Sedona Rose is a 30-something black indie romance hailing from South Carolina. She writes about black love with real feelings! Her goal is to make sure you feel the love through the pages. You can catch her watching the Carolina Panthers, anime, or reading when she's not writing.
The One: A Jones Hill Novelette by Sedona Rose is about college students Spencer Hutchinson and Asia. Asia has recently come out of situationship and is feeling sad, it doesn’t help that her weekend away is interrupted by dude and the girl he told her not to worry about. Plus she’s the fifth wheel at Jones Hill Music Festival, all her line sisters are boo’d up! Then comes Spencer, the cousin of one of her line sisters boyfriend. When Spencer meets Asia it’s love at first sight and although he’s a football player he hits her with the full court press! This is an instalove story, it’s extremely fast paced and takes place within 2 days. Spencer and Asia definitely have sexual chemistry but I don’t believe the love at least not on Asia’s part. The one connection just isn’t believable to me, it feels like she wants to be in a relationship because he’s a nice guy and she’s tired of being the odd man out. There were also errors that made understanding who was speaking difficult. This is a cute read, If you’re about that Greek life this story may speak to you. P.s. It was fun catching up with Anthony and Michelle.
This was a cute insta romance. For me, I wish there was a little more SOMETHING when it came to their very first connection / meeting and to the story showing more of the weekend festivities and their budding connection. Outside of that, I enjoyed this quick read and definitely will look forward to more books by Sedona Rose.
This was a nice, short novelette. Asia didn't have luck in the relationship department but Spencer changed all that for her. Their instant attraction, and the support of their friends helped with the start of a blossoming relationship. I would love to read more about these two.
This is probably my favorite instant love romance stories. I absolutely love Spencer and Asia. They are so cute and like another reviewer said, when you know you know. The "adult scene" was spicy. I could feel their attraction to each other. Oh, that feeling of finding "your one". This book made me want that even more.
This was a cute Insta love story!! I loved how Spencer was not afraid to express himself to Asia! This was my first read by this author and I look forward to reading more! Most definitely a must read!
Sedona Rose introduces us to Asia & Spencer in this quick romance novella.
This was a super cute, quick, fun read. I was able to easily relate to the characters and the storyline. There were grammatical errors, but nothing major that took away from the overall enjoyment.
This was my first read by the author and I look forward to reading more about these characters and whatever else she has planned next for us.
The One is exactly the kind of soft, sweet romance that makes you smile without even noticing. Asia and Spencer click the moment they meet, and I loved how Spencer did not waste time claiming her as his from the start. Their connection feels natural and refreshing, the kind of chemistry that settles in quickly and makes you believe that sometimes the right person really does show up at the right time. Watching them navigate what it means to be each other’s “one” made the story even more charming.
The college atmosphere adds so much warmth to the book. The sororities and fraternities, the campus events, the late night plans and little moments of chaos and fun all give this story the perfect young adult feel without making it childish. Sedona Rose does a great job balancing romance with the energy of early adulthood when life is full of firsts, big emotions, and new possibilities. It made me miss parts of that era in the best way.
What I loved most is how easy the story is to fall into. Asia and Spencer handle their feelings with honesty, care, and a lot of swoon worthy moments that make you root for them instantly. The book stays light but still meaningful, which makes the journey even sweeter. By the end, I was already excited for where the series goes next because this definitely feels like the beginning of something bigger. It is cute, warm, and exactly the kind of read you pick up when you want to feel good.
I loved Spencer and the guys. I loved how vulnerable Spencer was and how emotionally open the guys were. I loved how classy everyone was and how they didn’t need to call each other nigga, hoe and bitch. They used each other’s name. It was refreshing. I also liked the fact they chose the high road when faced with a situation that could have gotten ugly. I wish we could see John’s face when realizes what leveling up looks like.
Short, sweet, and right to the good meat! I loved the connection between Asia and Spence from their first interaction. Bro was BDE from jump street and didn’t waste his or her time at all. Also, her circle of sisters was awesome, there wasn’t a negative or judgmental comment made at all for her experience with her ex and that’s key for any friend going through in the group always. Can’t wait to read more from her
I thought the story had a lot of potential. Novelettes are always a tease but I absolutely love instalove stories. I think the part that resonated the most was the fact you never have to settle for less than you deserve. Love is out there you just have to be ready and willing to receive it
This was a super cute short. I'm happy Asia found someone as straightforward as Spencer because this could have got drawn out with her feeling insecure. I think this is my first book by this author, but I'll be looking to try more.
From self doubt to feeling secure. Who knew a random bump could change so much. I’m so glad she met the one . I wish we could learn more about this couple’s future.
Oh wow, this novella was adorable. The One” was concise! I loved Spencer’s approach…for his career, his family, the music festival & women. Much respect to Ms Rose 💐👏🏾👏🏽👏🏿. This character, he was on a mission & found “The One”, his one. Cool😊‼️
I ate this book up. Sedona packed so much in 69 pages and I want more. I felt like I was back on the yard with this one. Asia & Spencer are to cute. Asia is healing from a situation-ship and Spencer is ready to find his one. Sedona painted the perfect picture of the friends group and where Asia & Spencer would fit in. I am a simp for chivalry. The spicy was top notch. Read this and lets talk about it.
