He’s fated to die by the hands of his betrothed, and the kingdom shall succumb to darkness.
Kidnapped at birth, Vaeda has spent her life among the Moirai, carefully watching over the mortal realm and guiding her subjects toward greatness or death as the fates see fit.
When the fate of a mortal prince shifts, Vaeda sees the future of his kingdom falling to the dark mages of Caligo. The only way to prevent evil from overtaking the entire realm is to break the number one rule of the Moirai: take fate into her own hands.
But Vaeda isn’t the only one looking for the prince. Theilen, cast out from the kingdom to live among the dragons, has waited his whole life to avenge the death of his parents. Vaeda might just be his ticket back into the kingdom. He only has to keep up his ruse for a short time.
Vaeda doesn’t know Theilen's true intentions. And she doesn’t know why she’s drawn to the gruff, slightly feral beast of a man. All Vaeda knows is that she can’t allow him to sidetrack her from her real mission: Save the prince. Save the kingdom. And get out before she gets in too deep.
✓ A fresh twist on mythology ✓ Magical world-building ✓Slow-burn enemies to lovers romance
The Fateborne Trilogy is the perfect next read for romantic fantasy fans craving action, adventure, and romantic tension that's sweet with just enough heat to leave you wanting more!
It reads like YA book. I enjoyed it very much and was shouting at my kindle for the entire last quarter of the story. This book has a lot of character development. The summary says, "Slow-burn enemies to lovers romance". A slow burn indeed but the latter is debatable without spoilers. The foreshadowing is great in this story and I look forward to seeing how it plays out in the second book.
I have read another series by this author and really enjoyed it...this one is no exception! I loved how the characters were described and built up, you could really have an idea of what type of person they are even! Many times, I can predict what will happen in books but this one had a couple of neat surprises in it - I like that the "bad guy" is not so blatantly obvious. I am really looking forward to the next book to see how things play out.
Ughhhhh great work audiobook, I’m gunna agro tho cause the second and third audiobook aren’t out yet. What the ef and I supposed to do now ?!!!! I dunno but I’m kinda glad to be switching direction away from smut for a little bit it was getting embarrassing
The language is rich and vibrant. The story is filled with lightness, playfulness, and determination demonstrated within the characters. Lighthearted. I particularly like the lack of vulgar, foul language, which seems to creep into many romantasy books. Here, there is a delicate hint of slow burn. More pure... prefer it much more over F-bombs being dropped all over the place.
Really enjoyable. Looking forward to reading Book 2.
