“I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.”
Lady Edyth Oakden has been living with a weight on her heart: She's been in love with her best friend all her life. Still, there is something holding her back: If you have Brandon does not return her feelings, not only will their friendship be ruined, but so will her chances to make her family proud.
Brandon Risewell, Marquess of Belton, is not your typical noble. Resourceful businessman but introverted, he'd rather stay away from the public eye, much to his strict father's dismay. Especially when rumors about Edyth's upcoming nuptials to someone start circling the ton. Someone who is not him.
Much like in their business world, love is often unpredictable and unforgiving. And when Edyth and Brandon finally find their way down the aisle, hand in hand, they are not ready to see that it leads to a bloodied altar. All it takes is one little push...

Overall, I enjoyed the storyline. Jeremy, Brandon and Edyth have been friends since childhood. Their parents were also good friends until Jeremy's parents died in an accident. Jeremy and Brandon go into business together--importing furs. When Jeremy travels to Canada to drum up more suppliers, Edyth and Brandon wonder if they could be more than friends. Jeremy returns to find their business is struggling, and there is where the story takes off--love, deception, jealousy, and several twists and turns kept me reading into the late night hours. A few typos and repetitve phrases (rolling their eyes and ladies crossing their legs at the ankles) made it 4 stars instead of 5. I also could not open the Extended Epilogue on my Kindle Paperwhite; why couldn't it just be included in the book? Very frustrating.
Lady Edyth Oakden has been in love with her best friend, Brandon Risewell, Marquess of Belton, all her life. Brandon is introverted and prefers to stay out of the public eye. Brandon and Jeremy Hennessy, the Earl of Hillfield, were in the fur import business together. The three had been childhood friends. Jeremy had to go to Canada for business. While he was gone, Brandon and Edyth were hit with true love. There are lies and deceptions, betrayal, a truce, mystery, suspense, forgiveness, and a wonderful ending that will take you by surprise. Characters are fleshed out, the plot is well thought out and the story is well-written. Get a copy and read this wonderful story. Most enjoyable.
This story is about three childhood friends (Charlotte, Brandon and Jeremy). Their parents were all close friends so the three grew up close. Jeremy and Brandon are in a fur business venture together and due to loss of clients Jeremy goes to Canada to drum up business. While he is gone Charlotte and Brandon realize they love each other and so the story unfolds as all their lives begin to get complicated with problems and mystery. In the end all is revealed and they find their hea. Overall it was a nice read sweet romance although I do feel there were some things last did not quite make sense to me but still an enjoyable read
Lady Edyth has had two best friends her whole life. However, her heart beats for Brandon. Life got complicated when it became time to choose marriage partners. Other noble men also found Edyth attractive and chose to compete for her affections. Emma Linfield weaves this complex tapestry of the friends, family and other interested parties who tried to influence the key decisions determining the course of Edyth’s life. Needless to say, all was not as it seemed. Some of those thought to be trusted friends weren’t trustworthy at all. And not all adversaries were completely evil. The interesting plot twists keep you guessing.
This is a very good story about three friends two male and one female. Edyth loves Brandon and Jeremy loves Edyth and is enraged when Brandon and edyth becomes engaged There are twists and turns and he tries to separate them The characters are strong and emotional The extended epilogue completes the story many years later with family togetherness and happiness A very enjoyable story
With this book Emma Linfield has a hit. Lovable characters, a good story line, lots of twists and turns, a bit of mystery, an unknown villian and voila a 5 star rating from this reader in her new offering, "Insincerely yours, My Marquess."
I enjoyed this book very much. The combination of love and intrigue makes a great story. Lord Headdon seemed the perfect villain but what a surprise when the true villain was revealed.
What starts out as a delightful love story end With an unexpected twist that really caught me by surprise. The characters were endearing And I enjoyed their story
