Clear your schedule for the day...switch your ringer off....keep plenty of food and drinks at hand before you proceed cause once you start it, the world won't exit anymore. You'll become a resident of Clifton Forge, Montana, fall under the spell of charismatic Gruff Alpha biker- Kingston "Dash" Slater of the Tin Gypsies Motorcycle Club and just like Bryce Ryan the journalist, you'd want extra scoops on him...with cherry on top!!

description

They used to rule the roost for decades before they suddenly closed up cold turkey...
"We’d rid the world of evil men, even though we’d been devils in our own right."
That has all the red flags going up and senses alert like a blaring alarm for Bryce, who is sifting around for a good story for her bi-weekly newspaper - Clifton Forge Tribune
She's a disillusioned and disheartened transplant from a large news network in Seattle to small town in Montana because she wants to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to the art of newsmaking and reporting. Her talent speaks for itself and her beauty and sharp intelligence just wins Dash over

description

"She was classy and gorgeous no matter what she wore. It came from the way she carried herself, with tenacity and strength. Not many people, let alone women, questioned me. But this woman was a fighter. She wouldn’t be pushed around, and she wouldn’t take things at face value."
A sleepy town which rarely sees action, has a meteor like accidental crime crashland with a bang and their tranquility is up for a major upheaval.
There the devilishly dangerous Dash and there's sexy as sin Bryce and explosions happen like fireworks. Their banter is heavily loaded with sexual innuendos and flirty banter charging their magnetic field of attraction.

description

“And what’s your real name?” He smiled, dropping my hand.
“That’s a secret I only tell a woman after she’s let me buy her a beer.”
“Pity. I only drink beer with a man after I know his real name.”

It's a constantly turning story. you won't be seeing what lies beyond the curve you're at, racing down at breakneck speed, events whip past like sign boards on a highway. Tin Gypsies are like a steel wire running through the town...pulled tight. The tension is so strong, it could snap the wire at any moment and when that happens, it threatens to dig up old skeletons, unite old enemies and hunt down old so-called friends!!
There's just the right amount of thrill and thunder, sexy romps and fistfights to keep you engaged non-stop.
Gods are knocked off the pedestals and unexpected heroes take their place.
An MC story with lots of love, Loyalty and Heartbreak.

I’ve been meaning to start this series for a couple years now (basically since it came out - I’ve been collecting every book and not reading them) and overall I’d say this kept me entertained and it was a decent read.

I liked the first half of the book more. I felt like the slow unraveling of the mystery plus the developing relationship of the MCs was done well but then the last 40/30% or so, was kinda rushed.

The hero with commitment issues was suddenly declaring love and marriage, the action became more convoluted but the answers more confusing and mysterious. The crime wasn’t solved and you’ll need to read the next book to get closure. It was kinda frustrating to be left in the dark like that.

I did like the heroine - she was stubborn and hardworking which I can always appreciate - those sides of her never really changed but then she was a bit too taken with the lust the hero inspired. Betraying body syndrome was like a third MC in this book. I don’t think the attraction between them was exaggerated I just think that maybe she reacted to it a little to easily considering the situation around which they met.

The hero was the typical cocky, sure of himself Adonis that every man wants to be and every woman wants to be with. I’m a bit jaded because that description doesn’t really do it for me anymore. I want more. Sure, he was also shown to be smart and had leadership qualities but that took a backseat to his “insane hotness”.

I read it pretty quickly because as I said, the first part of the book was actually interesting but I feel like it got to a point where the story didn’t have any steam left. Things were wrapped up really quickly at the end and it might be one of the reasons of why the whole thing felt disingenuous.

As soon as I saw the blurb, the cover, the author there was no way I wasn't going to jump on this book!! I love this author, and I couldn't wait to see which direction she was going to lead us with this book!!

I had a few issues with this book which I'll explain below but there were things which I really loved about this book too..

Even though I devoured this I would’ve preferred a wee bit more grit being that the hero belonged to a notorious biker gang, back in the day, but that wasn't the whole focus of this story, this was a softer side to an MC Murder Mystery novel..

Being honest I must say I came away a wee bit disappointed because there were a few questions left unanswered and hanging and it kind of all just ended so abruptly and a tad confusing, so I’m hoping all those are cleared up in the next book!

I loved our feisty, strong, heroine (Bryce) and our alpha hero (Dash), the banter between these two was the perfect blend zealous antagonism, the hate to love you feels rushed over me at full speed! I couldn’t get enough of these two, I wanted, needed more! I also really enjoyed the slow burn build up between these two, even though they were attracted to each other straight off the bat it wasn't insta love..

Regret was the driving force behind this Tin Gypsy story. Remorse was the reason it was so, so important.

I interrupt this very important review to bring you this breaking story:
"Blogger currently kicking her own butt for only now discovering the brilliance of Devney Perry"

Blogger was no available to comment as she was too busy mumbling about living under a rock and being a complete and total idiot. We assume that her next plan of action is to immediately purchase author's entire backlist and plan a binge. More to come on this story later.

But all joking aside, holy moly! How is this my first book by this author? Because color me totally addicted. This series has completely hooked me and I'm desperate for more!

The second I saw the blurb for this book, I knew it would be my first book by Devney Perry. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. There's just something about a strong and sharp witted heroine that just does it for me. Bryce is back in her hometown after discovering that her career as a reporter wasn't what she truly wanted. Her passion as a journalist returns working for her father's newspaper. When she learns that Tin Gypsy, shut down their illegal doings years ago, she's like a dog with a bone to learn the reason why they went legitimate. And when the president of Tin Gypsy is suddenly the main suspect in a brutal murder, she's determined to break the story.

Dash is happily making a living as a mechanic and leaving the illegal life of Tin Gypsy behind. But then his father is arrested for murder and a sexy journalist is hounding his every step trying to learn his every secret. So what's a man to do after going head to head with her doesn't deter her? Work with her.

Dash and Bryce were absolutely sizzling together. The chemistry is instantaneous the second they meet. Bryce is sharp witted and determined and when her and Dash go head to head, sparks fly. What starts as an antagonistic relationship soon sparks into something much more as they investigate what really happened together.

I absolutely LOVED Dash. He's this wonderful combination of alpha but with a sweet vulnerable side that you can't help but connect with. Bryce may be tough, but she also hides a soft center that was incredibly endearing. I loved that she gave as hard as she got.

The mystery of the murder unfolds slowly, with plenty of twists and secrets along the way. The story is a bit slow paced in parts, and while it was a touch too slow for me in the mid mark, it picked up enough in the final half to more than make up for it. There's quite a bit that happens here that doesn't get fully resolved, so there's definitely a continuous story arc in the series. I do wish that we got the closure here to make it a true standalone, but I can't complain too much since I definitely plan to read the series religiously.

I fell in love with Devney Perry's words and I'm a new fan! I plan on fully binging on her entire backlist, starting with Dash's brother story in The Clover Chapel. Because second chance romance, YUM!

Im not completely sure how I feel about this book. It was a solid 4 star enjoyable read, but then the last 100 pages took a kind of unrealistic rushed turn, that made it feel like a 3 stars read. So I ended up having really conflicting feelings about this book. It’s one of those book where I don’t know if I want to round the half star up or down.

For a start; this was such an enjoyable thrilling read. I loved the mystery aspect in it and how we couldn’t guess who actually “did it” and how we get to discover something after the other. Then I was disappointed by the end, because we didn’t really get to know anything. I mean I know that there will be another book but I thought that this would be a standalone where we get to know what happens and who did it.

I loved the main characters banter and how they were so equal and compatible. I liked Bryce a lot. She was so tough and she wouldn’t back down no matter what. I liked how she would stand for herself and won’t let anyone walk all over her. Unfortunately, that changed by the end. Something did happen and I didn’t like how she dealt with it, if it was even “dealt” with! It’s just doesn’t seem like her. She was so forgiving. The topic wasn’t even fully discussed.

Dash’s character took a sudden unrealistic turn as well. He was that guy in the beginning who isn’t looking for anything serious, but then he suddenly became a committed man who drops the “I love you” and “marry me” in the same sentence. It was just so sudden and unrealistic when just a few chapters ago he would stiffen just by holding hands with the heroine.

So overall, I enjoyed it. But it felt like the last 100 pages were written by someone else? This book would have been better if those last 100 pages didn’t exist. They weren’t bad. Just so unrealistic and kinda annoying? Also, The end was abrupt and confusing, we didn’t get to know anything. It’s just strange that the mystery that the whole book revolved around wasn’t even solved.

****4.5 Stars!!!!****

What a treat this book was!!! I am not surprised that I enjoyed this story so much, as I usually do when it comes to Devney Perry’s writing! This book is the start of a new series called: “ Tin Gypsy” series. It is about a former Motorcycle Club who had given up their illegal ways and patches to live a life on the up and up. Truthfully, they have a bunch of secrets they are hiding and the best way to fool the law is to keep themselves clean!

This is not just a romance... there is a murder mystery ongoing and lots of secrets arising. I will warn readers that you won’t get all of the answers at the end of the book. As far as the main couple goes, we gets conclusion with them; but everything else that continues to go on... none of it is resolved. All that means is that I am even more excited for book two that comes out in January!!!

The relationship between Dash and Bryce is the perfect enemy to lovers romance. The anger that they have for one another turns into passion and let me tell you it is so worth it! Sparks fly with this couple and the chemistry that they have for each other is captivating!

An absolute must read if you enjoy an intriguing story with not only romance but a ton of mystery and suspense that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat towards the end!!!

We’d only shared a single kiss, but he was right. Given the sparks that crackled when we were in the same room, we’d be incredible together. The chemistry, mixed with our mutual dislike of one other, would ignite like fireworks. We’d probably set the sheets on fire.

I love a good MC story and Devney Perry’s ”Tin Gypsy” series has the potential of being a good one. I found the plot development of ”GYPSY KING” to be a little too slow and to be honest, I didn’t think of this as a true MC book. The club hasn’t been in operation for over a year. They all decided to go legit and put an end to the Tin Gypsies. The story’s main focus was on the ”enemies-to-lovers” romance between the town’s new journalist, Bryce Ryan, and one of the top-ranking members of the retired MC, Dash Slater. I’d give this book a PG rating when it comes to the MC aspect. These men weren’t nearly as crass and dirty as the heroes from other books in this genre, but the murder mystery and the quest to figure out who the true killer was, did end up generating some pulse-pounding suspense towards the end.

The story concludes on a high note but it also left me a little confused with how some of the main characters dealt with the outcome of the intense showdown towards the end. We are left with so many unanswered questions, I felt a bit unsatisfied. Although this sets us up for more to come in the next installments. Overall, I would recommend this to die-hard Devney Perry fans.

Here are my overall ratings:

Heroine: 4

Angst: 4
Steam: 4
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4

Bryce has left her TV job and city life behind to buy into the small town newspaper owned by her dad. While she's enjoyed settling into small town life Bryce is hungry for the big story that'll make her name, living in the hometown of the infamous Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club might just be what she needs......until a woman's murder leads to the MC's former President being arrested as a suspect

Dash was once president of the Tin Gypsy's but a mutual decision led to the shutting down of the MC and the shift in focus to the garage. None of them were good men, they'd made their money in illegal activities but war with other clubs caused too many tragedies including the death of Dash's mom. With their past behind them Dash and his guys live a much quieter life than they did in the past......until his father is arrested for a murder that Dash is sure he didn't committ. But secrets have a way of making it into the light and with Bryce determined to fnd the truth the long buried secrets of the Tin Gypsy's are in danger of becoming front page news....unless Dash convinces his stubborn reporter to work on his side

***********

I enjoyed the plot of this one, I didn't see events unfolding as they did. I was disappointed that Draven had cheated but it ultimately led to the plot so I accepted it. I'm interested to see where the plot goes from here as the murder hasn't been solved as yet.

I didn't like Bryce....from the moment she heard Draven's name as a suspect she acted as if he were already guilty. In her mind she was searching for the great story behind the murder not wondering if he actually had committed the crime. It's not until Dash's words cause doubts did she even consider that Draven may not be guilty

Then dear Bryce was a victim of the betraying body syndrome..... I hate him but he's so hot.....he called the cops on me dammit why's he so sexy.....he treated me badly after we had sex but I can't stop thinking about him......really??? I expected a badass, fearless reporter and there were some moments where she stood up to Dash that I applauded her only for her to hit me with her thoughts on his hotness..... seriously????

Generally I like the mmc to do the chasing, in this case Bryce was just willing whenever Dash showed up, he made the minimum effort for her if he made any at all. Even after she'd admitted to having feelings for him she thought that she wouldn't mind not having kids if it meant there'd be just the two of them but see this was a woman who actually HAD wanted a family, she'd regretted giving so much focus to the empty promises of TV producers that she let marriage and family take second place. It irks me to no end to see supposedly strong women doing all the compromising.....why couldn't he man up??

Then there was Dash, a rather appropriate name for him, as he was a runner..... he'd done so much evil in his life that he didn't think marriage and kids were for him so he pushed Bryce away. He'd show up eat, have sex maybe spend a night and that was as far as he was willing to go. Even to the bitter end she announces she's pregnant.......he storms off. I actually stopped amd rechecked his age a few times. Their eventual reconcile, his acceptance of the baby and his proposal just felt awkward as hell so even with an epilogue I couldn't believe in their hea

There were fade to Black sex scenes....... I find myself grossly offended at this 😂

All in all I read this for the plot, the actual"romance" was just meh......not even an unexpected baby could save this for me

Devney Perry does it again! She took what should be a simple romance and shook it up, tumbled it out into a jumble of emotions that had me wavering between every feeling I’ve ever experienced, and then pulled it all back into a perfect place of peace and joy and pure ecstasy.

Bryce just wants to write that one amazing story that will put her name out there as having been more than a simple news woman. Her ticket to success lies in uncovering the true reason why the Tin Gypsies Motorcycle Club disbanded. But when she stumbles across a tip that could lead to a juicy bit of headline, she doesn’t hesitate to charge forward. Perhaps in doing so she’ll eventually learn the truth about the infamous club.

description

Dash fell for Bryce the minute he saw her at his garage. Immediately he puts on the flirt and she seems to respond. And then it really hits the fan. Suddenly, he’s got his hands full and no real progress to help him out. Bryce keeps upping him and he wants nothing more than to beat her at her own game. If only he didn’t keep thinking about everything else he wants to do with her along the way.

I absolutely loved how Bryce was quick to turn the tables on Dash each time he thought he had one up on her.

’Everything about her pissed me off because of my body’s reaction.

Damn this woman. I liked her. That was my real problem. I liked her. Which was going to make threatening her a hell of a lot harder. That, and she didn’t seem to be intimidated by me one bit.’

She was quick and sharp, witty and fun, soft and understanding. I loved everything about her. Even as her determination forced her in one direction, she wasn’t obstinate enough to not see the truth, even if there was no true evidence to support it. While I love a tough heroine, I need her to yield to the softer things in life. And Bryce knew just when to do so.

’Bryce was not easy by any stretch. She was tough. She made me laugh with her wit and sass. She challenged me. And when she wasn’t pissing me off, she was turning me on.’

description

Dash is that hero that you’ll absolutely love even when you want to smack him upside the head at times because immediately following that smack, you’ll want to give him a big ol’ hug. He’s a convoluted character that will have your emotions riding a roller-coaster. His frustration with Bryce had me laughing out loud but when things take a turn in his life, I had to fight back the tears. Never have I read a hero that was able to wring so many emotions from me.

description

Together, Bryce and Dash are like lighting a fire to gasoline. Even as they bicker and argue they are only a breath away from ignition.

’My threat to her livelihood hadn’t done a goddamn thing except turn us both on. Was she ever going to back down?’

Their banter was fun and their battles delicious because I knew that behind it all was a chemistry that was sure to light the pages on fire once they let loose. And holy heck did it!!! They don’t have an easy road to travel and there were times that this story was intense, and heavy and I couldn’t stop reading even as I felt the need to just take a breath because it was breaking my heart. This author never does things the way you expect, and such is the case with Bryce and Dash.

What a perfect beginning for this new series! I laughed, I raged, I cried, and then I settled into the perfect epilogue with a smile.

Such a great story, I was intrigued and excited about Gypsy King! The story was addictive, and so different from Devney's other books!Get prepared for a wild ride!I love books with MC and I can say that at the beginning I was hesitant about this one but Devney did amazing job!

In this story we follow Bryce and Dash.Dash is the ex-president of the Tin Gypsies and is now the owner of the local garage, and Bryce has just recently moved back to help her father with the local newspaper.I loved it because it has suspense, a great mystery and the romance is fantastic!

Devney Perry brought her A game with this one!! Secrets, lies, murder, betrayal, enemies to lovers, you name it, and we got it. Gypsy King will have you holding your breath at the last minute and trying to solve the mystery that has plagued every single character.

After spending years being on camera and telling stories whether it was positive or heartbreaking news, Bryce has decided that it was time for a change. Moving back home to her hometown and now part owner of a newspaper with her father, things are now starting to get on track for this thirty year old. But when there’s news of a brutal murder that involves the father who was once the owner of a notorious motorcycle gang, things are about to get messy.

tenor-19.gif

Dash has seen and done things in his lifetime that were not pretty. After years of looking over shoulder and wanting to be a better man, he’s now an honest law abiding citizen with a good business. When he meets a feisty brunette at his garage, Dash knows that this woman is different and he likes what he sees. But knowing that she’s the new reporter and is on the hunt to find out about the past, getting involved with her could not only be catastrophic, but dangerous.

I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I started this story and I was ok with that. I loved that the author gave us something more to Dash and Bryce’s relationship and there was a mystery to what happened with the murder that changed a lot of lives and reignited a past. My only complaint was that I was expecting the story to be a bit darker and more gritty but that’s just my preference.

Seeing that this is the first book in the Gypsy series, this is off to an excellent start and I cannot freakin wait for book 2( different characters)!! If you’re a fan of enemies to lovers with a bit of mystery to it, then this book will be perfect for you.

I LOVED this book. It was EVERYTHING I wanted to read and so much more. I honestly think this is Devney Perry's best book to date. From start to finish I felt like I was living it. It's got drama and feels and the most unique and addictive storyline. Seriously, I have never read a MC series like this. The guys are so so so bad yet so so so good. It's amazing. There's some suspense, some mystery, some major heat from our couple, and ALL THE FEELS. Completely wild, so intense, I want more of this cast of characters. Such a must read. A top rec! I'm completely in love with this one, and I feel like Devney Perry just breathed new life into the enemies-to-lovers / MC trope! I can't wait for more.

This honestly wasn’t what I was expecting, but I’m not even mad about it. I thought this was going to be another MC series (and I was here for it) but it’s actually about a club that is no more, and a reporter trying to get to the bottom of a story. Bryce is that reporter and when she meets Dash Slater it’s not under the best of circumstances.

Dash’s father has been arrested for a murder he didn’t commit and they’re pretty sure a rival club has set him up. As secrets start to unfold you learn more about the situation. I have a bit of an inkling who could be involved but I’m honestly not sure. I thought this would be more of a stand alone, but one of the biggest plot points is left unresolved. I hope we get much more of that storyline in the next book.

Romantic suspense isn’t always my favorite sub-genre, but I was into this one. I loved both of the main characters and I’m super curious about some of the side characters. I’ll definitely continue on with this series!

I don't believe them...

Whether I'm reading a contemporary, paranormal or historical romance, I have to believe in what I'm reading and that the characters stay consistent. Sure, it's a story, it's not real, it's make-believe, but the author has to convince me that it could really happen. Unfortunately, I didn't believe in the heroine who could so easily flip from a dedicated reporter seeking the truth, to, I'll hold off on reporting because I'm in love with a major player in the story. I didn't believe in the hero who wants to leave his criminal past behind...then takes out his gun to kill his enemy. I already have doubts about the media, the justice system and criminals turning over new leaves. Gypsy King just reinforced those doubts.

Devney Perry is a very accomplished writer and I have enjoyed a lot of her previous stories. While this one didn't particularly work for me, there were still parts that I enjoyed. I really like that she explains the thoughts behind her characters' decisions. I know why the heroine changed her principals and work ethics. I understood and sympathised with the hero's anger that someone he loved was in danger. I'm not oblivious that our justice system is hindered by red-tape so I got why the Police Chief was frustrated by nosy reporters and rulebreakers. Devney Perry can make me see their point of view but unfortunately, she can't make me like them or their decisions.

I wasn't a fan of the way this story ended as too many things were left unanswered. I get that Gypsy King is part of a series and the storyline will be inter-connected by the murder investigation. It just felt unfinished. A few too many oft-repeated plotlines were included in this biker romance, that made me roll my eyes.

Gypsy King has appealed and will appeal to a lot of romance readers. While the storyline didn't appeal to me, the writing was still of an excellent standard. Devney Perry writes characters with flaws, love stories that make you want to sigh, squirm and shout out with rage, all set in a town that you will want to visit. I highly recommend giving Ms Perry's stories a try.

Let me start this review by mentioning to take caution whilst reading this (the review, not the book. No hard feelings against the book). Since recently I have been pretty hard on NA, romance books. It is like nothing in the said genres capture my interest unless it was an old book that I had enjoyed reading and feelings of the past regarding the book made me somewhat biased in rating it. Almost all the new books that I have read have managed to give me none whatsoever feelings of fulfillment that I generally receive when I complete a book. This one’s on me. Honestly. It can be that I am just in a book slump.

Now regarding the book, the first thing that attracted my eye was that I had been seeing this particular book cover in many of the reviews of my fellow goodreads members and being a normal read junkie I had to get my hands on it and it did not hinder the fact it was available free on amazon( not sure if it is anymore but get it. It’s a sweet deal). I do not want to go on a rant of my usual it’s nice but not my thing but I hope everybody gets the drift. Basically if you’re a fan of NA romance, pick up this book, my feeling regarding these are highly unreliable these days.

Adios.

Everyone who follows me knows I love a good motorcycle romance. I was so excited to see that Devney Perry was starting a new series that was delving into the MC world!

When this book started, I was so intrigued. Our main character, Bryce, was a journalist and she was determined to get behind the real reason why The Gypsies, the MC club in town, had disbanded and if they were really done for good. I enjoyed her banter with King, the old president of the MC, and how they went from hate to lust. That being said, I do think the lust was acted on a bit too early, especially seeing as they were literal enemies in the town because of Bryce's position on the paper and desire to expose his whole lifestyle and his father. Once they started actually getting to know each other, though, I was totally on board with that relationship.

There was definitely some of the heart-pumping action that I love in my MC romances, but I was surprised (and slightly annoyed) that the mystery that this whole book revolved around wasn't even solved at the end. I was under the impression that this series would be a series of standalones about different couples, but I didn't know the mystery would thread all throughout. We still don't know the truth behind the murder that Bryce is trying to investigate or who was behind certain things.

Overall, this was definitely a fun motorcycle romance with some intense chemistry between the main characters, I just wanted a little more substance in their relationship before they acted on that attracted, and I wish we had some conclusion to the premise of the whole book. I'd definitely recommend checking out this book and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

Miss Perry is one of my favorite author. I love her books especially, Tattered and Maysen Jar series. She has this uncanny talent to bring drama into her romance. So when I snatched Gypsy King, I am expecting the same drama with a sweet angst romance. But I was wrong So wrong.

In Gypsy King, Miss Perry took a different approach on telling her story. It was luke warm. The chemistry between the characters are cold and forced. There is no romantic or push and pull between the characters. So I feel bit lost liking the story. The twist on the story is also luke warm. There is no big BAM on finding the bad guy.

Dash is confusing character. Bryce is needy heroine. She is suppose to be this kick ass heroine, but she is the opposite. I do not like her.

With all that, I give this book 3 stars. I managed to finish the audio book. But nothing is very special to me.

2 ✨

-I didn’t enjoy this no. The only thing that kept me going was the mastery, i wanted to know who killed her and the truth but guess what I didn’t even get that 🤡

- I disliked the main characters. Bryce was horny all the time it was like she haven’t seen a man before it was embarrassing how his breathing alone can make her breath hitch!!! Like girl clam down please. She be like “ i’m not going to fall for his stupid smile like other girls” but everytime he smiled she felt like she’s going to explode lmaoo 😭 i hated how she was ready to gave everything she wanted just because she loved him. Like the fact that she wanted kids but after he told her that he doesn’t want kids she was like “ oh i can live with this “ !!!!!!! Absolutely not.

- Dash lost me from the moment he told her “ thanks, i needed that” after they had sex and then kicked her out 🔪 it’s giving real man vibes and it gave me the biggest ick ✋🏻 it’s just a me problem but I HATE when the mmc sleeps around alot and be so proud of that!! Like what are you proud of, huh!! Also the way he sneaked out of her bad after their second night together like she was no one special!! Or the way he didn’t defend her when his father threatened to cut her hands off!! Or the way turned the table on her when she discovered that he hide the photo from her and acted like she was the one who lied and she was the one he couldn’t trust!!! Or that he didn’t trust her to use protection while they were having sex!! He was full of red flags but not the kind i’d turn blind eye on sorry!!

- genevieve and isaiah ate though 😮‍💨 I can’t wait to read their books hopefully it will be better than this.

I’m going to talk about this book but not about the main couple. I repeat this is a sub trama (important) but not the principal.

The h and H only have eyes for each other and there are not OM and ow drama. No virgins. He was a manho. No with others after meeting. She knew who he was because she is a reporter and knew about the ex mc president (whatever it’s called) but she doesn’t go out and they didn’t meet. Until they did and they only have eyes for each other. A little bit of enemies to lovers.

Anyway, let’s talk about what broke my heart in this book.

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS BE CAREFUL
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

SO, let’s start with H’s mom died when he was 12, his brother 16. They were the ones to find her body in their garden. She was shot in the head because H’s dad had a war with another MC club or whatever it’s called. After that H’s bro doesn’t want to know anything about the dad because he blames him. H blames the murder. The dad killed every single person in this Mc. He wants revenge. The H has his dad in a pedestal. After his mom died the dad was living in the house and (in H’s eyes his dad hasn’t been with anyone after the mom. They were high school sweethearts or whatever it’s called. Don’t remember a lot of names rn) So, for H his dad was his hero. UNTIL, when his dad is blamed for a woman’s murder and h appears to stir everything searching for the story. What she discovers? Well, turns out that this woman that was killed was H’s mom best friend in high school. And turns out that H’s dad wasn’t that great and had a ons with her 26-27 years ago. H is 35. H’s bro almost 40 so, he cheated on his mom with her bff. They were having a rough patch blah blah blah. Cheater. The worst it’s yet to come. Obv the women got pregnant and had a daughter but never told anyone. The woman was in love with H. He come back home after the ons (he was sleeping during three weeks before the cheating in the club because they had a fight) and beg for forgiveness WITHOUT TELLING HER ABOUT THE CHEATING. The woman disappears. 3-4 years later the wife (H’s mom) is killed. She never knew about the cheating. Maybe if she did she would have left him and wouldn’t have die. This sweet loving caring badass woman died without knowing that her husband and bff betrayed her and had a child together (a daughter, she is the h of book 2)

To add salt to injury, the night of this woman’s dead. H’s dad and her reunite in a motel and she told him about the daughter. AND… THEY HAD SEX. Are you for real???
The reason why she didn’t tell him about daughter? He was in a Mc and the daughter wouldn’t have been safe. Not because she cared about her suppose bff. The H’s dad cared about this cunning bitch. I wanted to punch him. So badly. The H’s mom told him during years (prior to affair) to H’s dad that the bff has feelings for him and she started to stopped hanging out with her so much. She left after high school but come back every year for a week and make out with random guys at the club.
Now, the h (with permission of H and H’s dad) tell in the newspaper about the daughter. And the daughter is now living in the hometown. She is the h of second book. I mean I want to know why he had sex that night. What really happened between H’s dad and ow but I guess it would talked about it in book two. Too many things unresolved. If someone had read this book and know about this, can you comment or dm me???

TW for murder and suicide

This was a reread and I really enjoyed the second time around with this story! I love how much MC there was in this book, even though the motorcycle club was disbanded. The beginning starts with a murder that Dash's dad is the prime suspect for. Bryce, the heroine, is a reporter, and she's determined to get to the bottom of the murder and get to the bottom of the MC. I really loved the tension between Bryce and Dash and how much chemistry those two had. While they didn't trust each other and couldn't stand being around each other, they definitely couldn't deny their chemistry and start hooking up. I was hooked on the mystery of who had committed the murder at the beginning and if it was really Dash's dad like everyone thought it was. So much of the mystery started unraveling, but there was still so much mystery left to uncover at the end. This was definitely a strong start to the series and I can't wait to read more!

A solid start to the series! I was a little surprised that a few of the largest plot threads were left unresolved; I knew this started a series but had thought with each book featuring a new couple that the extraneous action would be wrapped up. Regardless, a fun read that was so engrossing I finished it in a single day! Excited to jump into Isaiah and Genevieve's story next.

Bryce has left her TV career back in a big city to take up a role at her parents recently acquired community newspaper. She is back living at home with them and is surprised at how much she is enjoying working with her dad. Living in the small town of Clifton Forge doesn’t really lend itself to many opportunities for hard hitting journalism but she decides to find some.

Bryce is really interested in doing a piece on the Gypsy Kings, the local MC that is no longer in existence after removing their patches and closing their clubhouse doors. She senses there is a story there that isn’t being told because there is really no explanation why they closed up shop. Despite being warned to keep her nose out of their business she sets out to find out more about the Gypsy Kings.

When a woman is found brutally murdered, the main suspect is one of the Gypsy Kings. Bryce plans to expose this MC club for what she believes them to be, criminals. She starts with Dash, owner of the local garage and ex President. I really enjoyed their first meeting, Bryce lures Dash in and he willingly takes the bait. This is just the beginning of a game of tit for tat between them.

‘My body betrayed me, the quiver in my core irritating my rational senses. I was here for a story. I was here to steal this man’s secrets one by one, then plaster them across the headlines. This raw, animalistic response was asinine. But damn, he was hot.’

Bryce is determined to find the truth and if she has to get her hands dirty she will. However, she had not planned on getting down & dirty with the very man she wants to bring down. Dash wants the truth exposed too and he thinks that together they will find the answers to this mystery. He knows that the main suspect is an innocent man but proving it may be harder than they thought. Secrets come to light and they find out so much more than they bargained for. Bryce is beginning to understand just how dangerous being involved with someone like Dash can be.

‘One moment I was standing there, revelling in the honesty of his words when he said I couldn’t trust him. I went soft at the vulnerability in his voice when he asked that we work together. When his mouth touched mine, all rational thought vanished.’

So this was a really enjoyable read for me, lots of danger and excitement and plenty of lusty sex. However, I had one small issue closer to the end. The main plot line around this story is a murder case but I was left wanting at the end of this book. In fact, I thought that a chapter had been accidentally left out. We were building towards something and then the book was over and there was an epilogue with no mention of any outcome.

As much as I loved this story I was left feeling very confused about how this major plot was seemingly put on hold until the next book comes out when it seemed so important to the story. I will be reading the next book because I love Devney’s books and I need closure :)

4.5 Estrellas!!!

Devney Perry kicks off an exciting new series with a gripping page-turner that has all her trademark elements—a small town setting, well drawn characters, an intriguing storyline—but with a much stronger thread of mystery and suspense running through it. The heroine is the new owner of a small town newspaper and she is set on uncovering the real reason why a notorious local motorcycle club disbanded and went their separate ways after decades of criminal activities that went unpunished. So when the former Club president suddenly becomes the key suspect for a new violent crime in town, the heroine sees this as the perfect opportunity to dig deeper into the Club's nefarious past, but the president's son has other ideas... While most of Perry's books have a touch of suspense pushing the story forward, this series relies heavily on not knowing what's coming, and we are kept on the edge of our seats until the very end. The writing is wonderful, the pace exhilarating, and the plot is completely unpredictable.

Rereading Steel King felt just as thrilling, intense, and addictive as the first time. This book is everything I love in a small-town motorcycle club romance—danger, secrets, sizzling chemistry, and a heroine who refuses to back down.

Bryce is determined, fearless, and willing to put herself in the middle of the storm to uncover the truth. I loved how sharp and relentless she was, especially when going head-to-head with Dash. And speaking of Dash… whew. The man is all brooding, protective, and effortlessly commanding—a true swoon-worthy hero who stole the show. The push-and-pull between them was electric, and the tension? Off the charts.
