No idea how to rate it. I will be thinking about this for a while. The author is psychologically, philosophically, sharp. I think I could really be friends with this guy, even as he would find my faith...naive/self-gaslighting, etc.
I found his stuff on the Scriptures most helpful, probing. I've had similar thoughts re: how many conceive of canonicity. While I haven't fully settled my own thoughts, I find Orthodox understandings, based on my limited understanding, more sensible than what I have receive in reformed evangelical environments.
This stuff will make any Christian believer think, doubt, rethink. Maybe you will leave this and lose faith. Maybe you all adjust your faith. Maybe you will come up with counterarguments.
You won't leave this book, I think, thinking the author to be a simpleton or naive.
