best friend Steve, who shares the info with Thea, But no one puts the info together cause he left out where they met.
When he arrives at his sisters place she is watching her neighbor’s daughter. He holds her and soothes her when she’s crying, the baby quiets down with him. When Cadence arrives to pick up Hazel, they are both shocked and surprised when they see each other. He asks how old the baby is and knows it’s his daughter. They go across the hall to Cadence’s apartment. She keeps apologizing because she left and couldn’t tell him about Hazel. He’s mad but realizes he’s as much to blame, he should have told her he had developed feelings for her during their night together, he planned to in the morning, but she was already gone. He’s super sweet with Hazel and to Cadence. Very little awkward time, they pretty much jump right into bed. He does ask if she’s been with anyone, she hasn’t. She asks him, he says he tried to hook up a few times but couldn’t get past a kiss or two because the ladies weren’t her. I did not like that, he could have come back to town to try and find her, he didn’t, instead he says she ruined him. But clearly not enough for him to do anything about it and to try not once but a few times to hook up. Nope! He redeems himself a little by asking to transfer his job to Indianapolis, sells his house in Lexington, and they start looking for a new bigger house. Lots of I love yous, epilogue with him proposing in their new house and five years later with two more kids.
Loved Cadence, she is a strong woman who is smart and capable, she uses her brains and her support system, to make a good life for Hazel and herself. Which was very important to her since she grew up in Foster care. Trevin had many good qualities but his not trying to find Cadence was a big mark against him. And to try hooking up with other women, that’s not very hero like. But as soon as he sees her he’s back in love again, insert eye roll.

I am pretty sure I have already read this beauty, but may be a while since. So re reading it felt like the first time and I am glad BECAUSE I LOVED IT! Kaylee seriously can write and give us a fantastic HEA with heat and romance. This was the sweetest read, on the shorter side so I read it in one sitting. Hunky Hero, Sweet Heroine and you mix in a accidental pregnancy and you get SWOONY HERO and STRONG MAMA! Really loved their story!! p.s. this is Trevin he works for Riggins Enterprise :)

Every Other Memory by Kaylee Ryan was a story that had me hooked, and I came close to giving it a four-star rating. I adored the characters and the story, and I could not get enough of the way things unfolded. There were a couple of things throughout that I’m not a fan of, however, and that’s why I rounded my rating down, as had these things been changed just slightly there would have been a much deeper connection to the story.

Although not quite everything I had hoped, it was certainly an addictive read.

This easily could have been a 5 star read, but as it was only about 75 pages long,it felt rushed to me,but still a quick, easy read before bedtime.

3.5 star! I frequently talk about how some novellas should be expanded into full-length books because they are so excellent. One of those novellas is this one. This novella, in my opinion, was both well written and hot. This one was particularly fantastic since I enjoy the one-night stand/second chance romance and the single parent trope. Just a bit longer and less hurried would have been nice.

Coração quentinho 🥰

"There are so many things that we’re going to have to work out, but I want you. I want both of you.”

Clichêzinho delicioso, com uma bebê fofa, personagens engraçados e casal com uma química gostosa que te envolve desde o começo.

O único defeito pra mim é ser tão curtinho, queria mais 🤧🥺

— She’s going to have a real family. Something I never had.
— It’s not just her, Cadence. It’s you too. You’re her mother. My family is your family. You’re my family.

Trev and Cadence knew each other in a club. No names, no fone exchange and the best night of their lives.
This story is about fate.

Trev’s the Prince Charming every girl desires. He’s the best for Cad and their baby girl.
Cadence had a childhood without love and care - and that’s everything she wants for his daughter.
The family moments were so sweet 🥹 and the spicy stuff well placed and hot 🤌🏻

✅ Instalove
✅ One night stand
✅ Surprise pregnancy

Oh, and I’m a goner for child nicknames! 🗣️

An excellent read to decompress ❤️

Quick fun read. Very sweet. Almost sweeter than Hallmark.
A one night stand. They both feel an instant connection. But Cadence, for whom life has been a struggle, gets morning after jitters, and leaves before Trevin awakes. They didn’t trade numbers or even names.
Fast forward and Cadence is pregnant from her first and only experience. Even if she can’t find her mystery man, Hazel Eyes, she’s thrilled that she will finally have a family (former foster kid).
Fast forward a bit more and Trevin finds her. He’s the brother of one of her friends.
There’s no drama from the missed pregnancy. No drama of other partners.
It’s just a very sweet story of their connection and Yrevin growing to love his baby girl and her mother.

I wasn’t expecting much with only 91 pages, but this story was sooo far-fetched. Literally everything about both people was perfect, neither one had a single flaw. It was just too sweet and hard to believe, almost made it a little gag worthy if we’re being honest. I don’t understand the reviews claiming there was spice? The spice was almost non-existent.

Every Other Memory de Kaylee Ryan dentro de la colección de romance Knocked Up Secret Baby por varias autoras

Argumento:

Cadence

this is the cringiest book i’ve ever read.
91 pages is REALLY short for a romance book. there isn’t enough space for the plot or for the characters to develop.
the story moved so fast that i could not care about them or their story. there wasn’t enough time spent to make the reader really care.

it is pretty far fetched that two people can be in love with each other without knowing anything about each other.
these characters hook up 30 minutes after meeting. and by the time they reunite and he meets his daughter, they’ve known each other all of 6 hours.

it rubbed me the wrong way how he says “baby” “my girls” “light of my life” and all these things. like the same day that they meet again.
and i love how he was committed to them immediately but it just icked me out how he approached the situation.

of all the things that happened. i cannot believe that he used the word “digit” in reference to his finger.
i could have screamed!!!!

Tyler & Cadence

Ok so I didn’t think I would get so emotional with such a short story but Kaylee knows how to pack a punch. What starts as a night out to celebrate her graduation ends up giving Cadence so much more than she expected. She meets Hazel Eyes and they share an incredible night together. Cadence slinks out of their hotel room out of fear for being rejected. 13 months later she comes face to face with Hazel Eyes holding their daughter.

Their story was emotional and beautiful. While no one was at fault for the time lost between the two, Tyler does everything he can to show Cadence and their daughter that he is in it for the long haul. The emotions and connection between them was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

Why are books with the most interesting premises, ideas, tropes,… so short?

I want more!!!

All was well until he went all “I want you”, “my girls”, “my family”, “babe”,… right after they reconnected.

Which I have to give it to him for being so committed, but the way he did it put me off a bit, it was so cliché and insta-lovey.

It probably had a lot to do with the length of the book, given how it was too short with too little space for the storyline to develop further and the characters to fully express themselves.

What a shame.

cute novella

A cute and easy read. For a novella, this had a good plot and development. Tevin and Cadence meet at a club. They have one night together. Cadence slips out without the two ever exchanging names. Their one night leads to an unexpected surprise. After thirteen months, the two find themselves reconnected. I enjoyed the reconnect between the two. Every Other Memory will tug on your heart strings.

Steamy and Sweet

An exciting passionate evening of celebration with a handsome stranger followed by regret of not being able to find each other again followed by some very clever plot twists makes for a steamy, well written story that I won't spoil for you. I hate reviews that read like book reports and spoil the read for me.

This is a short book but still lovely. In books where there’s a misunderstanding or an event that keeps the hero & heroine apart, when they finally see each other again they inevitable forget how badly they’ve been pining for the other and one if not both of them say mean things. I can never understand why every author seems to do this… but not with this one. I won’t spoil too much but I will say that when the main characters finally see each other after a year of being apart they acted how they felt, relieved to see each other again and emotional at some things came to light. I want to say I truly appreciated that since this was shorter than the norm the author didn’t do a ton of drama, including not going in-depth into the hard childhood the heroine endured. She allowed her to tell her story to the hero without reliving and focusing on it too much. The focus of this book was on building the relationship between characters. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a sweet read.

I give this either a 3.5 or 4 star rating I enjoyed the story and really liked the characters together along with their little family but it definitely felt rushed when he found out but I'm glad they did date for a bit after before doing anything super major and they are really cute together so it's alright It was a very quick read finished in one sitting

Cadence Wade & Trevin Hubbard
+ baby Hazel Marie (named after her Daddy who Mom referred to as Hazel Eyes)

Short & sweet. An anonymous hookup results in a baby girl. The Mom tries & fails to find the father, only to run into him in the most unlikely of places.

Low angst. Just some heavy yearning when they did not know how to find each other again.

very cute <3 big fan of this book serving its purpose.
didn’t have much time before bed, needed a quick read bc I know myself and I would’ve kept reading if I started a new one tonight, and then there was this book sitting in the ‘quick reads’ category on my kindle.
she served her purpose so the 4 is deserved.

Every Other Memory is a cozy novella with a surprise pregnancy trope. Honestly, if you're looking for something with no angst, no real drama, and you like a good pregnancy trope, this is the novella for you. I really enjoyed it. It was a quick read and you can't help but like Trevin (unfortunate name) and Cadence.
