God I’ve been so excited for this book! The HOT series is probably my all time favorite series and anytime these books come out, I literally drop everything that I’m doing, stop reading my current book, and just dive right into the new HOT book. And let me tell ya, this one is perfect!
So it’s finally Noah “easy” Cross’s turn on the love train, and boy does Noah not disappoint at all! Noah’s entire world is upended when he finds out his foster sister died and he’s suddenly the legal guardian of her two-year-old child, Alice, who is quite the cutie! Noah has no experience with children and has no clue what to do with this his cute little niece. And that’s where Jenna Lane comes into play.
Now Jenna’s been on the run for a couple months after hearing her boss get murdered. She’s been working at a little diner for a while and it’s one that Noah frequents and always asks for her section. And thankfully for Noah, Jenna comes to the rescue when little Alice starts crying and asking for her mama, which makes Noah realize he needs a nanny, and who better to ask than the woman currently consoling the child? Problem is Jenna says no…or she does until she gets fired from the diner and needs a job.
So now Jenna is living with Noah and Alice, taking care of the little girl and trying to deny her feelings for the very attractive special ops soldier. Sounds like an easy time right? Haha, yeah…sure. And of course, Noah is also trying to deny his feelings for his nanny because, well, she’s the nanny. Duh.
I honestly don’t think I could ever explain how much I love this series and how each book just gets better and better. Like who doesn’t love a special ops military man (sometimes woman) who ends up falling in love with someone who needs their help? Like, romance, action, chemistry, witty banter and funny moments? Seriously, what more could you ask for?
Especially when it’s someone like Noah, who is so kind and considerate and perfect and handsome and charming and funny…I digress. And Noah and Jenna’s relationship is so cute and relieving because it’s real. They deny their feelings but when they give in, they fall fast but it’s not unrealistic. Lynn is always good about making these relationships realistic, which I love!
And can we talk about little Alice being so cute and how precious Noah is when he holds her and teaches her things and she calls him “unk no”? Like god my heart is shattering!
Little updates on the rest of the team! We do get to hear from the entire team, even Jake and Eva are mentioned! Cade and Brooke are trying for a baby, which if you read the bonus epilogue, she’s pregnant in that! Haylee and Wolf are still expecting their baby. Bliss and Sky are still happily engaged as is Mal and Scarlett! Gem is single throughout this entire book until the bonus epilogue, where it mentions he’s getting married, so I’m thinking that’s probably gonna be a short novella, kind of like Billy’s book? Maybe? Also we get a short little scene with Mendez as he walks Jenna down the aisle!
As of right now, Dax’s book is the next one out, which I’m super excited for as he has to protect a romance writer!
