Brilliant criminal defense attorney and special prosecutor Paul Madriani appears in two suspense novels from bestselling author Steve Martini. Mesmerizing in their pace and captivating in their action, these novels will dazzle listeners right up to their final, shocking conclusions.
A murder and trial that reads more like a detective novel than one of a defence lawyer. I found that only about 10% of the book read as though a lawyer was working a case. The rest was to me, a detective novel - amazing connections in numerous cocktail bars, newspaper men, police, affairs with women and speculation about many evidential issues. Not that was really a problem - just difficult to believe that it was solely about how a lawyer might work and behave. The latter part of the book with the trial provided good courtroom drama and interesting legal procedures and challenges.
