Words are magic, and Ellie Lieberman has been enamored with the magic of storytelling since before she could hold a pencil. She learned how to write so she could write her stories. Though her books vary between ages and genre, one element that is always a guarantee is the light in the dark, from the flicker of a candle to dragon fire.

This book was phenomenal! I loved everything about it. Between the amazing, Dimensional characters and the friendships and the fight scenes and the intense edge of your seat scenes. Ari and Henry are definitely my favorites, and I absolutely love their friendship as well. They are such a chaotic and dangerous duo. You just can't help but love them. The twists, too. The final few chapters were especially exilerating. This book did make me cry in the end, but every page is worth it. I highly recommend this book, and I cannot wait for the release of book 2.

Lost prince

Henry is the lost prince. With the help of Ari and others he takes back his birthright. Ellie Lieberman spins a great tale of lost princes and battles. A great read!

Ari has had to fight for every moment of her life. Her father taught hard lessons after the death of her mother and while her brothers made life bearable she left when she could. Still, something always brought her home when Father wasn't there. Eventually. Although the time had created a distance between herself and her brothers they never refused to take her in. Nor the person she took under her care, Henry. Henry had a secret of his own and would stop at nothing to get to the kingdom his mother was from. With the loss of his brother the family residing there was all he had left that he cared about. His father, however, had other ideas and his guards will stop at nothing to see him brought home.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Perspectives in this book jump from character to character so we can better see their point of view. Henry shows us that hate and pain can fall on anyone, even a noble while Ari shows us that no matter how little you have there is still time to help others.

I enjoyed this story as our characters fought to be themselves. Free of the burdens of their pasts. No sacrifice is too big as we see within these pages, although I wish the end sacrifice hadn't happened. You'll see what I mean. It sucks. Every other point in the book is filled with action, budding romance, and genuine human connections.

The book was well written and I look forward to more books from this author in the future. Hopefully with a little less trauma. Side note: I really hope the twin is okay.

BE by Ellie Lieberman was a delightful historical fantasy with runaway princes, difficult families, and kingdoms in turmoil. I love a story with really interesting characters, and I was captivated by the relationships between the characters in Be. Ari is our main character and has grown up to be tough and a survivor. She has four brothers and the relationship within that family is so great to read on page. The older brothers (I found them to be two of my favorite characters) can be harsh and demanding, but it’s because they are worried about everyone’s survival. When Ari brings Henry, a prince who is secretly on the run, to hide into their home, it sparks fierce debate. And of course there are more surprises yet to come. I really adored this young adult fantasy read and am excited to hear there will be more books coming up to continue the series! 5/5 stars.

This book is a heavy hitting novel that is best described through its title: Be. It is about being, about existing and trying to work past the traumas and tribulations. It is about trying to break free of the cage of trauma and just BE.

I think this could best be described as a historical fiction with a bit of a fairytale feel. I found the main characters Ari and Henry an interesting pair, and was very invested in learning their histories as well as how they would move past their traumas.

I do have mixed feelings about the ending, as I was definitely not expecting it, but I shall remain silent as not to spoil anything. It was a very fabulous read, and if you like deep, raw characters then this book is definitely for you. All the characters were very well done and three dimensional.

In her book 'Be,' author Ellie Lieberman chronicles the story of Henry, a runaway prince, alongside the streetwise Ari and her band of family and friends who help him survive.

Both Henry and Ari’s families have dealt with tragedy and hardship in their own ways. Together, they create an unstoppable force for the good of both their futures.

'Be' is just a unique and immersive tale about friendship and survival in the face of tragedy. As a reader, you come to admire Ari's strength and perseverance, Henry's kindness, and their teamwork against greater powers that seek to destroy. Overall, a great read and highly recommended!

Be is a thoughtful story that shares the ebb and flow of two families as they attempt to move forward from the tragedy and heartache that life has dealt them. One is poor, and one rules the land, but their struggles are shockingly similar, demonstrating that money and power are not markers of happiness. Be explores themes such as loyalty to friends and family, the cost of freedom, and dealing with painful pasts in order to embrace a person’s destiny.

One of Lieberman’s strengths lies in her ability to develop characters. By the end of the book, I felt as if I knew these characters inside and out. I understood their strengths and weaknesses, their hopes and fears. Lieberman also weaves various valuable life lessons through the story that might be especially helpful for a young adult reader. For example, she explores how a person’s past shapes who they are in the present and even how they might be in the future. This ties in nicely with whether a person can change who they are at their core or if they even want to. She also explores the thoughts about the cost of freedom and what it means to love others so much that you are willing to sacrifice everything for them.

Be is set in a time with kings and castles, so I expected the dialogue to be a bit more formal. At times, I noticed more modern words and phrases being used, and, for me, this seemed to clash somewhat with the story’s setting. There were also times when I wish the action scenes had lasted longer and had more detail. I believe this would have helped propel the story forward in an even more exciting way.

Overall, this is an entertaining, easy read that moves quickly. I am thrilled that Lieberman chose to expand her target audience to include young adult and adult readers, and I look forward to reading her future work.
