Her fiancé left her at the altar. Now, his best friend is her boss.
Addison‘s life turned upside down when her fiancé took off minutes before their wedding. His best man Dennis was left as the messenger, and she thought it would be the last she saw of him, too.
She has to find a new place to live, new friends, a new job and if her best friend has any say, a new man. When Dennis suddenly fits at least two of those categories, he’s not so off-limits anymore.
Dennis' life centers around work, but he's running on fumes. Reluctantly, he agrees to hire an assistant but it's proving to be more hassle than help.
When Addison walks through the doors, he knows he's in trouble. Not only is she overqualified, she's nearly perfect in every way.
He refuses to mix business and pleasure. She needs to live a little. He's come to her rescue more than once and she's the breath of fresh air he's needed for years.
Can they find a balance between their personal connection and their work relationship before everything falls apart?
Lily is a Colorado native enjoying the fantastic climate of Southern California with her family and cranky cat after surviving more than a decade in hot, humid places where hurricanes get their own season and Winter is a myth.
The written word is her favorite thing - reading or writing, she doesn’t discriminate. Left to her own devices she can read about a book a day; that HEA is a powerful drug!
As an only child she grew up inventing elaborate stories for her dolls to act out. She started word processing on a computer around age 10 and never looked back. After suffering the heartbreak of catastrophic drive failure a regrettable number of times, she has finally learned to back things up appropriately and often.
Follow her antics on social media! (If she disappears for a bit around late August, don’t worry, that’s just her wanderlust kicking in. She’ll be back soon.)
When I saw this on tiktok I was Intrested since I do love a "1 can do better story." And well... it was okay..
Addison is minutes away from getting married and she gets stood up on her wedding day and is told by the best bestman (who is the H) she's dealing with it as best as she can which I was shock she was so mature. I thought she toss something anything she was kinda frozen. As for The best man Dennis he was disgusting with his so called best friend he dropped him and punch him for doing that to Addison. They meet back up few weeks later when Add gets a interview at his job and he hires her. It's a slow build up they kinda flirt but don't do anything about it. He helps her when she's ambushed by her sister WHO WAS THE WOMAN HER EX CHEATED ON HER WITH. Talking about forgive me and the big "I'm prego" I was so glad Addison never forgave her sister because she didn't give a rats ass on her sisters feelings when she was cheating with the bf. And Dennis had his own problems dealing with trust and It was meh. I wish he was more alpha and wish there was more spice. Also wish add told off her mom.. glad one parent understood the assignment. And the ex fiance never got anything no telling off nothing beside the punch.
Low angst, tiny op drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, sexy time, no virgins

I was enjoying this book but I feel like to much was left unfinished. The sister, ex and mom are not mentioned again after the baby shower scene. I loved the h's dad, he was awesome! He made sure that the backstabbing sister and the cheater ex- now sisters husband know that he would love their child but that he did not approve of their marriage and they did not have his blessing or his money.
POV: You have a pile of university material to study yet you decided to impulse read a new romance novel you discovered on TikTok! But honestly I don't regret a single thing because this book is one of the best things I've read in a really long time! I basically devoured it and there is not a single thing about it that I didn't love! The characters were amazing, the dynamics spot on, the writing phenomenal and the romance completely swoon worthy! Dennis Greene is officially my new standard for men! Highly recommend it! 10/10!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book was...not for me. I found it overwritten and plodding. I would guess that maybe what this book is trying to be is a slow burn romance underlying an emotional recovery journey. It has strong bones. I just found it really boring. After about 60%, I started skimming, hoping to find some emotional payoff. The pace and tone of the book just didn't work for me.
This book was amazing on the working to live with and ultimately face trauma. It was really good with exploring grief and growth through that. But this book was long and it never found a good balance with overcoming that old while exploring the new. As a result the relationship felt underdeveloped and ultimately easy to write off. But the angst was so good, it assaulted the emotions and that saved this for me. Good but not as great as I thought it would be.
My absolute favorite thing about Lily Alexander's books is that her characters are well written and feel as if they are real people. You are able to put yourself into the character space or even see them as a friend. Her newest book does not disappoint in that aspect. It is incredibly easy to lose yourself in her characters, to feel their frustrations and joys alongside them.
The catalyst event and its accompanying emotions that Addison felt in those first few pages pulls one into the story with ease and lays a nice foundation for her growth throughout its entirety. Similar to her other books, the story also focused on one of the Greene brothers. The troubles of Dennis' past aren't delved into until later on but the reveal does nicely explained the puzzle that is his reserved nature. The mysterious Dallas also has a little bit of spotlight time and we get to learn a little more about his absence within the family.
While you wouldn't need to read any of her prior books beforehand to be able to understand the continuation of their collective interactions, I do highly recommend them just because they are all an enjoyable read. In short, Spring Breeze doesn't disappoint and is the perfect book for a cozy weekend.
I have to say there's little else that enrages me more than a man who can't be bothered to call off a wedding long before the day, especially when her fiance had going on. He left the beautiful soul, Addison, at the altar, and didn't even have the courage to tell her himself, nope, he let his best friend, Dennis, tell her. Poor Addison had to find a new place quickly because you know she was about to move in with him, she lost the friends she thought she had (except the best friend a girl could ever have), and quit her job on top of it all. She finds a new place, and ends up working as Dennis' assistant despite the fact that she's qualified for a lot more but they made it work. They also had serious sparks flying, but Dennis won't commit to another woman ever again from his past, so he ends up hurting this beautiful girl, and I promise you I was cussing him out all over the place as well. Lily Alexander truly penned a story that sucked me in from the jump, and I didn't stop until every last page was finished. The emotional upheaval in Addison's life was truly heartbreaking, as I felt every bit of her pain like it was my own. You really want to hit those one click buttons on Spring Breeze since there's so much more to it, and I definitely HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Dennis was everything I wanted in a sulky, career obsessed hero. Addison was the girl I related too-- the one whose life fell apart, yet she doesn't have time to sulk. She needs a new place, a new job, and a new life. Who better to help her into that life than the broody Dennis? If we know anything about those Greene boys, they are loyal and protective of those they love... The push and pull between these two is something short of a miracle. No matter how much Dennis pulls away from Addison, he is still attracted to her and that's something he can't stop. And for Addison, she pushes, trying to get Dennis to smile more, laugh more, live more. Does she succeed? Find out by grabbing this book! I loved the little moments in this book, all the sweet parts when Dennis didn't think anyone was looking, and how Addison's entire mindset changes based off of the things he tells her ::Swoon:: Also the best friend... omg. hysterical! LOVE her!
The characters were great, they were both so sad so like i strongly related. I wish there were more consequences for Addison's family, everyone other than her dad is genuinely terrible. I wanted to YARF.
If my boyfriends friend cheated on his fiancé with her sister, I'd simply NOT hang out with him and the sister he was being a whore with, but maybe I'm just not a piece of shit.
There was a conflict with the brothers and there was no apologies? It was just weird, he only apologized to Addison where he treated his own brother WORSE? Also the brother (my fav) came out as bi but solely as an explantion for why we wouldn't have slept with his brothers ex. Which was... interesting. I just wish this was more fleshed out.
Overall this was a good book, and had great main characters but like the execution left something to be desired.
Read this as a standalone. This was a sweet story about starting over. Dennis is the sexy grump friend of her ex and now her fiance. She doesn't need him to rescue her but doesn't meet he isn't going to try. Loved this story.
I Loved it for it’s drama. Being left at the altar and cheated on by your fiancé and Sister? Where do i get tickets to the Soap Opera? Admit one puh-lease.
This is the first in the image series I’ve read. It was interesting, kept you on your toes. The wholesome feeling is there as well as the hurt. 93% final conflict happened but i didn’t get it until it was spelled out. I dind’t eat the betrayed vibe. I got hurt. And i didn’t think that hurt was epic. Not break up relationship wise. I’m glad the author explained it because i was rolling my eyes at the theatrics. (Explained from Addisons POV)
I’ve read 800 versions of this story that had a little more to the story which made them stand out more than this one. I also saw on Tiktok someone post that this was smutty. It was giving middle school smut levels
What was supposed to be the happiest day of her life turned out to be one of the worst when Addison got stood up on her wedding day. And the bearer of bad news was the best man, best friend of the groom. Dennis was as stunned as everyone else by what happened but he was the one taking care of Addison, taking her home. Heartbroken, Addison had to rebuilt her life as a single person and realized that she needed to fresh start with a new job as well. That is how she ended up applying for a job at Dennis; company. Expecting the interview to be akward with him being friend with ex she learned that he ended his friendship with the runaway groom. Getting the job was one thing, keeping away from Dennis while the attraction built between them, another. But Dennis is not looking for a relationship and is this only rebound for her? Time will tell, if they can chive themselves a chance to explore the feeling between them.

So we are all coming from tiktok and Instagram reels roped in by quotes about the braids Yup okie good we’re all on the same page 😂❤️
This was a lovely simple read
I loved the Greene family wholeheartedly and i loved the couple I love love loved the best friend Duo The storyline was enjoyable The writing style was easy enough to follow
However i failed to feel the power of the climax and i felt that essential information were revealed in an untimely manner and important discussions were overlooked or was superficially dealt with
Anyways not over analyzing this any longer as a recommendation from tiktok it did it’s work and gave me a light relaxed experience
Amamos.
I really liked the book right before this, but this one blew it out of the park for me. Addison is absolutely amazing and I freaking loved her from the very beginning. She is so strong and so easily rolls with the punches while still being relatable. Also, even though Dennis might be a closed off grump, he is pretty freaking great himself! The chemistry between the two is out of this world and is so much fun to read!
All in all, you should definitely read this book it is full of family, humor, and ALL OF THE FEELS! No one is perfect, but sharing those imperfections and getting over them is everything, just ask Addison and Dennis! I totally give this 4.5 outta 5 and can't wait for Dallas' story. Who knows what will go down in that one! ;)
PS: Thank you to Lily Alexander and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
loved it !!! love Addison and Dennis... this is their story... a fast paced office romance... it starts off with Addison being left at the alter and Dennis is the best man with the message...she lost everything... her apartment, her friends and her job, oh, and her fiance... she gets a new place and a new job but, it's as Dennis' assistant... sparks fly... she has to help Dennis open up... it's a heart breaking story but, a HEA...it just takes time...

This was a light and quick read. I enjoyed the characters especially Trina and Addisons relationship get a best friend like Trina.
I really love Addison and Dennis’s relationship but it did feel more insta love which is sort of not my thing. I would have liked it if their relationship went a bit more slow since she just got out of a relationship.
Screw mark and Addisons sister like I wish they got a harsher punishment! Also screw Addisons mom as well! I only really liked her father from her family. I wish for mark and Addisons sister the worst!
-I rarely do not finish a book, but this one was just not for me. Life's too short to read things that reaaaaaally bore you. -I liked the idea but the execution was not it for me. -I read until the 35% mark and the finale & epilogue and I'm glad I skipped half of the book because the ending was meh.
the only reason i’m giving this 3 stars is because i don’t remember a lot of the stuff that happened but not because the book was bad, but because i started it in february and then life got in the way. but i want to punch Mark and Addison’s sister so bad and i am not a violent person. they need their karma
"Literally nobody else was affected by what’d happened to me. My world had imploded, but it was only me suffering the effects. It was as humbling as it was depressing."
This book has a lot of feels. It is about Addison & Dennis. There is so much emotion in the pages of this book. You can see their personalities shining from beginning to end. Great read for an enjoyable weekend.
