Brooke and Melanie Chandler were so different it was hard to believe they were sisters. One was a dark, serious, ambitious New York attorney; the other, a golden, glamorous, sophisticated supermodel. But they were more than sisters--they were twins, joined by bonds stronger than trust, more lasting than faith. Bonds that could survive jealousy, separation, bitterness... even betrayal. For Brooke and Melanie were more alike than even they knew...

It was a sweet story of love. There was romance, anguish, terror, misunderstandings, and happy endings for all. It's definitely a feel good story that's meant to give you warm, fluffy feelings. My only complaint is that it became a little formulaic at times and the characters fell into tragic hero/heroine stereotypes. I would have liked a little more character development and uniqueness. However, if someone loves romance and happy endings then this is definitely the book for them. The writing style works and wasn't rough or jarring. Sometimes it felt a little redundant, but I'm not one for a lot of mushy or emotional love scenes.

Sweet baby Jesus, that was bad. It was one of the most flowery and overwrought books I've ever read. Nearly all the plot "twists" happen because NO ONE USES THEIR FUCKING WORDS. Seriously. These people will ignore their "one true love" for years when a simple conversation would have cleared it all up. And this happened at least 10 times.

The serial murderer was laughable. I legit cackled when they would do a chapter from his POV. All twirly-mustache, my-plasma-ray-will-soon-destroy-Metropolis. In case you don't get that he's all evil because of the multiple murders and stuff, he talks about KILLING in ALL CAPS because apparently that's what VILLAINS DO.

I gave it an extra star for nostalgia, but I bought 3 books of hers before I read one, and Imma have to return these little gems to Amazon. I hate pre-teen me so fucking hard right now.

Twins

Twins book I couldn’t put it down. The story was about love, betrayal and a serial killer. I would never have guessed who the serial killer was.

A generous three stars. Did every character have to misunderstand what was happening? And blame themselves for mixed communication?

Sometimes you just want to spend time with an old friend (even if it isn’t the old friend you expected)

I recieved this book through a First Reads give away, and after reading the synopsis on the back of the book, I was expecting a tense thriller filled with dramatic near death moments. That wasn't the book I ended up reading. Yes, the plot line with the Manhattan serial killer is there, and relevant to the story. But the romances between the characters created in the first part of the book are the real reason this book is enjoyable. Her characters are endlessly charming, and easy to care for, to the point that I felt more invested in making sure they ended up in happy couples than I was in finding the book's killer. It's a very enjoyable book.

As many stories go the characters don't talk to one another thus one issue after the other. I realize these stories are fiction but every character in this book talks in their head and not to the other people. Example: Galen sees Jason in bed with Fran and never confronts him or discusses it with him. Needless to say it was absolutely stupid that he went to bed with Fran just to prove it was over between them and he could just snuggle. (GIVE ME A BREAK (STUPID). And this was the case throughout the whole book. No one ever tells anyone anything they are thinking or feeling. And, that is every character.

Another "go-to" book for me... Bought it a drugstore in Bardstown KY while there for a weekend get-away. Love the characters and the storyline. It was my first Katherine Stone novel, and she has become one of my favorite authors. But "Twins" is my favorite novel of hers.

Twins was a good read for me. Two sisters (twins) who are not so much alike. Something about twins I like reading....anyway there is also a obsessed killer watching them!
