Here Comes the Bride: How the Holy Spirit Leads us Home

Rate this book
Here Comes the Bride is a sermon that my husband, Henry, preached many times. It’s probably one of my favorite. He used an Old Testament story to illustrate how the Holy Spirit has been sent to earth by the Father to find a bride for His Son, Jesus Christ. I suppose many ministers have preached from Genesis 24, but I love the way Henry preaches it in his own unique style. This was transcribed just as he preached it, and I left it that way for those of you who knew him. I believe you will be able to hear his voice as you read. Many times he would use it as his morning Bible study in a camp meeting or revival, taking three mornings to complete the study. I’ll never forget when we had a morning Bible study at a church in Texas. On the third day, when we came to the end of the chapter where Rebekah and Isaac meet and the wedding takes place, someone brought a wedding cake with Isaac and Rebekah’s names on it, and we celebrated by singing songs about heaven, and the presence of God came down in that place until glory filled the room! I believe we delighted God’s heart that morning. So I pray you will be blessed as you read, meditate and, contemplate what it will be like when the bride of Christ actually meets our Bridegroom King and we sit down together at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!
