Fates Fulfilled

Rate this book
The Dark Prince has arrived.

The Dark Prince will stop at nothing to save his people—even if it means kidnapping the one woman with the power to destroy them all...

Garrin Branimir, Prince of Dark Kingdom, has been trapped in endless winter for centuries, along with his people. His only hope of saving them is to find the woman with the power to destroy the magical barriers imprisoning Dark Fae. With her by his side, he and his kinsmen will finally be free.

But Lex Meinrad isn't full Fae, and she wasn’t raised in his land, content to obey her prince’s every order. She refuses to do his bidding—no matter how intense the sparks between them fire.

With time running out, Garrin must convince this impossibly stubborn woman to cooperate before his enemies bend her to their will. And, unlike him, they'll choose force over seduction...

I loved this!! An original and unique tale of Faeries. And I LOVE Fae!! Garrin and Lex are such an awesome couple. The romance is really sweet and made me swoon.
The writing was very well done! The rich world building in this Dark Kingdom of Ice was breathtaking and realistic, I actually felt the bitter cold that they were feeling at times and the crunchy snow and slippery ice. I felt as though I was there with them! The characters are interesting with all their different Fae powers. I loved how Lex started picking up on the different powers they all had. The dialogue is well written and distinguishes each character, while also keeping the plot flowing perfectly!!
But overall this story is a fantastic Fantasy Romance and if you enjoy that, along with Fae, then you will love this book. It is part of a series, but each book is a standalone and I wasn’t lost at all. I would, however, enjoy reading the background on some of the side characters. So I want to read the whole series!

The Characters felt very flat in this one. There wasn’t a lot of depth to the plot. The conflict was resolved too cleanly; too fast and with no complexity. The first two books in this series are better; more likable characters, and a more engaging plot..

instantaneous

Didn’t find myself interested in the characters much, the relationship was beautiful but everything happened instantaneously that there was not much of a build up. Having this book as a 4th installment of the series made it exciting to know about the previous characters and how well things worked out for them.

I have waited for this book to come out! I was so excited when I saw it and it was so worth the wait. This story focuses on Lex and Garrin’s story. The story starts exactly like I like my books to start. Almost immediately in the book they meet. It’s fireworks from there. Jules Barnard knows how to make a look between these characters speed up your breathing. Everything else even more so. Lex has no idea what Garrin wants from her and doesn’t believe a word he says. She’s strong willed and yet fragile. Garrin is a Prince of his people and convinced that what he’s doing will help them but their journey will be hard both physically and emotionally. I absolutely loved everything about this book, the plot twists, the struggles, the twisted characters you’re not sure you could trust, the surprises and the attraction despite themselves. The world building was so great, all the characters well written and the build up to feelings was exactly right. Lex will fight until the end and Garrin is so determined to make things right but Lex has captured his heart and he’s not so sure he’s on the right path anymore. Things come to light that make him doubt what he’s been told his whole life. Along the way things between them begin to change, villains are revealed and timing is everything! Join these two in an adventure that will keep you guessing, characters from previous books return and a love to last a millennia that will make your heart race. Read every one of these books in order just because you’ll enjoy them more but all of them are so good you’ll want to read them all.

How do you end book 2 in a cliff hanger and then start book 3 with a whole ass new set of characters?? Where's Elena? Reese? Derek? Keen? Who is Lex? Xirel? Garrin??

Dark fae prince Garrin, looking for "the chosen one". The one that will save his people. Lex is believed to be the one, the halven that is destined to help save them, but along the way they discover many twists that arent expected at all.

The story is kinda predictable, in the sense that as soon as you get the twist, you know what direction it's going. I wish the original characters had more of chance to develope on page not behind the scenes. I feel like I missed a bunch of stuff in between. I'm disappointed in the fact that you get me used to a set of characters and then throw them out to window. It took 25 chapters for the original characters to be brought in.

I give it 3.75 because, aside from my gripes, it was entertaining. Kind of a fluff book. The series as a whole, not sure it can be considered a series. There's not true continuity with the characters, they're just brought in to continue the story of the character that particular book decides to focus on.

Lex Meinrad is a college student who can be a little bit socially awkward, and is prone to panic attacks. Nothing could have prepared her for being kidnapped by a fae prince, being forced to endure a dangerous journey to Tirnan, or being informed that she was the only one that could save an entire kingdom. Garrin Branimir is Prince of the Dark Kingdom and searching for the female prophesized to free his people from their frozen and dying land. He was not at all prepared for the strong willed young woman who refuses to believe she has the power to save their people, nor for his attraction to her.
Well written, unique, and absolutely intriguing characters. I loved their interactions, and reactions to the varied circumstances in which the find themselves. Action packed battles, magic betrayal that could save or destroy an entire kingdom, and a happily ever after. Fantastic conclusion to a wonderful series.

I went to share how much I enjoyed this book with the idea I was going to complain that I also wanted more from the characters -- just a minute --
As I am known to do I dropped into this series with this book and did not know it was the third in the series
That being said I still was able to appreciate the world and connect with the characters - and as you can see from my comments above I wanted more

The concept was unique in so many ways - rare I know - not the plain girl turns into something more part (no spoilers) but IDK something about the characters and the parts they played, for me, was highly engaging and entertaining
Lex was a strong lead but she carried a sense of innocence to her as well - I liked her
Garrin despite his age had some growing up to do - though I think for many of us the sins of those closest to us can many times go unseen
I enjoyed the way the author kept the tension between our two MC's without allowing it to overshadow the storyline

Plenty of action with surprise twists you do not see coming
Great world building
Solid characters
Left me wanting to spend more time with everyone
and yeah I will be adding the first two to my must-read list

New to me author Ms. Barnard kidnaps me into a magical world filled with icy adversity. Lex is an awkward tall girl trying to get through school and move on with her degree. She is prone to panic attacks and hates the cold. She doesn't remember much about her life before her uncle saved her, but she's as happy as she can be, given the circumstances. What she doesn't know... may kill her. This is the 3rd book in the series and I can confirm it can be read as a standalone. I suspect it would be better if the first two books were read before this one.

I received a copy from Hidden Gems; this is my honest review
-Not usually my genre but I had bought the prequel in 2016. Then the other books showed up on Amazon at a discount so why not?
-Lots of action including some gory details but not too much, adventure, suspense, definitely a slow-burning romance with a great ending with many twists.
-I really liked how Amund and Zidel were protective of Lex and how Jasper turned out to be better than an uncle. But the king and queen were so scary!
-I had no problems following with the other people from those books and didn't get confused by missing some details because I hadn't read the previous books.
-Repeats: the books is ~300 but there are many repeats of information such as how no one knew Lex's magic and how she might help the kingdom (at least 5 times).

I thouroughly enjoyed the first few books in this series. Until this one. The story felt rushed and unfinished. The plot, character build-up.. everything fell short. And can we talk about the language that was used? Conversations between the characters were choppy and I felt like I was reading a conversation held between toddlers at times. The romance between Garrin and Lex happened so suddenly, and there wasn't really a build-up, nor did it feel romantic. The first two books were eloquent and put-together, but this book fell flat in every way possible. The only reason I finished this book is because I read the rest of the series, and felt I owed it to myself to finish it off. I'm disappointed to say the least.

I was given a free copy of this book and I decided to give it an honest review.
While this is the third novel of the series, I never felt lost wondering what was going on. The story was well paced; it never felt bogged down. There were several twists and turns that were unexpected. I liked Garrin, but I generally like my Dark Fae to be a bit darker. I never warmed up to Lex. There were reasons why she started out the way she did, but I found her annoying. Though I did appreciate the way she continued to stand up to her mother on Garrin's behalf. Several characters from previous novels were introduced; I will probably check them out.

Very disappointing. It shouldn't be considered the third book in the trilogy since it barely contains the characters from the first two books and it takes place in a different realm.
The first two books have a strong female main character and they fight as hard as their male counterparts. In this book, the main female character is really annoying and weak. The Lex has to be carried for most of the time she is in the Land of Ice and Snow. She doesn't do anything with her powers until the end of the final battle.
If you're reading this series from the beginning, you're better off just skipping this one. It doesn't add anything to the story.

Good, but better to begin at #1.

I haven't read the first book and didn't have any problem with reading Book #2 as a stand alone. This one was a little more confusing for me at the beginning. Not sure if it was all the characters or the story line, but it took me a bit to get into this one.

However, I did enjoy Lex and Garrin's story. Garrin is in search of the one who can free his people from year-round winter and ice. Lex isn't all she appears to be. Watching her growth and her relationship with Garrin really made the story.

"I am very protective of what is mine." Garrin is alpha all the way.

Their love slowly developed and is mired with incorrect assumptions and miscommunications. This story has some twists and turns as well, so it will keep you turning the page.

I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

Okay a slow and boring start but a strong finish 3.8⭐️.

The main character was quite annoying, glad the reason for her anxiety and whinny personal was explained and stopped shortly into the book, otherwise I probably would not have finished it.

Assuming this book sets up the next, if so, can understand the different speed and storyline compared to the first two books.

Not my fav in the series, but the first two were hard to beat as it was.

Another AMAZING 4.5 Stars!! I lovedddd this conclusion to the series, and was shocked at Bernard's ability to expound upon the first books and even give a (psuedo) conclusion! The spice and slow burn romance of Lex and Garrin was top shelf! I found their relationship to be the most genuine of the series, despite the incredibly fast timeline. It makes for an excellent stand alone novel, or even more enjoyable read in chronicle series. This was probably my favorite of the whole Havlen Series!!

I enjoyed reading this book. I will definitely have to read the rest of the series as well. It had me hooked from the first page and had me on the edge of my seat throughout. Loved it and gotta give it five stars and the recommendation that it’s worth.

This is the 3rd book in the series and I haven’t read the first 2 yet, but I didn’t feel lost when reading it. The story line is so good! It’s a modern day take on faeries and the main and side characters are so easy to love. I will definitely be checking out the other books as I want more of this!

I listened to this on audible. this is the third book in this series. I just love this series and found it well written, the characters great, and lots going on. The world-building was well done. The character's lifelike. The narrator suited this book and did an excellent job.

A great end to the series! Even though this book can be read as a standalone, it was still nice to get a good conclusion to the series. Garrin and Lex survive so much and the plot keeps you in the edge of your seat. Lots of steam! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Entertaining, easy story to follow. Character development quite good, but not overly deep. I enjoyed the simple storyline.
