Another nail-biter from Bestselling Author Willow Rose!
It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life when her kidnapped daughter returned, but it wasn’t.
Fourteen years ago, Clarissa Smalls was born, and a few hours later, she was taken from the hospital. Kidnapped. Her mother searched desperately for her for years, but she never found her.
Until now.
When Clarissa Smalls is suddenly found in the swamps of central Florida, badly bruised and confused, it causes much joy and celebration in her family, especially with her mother, who has waited fourteen years to see her baby girl again. Little did she know that this day would end up being the worst in her life. Because Clarissa doesn’t want to know about her mother, she refuses to talk to anyone and won’t tell the police what happened to her.
When another baby girl is kidnapped from the same hospital, in the same manner, the police believe it’s the same kidnapper that took Clarissa. Suddenly, time is of the essence to make her answer the many questions that are piling up.
Where was she for fourteen years?
Who took her?
Why won’t she tell them who her kidnapper is?
The FBI brings in former profiler Eva Rae Thomas to help them in this peculiar case. Eva Rae Thomas knows the girl’s mother very well and is willing to go to great lengths to help her out, even though the two of them share an unpleasant history. In addition, Eva Rae's sister recently came back into her life after being kidnapped thirty-five years ago, so the FBI hopes that she can contribute with a deeper understanding of the situation and maybe get through to Clarissa.
Little could she have known that soon she would wish that she never got involved in this, as the case becomes very personal for her

Willow lives on Florida's Space Coast. When she is not writing or reading, you will find her surfing and watch the dolphins play in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
It would have been 5 stars like I always do for Willow Rose books, but, honestly, I was so confused with jumping from one character telling the story to another and one time period to another. Most books will specify at the beginning of the chapter.
What an AMAZING, thrill ride....keeps ya guessing 😉💗
I could not put this wonderful book down once I picked it up!!! Talk about being packed with suspense, and oodles of twists and turns that keep you guessing. It's a whodunit in the best of ways, with really fascinating characters. The entire world turned off as all I could focus on was these characters and what was going on in their world. The payoff was oh so worth it 😉. What an AMAZING journey!!! I highly recommend treating yourself to this thrilling book.
Willow Rose is a multi-million-copy best-selling Author. Little did she know is the tenth (and last) book of the Eva Rae series. The book can be classified in the genre mystery suspense thriller.
The story centers around Eva Rae who is assigned to a 14-year-old-case of Clarissa Smalls, who was kidnapped from a maternity ward and later mysteriously showed up in a swamp, pregnant, and unwilling to talk with anyone about her ordeal. The author very beautifully put forward how the mystery flows.
The story flows through various twists and turns. The character portrayal is done with perfection, the story is equally very interesting and engaging. The depth of the case and the pace of the story easily engross the readers into it. One would certainly seem to be in the character itself while going through the pages.
This kindle e-book novel is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 10 of 16

Willow Rose's stories are always exciting and page-turners!!
Wow, Willow Rose never disappoints. This story was complex and moving. It showed kidnappings from hospitals and the lengths people would go to have a baby in their lives. Definitely can't get enough of Eva Rae Thomas and her FBI profiler mysteries.
I really enjoyed the storyline in this book, however I felt like it was too much put into such a short book, I’m also not a big fan of going back and forth between then and now…Other than that I did enjoy the book but wished it could of been longer!
Little Did She Know, by Willow Rose. This was a amazing suspenseful book that will have you anxiously flipping each page just to see how the book will end. I have to tip my hat off to Mrs. Willow Rose for writing a well crafted, and mind tingling book that I simply couldn’t put down. Willow brings back FBI’s special profiler Eva Rae, who is a boss in her own right as woman, and a FBI Agent. I was very pleased to read a book were the woman had a powerful leading character role. Eva Rae displayed her smart, intellectual thinking, and her special skills as a profiler, while she fought to stay on her subjects heels, or toe to toe with the subject. I don’t know about you, but I always love a good suspense or thriller book with action that has your mind running on nothing but adrenaline, only to see if the villain gets his just deserts. Eva and her team certainly will give you this satisfaction and then some. As you read the book, the many twist and unpredicted turns will have you trying to piece the story together, which is always the fun part for me. I loved the swift pace of the book. In my opinion, the book is a page turner that reads quickly. The information supplied in certain parts of the book was informative. These details in the book helped me to understand how certain things took place or shape in the book. As I said before, you will like that the story is a page turner. Some moments in the book will have you a little in shock, but that’s to be expected with a suspenseful book. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!
First things First, thanks NetGalley for providing me an ARC copy of this book.
Another thing probably worth stating is that I started this book without knowing that it was part of a series, yet even if I didn't had all the background of the main and other characters I could read it and understand everything. (And of course I’m gonna read all the others as soon as I can)
So, the book follows an ex FBI agent contacted by the police to help with a case of a missing baby taken from a hospital. This baby has a hearth condition and finding it is a task with a ticking clock. But the day that a baby disappeared a teenager was found, a girl that disappeared years ago from the same hospital when she was just a newborn. With an teen unwilling to talk cooperate the task of finding the newborn girl seems impossible yet every possible clue is worth following. As the story moves we realize that the narration is divided between the present and a similar case that Eva had 13 years ago, when a baby was stollen form a house. The book is easy to follow and fast to read. The need for answers moves the narrative almost on its own. The characters present a mixture of work and home related problems, making them more real to the reeder. A very well written mystery that keeps you constantly on the edge of your sit. A must for everyone who enjoys a good mystery involving detectives, and that could be read in only a few days.
Another excellent page turner by Willow Rose. Without going into spoiler territory, the book included kidnappers, babies lost, babies found, and more! This was a gripping story that kept me glued to the pages until I was done with it.
I received a digital ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.
This was a compelling read, that I found I did not want to put down! Great, multi-faceted characters. Very interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. Suspenseful and thrilling. I felt every emotion. Kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. Simply a GREAT read! #LittleDidSheKnow #NetGalley
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
**I read this book as a stand-alone book and have not read any of the books in the series leading up*
After reading the description of the book, I was excited to dive into this one. Expert FBI profiler helps local law enforcement search for the disappearance of a child, while trying to find out what happened to Clarissa 14 years ago (and are the cases connected). But just a few chapters in, I began having serious issues with this book. The author jumps all place with both timeline and characters. It was extremely difficult to follow. In between "Parts/Chapters" of the book, the author will jump several hours or days in the timeline, but the following chapter, go back to another character who' story line is several days behind... but they somehow all meet up in the current timeline. The dialogue between characters was poorly written and, as much as the author attempts to make the book thrilling and exciting, the plot is extremely unbelievable.
The actions and motives of the characters were unrealistic. The police methods and procedures in the book were outrageous. I still cant get over the part a police officer arrests a grieving father who lost his child, brought him into an interrogation room, accused him of killing his own child and interrogating him after he asked for a lawyer, and then keeping him in jail overnight with no evidence. Even the events leading up to that were mind boggling.
Overall, I had high hopes for this book and I was left disappointed. I know many others have thoroughly enjoyed this book, but I couldn't get past the timeline fumble and the holes in the plot.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review
The premise sounds so good but it's all in a smoke. There is no way this book is written by a multi-million copy bestselling author and Amazon All-star author of more than 80 novels. It is more like written by her teenage daughter on a first attempt to becoming a writer and it fails miserably.
I have not read such a bad book in a very long time. So many one-dimensional characters made very hard to follow the story. Horrible characters and the plot is completely unbelievable. Conversations sound like children talk. The writing style of someone very young or immature. It's like reading about adults' lives through the lens of a teenager and it fails at a great length.
DO not waste your time and money. Any praise or 5 star reviews must be either by young adults or fake.
Thanks to Netgalley for a free copy in change of an honest review. .
This is my first read by this author. I felt it was all over the place. Often times I didn't even know who was speaking. About mid-way through the book it seemed to have some clarity. I am unsure about recommending this book due to this. The story itself was ok, but not great.
Eva Rae Thomas Series ✅ FBI / Law Enforcement ✅ Kidnapped Babies ✅ Mystery / Thriller ✅ Twist & Turns ✅
I should start by saying that I have ONLY ever read author Willow Rose’s Eva Rae Thomas series. I was introduced to the author by this very series and have loved all the previous books and this one just WOW, it did not disappoint.
This novel is one that has a fast-paced page turner that draws in the reader and keeps them at the edge of their seat the entire time.
Fourteen years ago a baby went missing. Fourteen years later that baby, now a teen, is found in a swamp. Badly beaten, confused and pregnant. The missing baby, now found teenage girl, Carissa won’t speak to anyone, not telling anyone what happened to her. But now another baby girl is missing. From the same hospital Carissa went missing fourteen years ago no less. The police believe that the cases are connected. Questions are piling, no answers uncovered and now to race against time since the newly kidnapped baby girl is in need of a life saving heart surgery.
The FBI decides to call in former Profiler Eva Rae Thomas. She is the best but she also knows a personal stake in the case. Especially since being reunited with her sister who was kidnapped when they were little girls.
I am very picky about books. I know, I know it's a book and many things are not real life but it's the passion that her character Eva seems to emit into her case, the rush of racing against time, the elements that can hinder a law enforcement official in a case, etc. I can’t praise Willow enough for always being able to captivate my attention and keeping my face buried in a book until the very end. This book could be read as a standalone but because I have read the rest of the series prior to this one, I can understand more of this story line. Like why it's so personal to MC Eva. Without spoiling too much, in another book we get a glimpse on the day Eva’s sister went missing.
Such an entertaining read with a good mystery and engaging plot that I would recommend to other readers.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Sierra Holmes is just fifteen when she gives birth to her daughter, Desiree. Sierra was a straight A student and all around good girl so it was shocking when she ended up with a teen pregnancy. The father left town and didn’t even leave a forwarding address so Sierra was on her own. He didn’t want the baby. While at the hospital, a nurse takes the baby for a test and disappears with her. Baby Desiree has a rare heart condition and needs surgery so the race is on to find her fast.
Linda Smalls has a small son named Trent but she had a daughter, Clarissa that disappeared 14 years ago from the same hospital that Desiree went missing from. When Clarissa suddenly is found, the police need her help in locating Desiree. Clarissa was called Cate by her captor. She’s 14 and pregnant but she’s not giving the police any information about where she’s been all this time.
FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas is asked to talk to Clarissa. She had a run in with Linda over Trent tripping her son Alex in soccer. Linda isn’t happy that she is handling the case but since she’s the best profiler around she allows it.
Alex Huxley is from the Washington Post in DC and has worked with Eva in the past. He’s always after a story and soon latches onto this one.
We also learn about Amelia and Ron who are new parents to baby Anna. After going to bed and forgetting to lock the back door, they awake to Anna missing. Amelia is a policewoman but is on maternity leave when Anna goes missing. What does their missing baby have to do with this? Will baby Desiree be found in time?
This is my first book by this author. I haven’t read the other books in the series but I was able to follow along. I thought the story was good and look forward to reading more in the series.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

The blurb of this book drew me in immediately. I instantly loved the cover and the title too. And under 300 pages meant this would be a quick read for me. Now I understand this is the last book in a series of mysteries, #10 in the Eva Rae Thomas Mysteries. Full disclosure: I did not read books #1-9. I read this as a stand alone story on my Kindle.
This is the story of Detective Eva Rae Thomas, who is investigating the kidnapping of a brand new baby from the hospital. This book jumps between THEN and NOW. The THEN story is of a woman who had her baby kidnapped from her house. The NOW story is of a young teen who had her baby kidnapped from her hospital room. The first 10% of this book is literally introducing all the characters. I was getting so confused with names and such I had to write it down. Some of the characters have nicknames or double names and I just couldn’t keep up. I wrote it all down and literally had to refer to it in the first half of the book. Then the second half of the book I read much more quickly once I realized who everyone was and the story came together. There was a twist I didn’t see coming that left my mouth agape.
If you’re looking for a quick fun psychological/ true crime/ mystery, this will be great for you. If you’re looking for a deep emotional character developed story, look elsewhere. There were no triggers to warn you of, no gory or spicy scenes. Just an old fashioned simple who-done-it.
Another gripping thriller that hits a little close to home for Eva Rae. When 14 year Clarissa Smalls who was kidnapped from the hospital at birth shows up battered and bruised in central Florida, She refuses to have anything to do with her birth mother and refuses to talk to anyone! But it happens again. Another newborn has been kidnapped from the very same hospital. With everyone trying to find out from Clarissa what happened they find they need to call in FBI profiler, Eva Rae Thomas since they feel she had a similar experience in her family. With so many threads in this one, missing babies over the years and now another goes missing! Eva Rae is passionate mom and so she is also passionate about this case. Trying to get Clarissa to talk about what happened is the hardest thing she can do, but tracking down the missing baby has become a mission with so many twists and turns and red-herrings you are taken on a page turning mission until the surprising ending! I love the Eva Rae Thomas series! She is so real and the author writes so well that not only do you follow the leads with the character, but the author makes you feel what Eva Rae is feeling! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Stirring up memories of her sister being abducted 35 years ago and only recently showing up alive, Eva Rae is assigned to a 14-year-old-case of Clarissa Smalls, who was kidnapped from a maternity ward and mysteriously shows up in a swamp, pregnant, and unwilling to talk with anyone about her ordeal. Eva Rae feels that she is the only one who can get through to the girl and help solve the case. At the same time, another newborn girl is kidnapped from the same maternity ward. This baby needs heart surgery, so the pressure is on to find her quickly. Eva Rae, as always, is passionately involved in the cases, and keeps digging, to the point that she becomes a target as the perp tries to foil the search. Ms. Rose is a master at creating twists and turns, red herrings and surprises into a thrilling story that keeps me on the set of my chair, losing sleep, not wanting to put the book down until the case is solved. This is a great series, with strong characters and multiple story lines woven together skillfully to keep the reader’s interest. I have read all of this series and thoroughly enjoyed each book - you really have to try this author’s work. I received an ARC - this review is my honest opinion - and I purchased a copy to support this great writer.
Thirty-five years ago ex-FBI Profiler Eva Rae Thomas' sister was abducted and only quite recently returned, as an adult. Then 14 years ago, baby Clarissa Smalls was kidnapped from the maternity hospital she'd been born in, only to unexpectedly reappear...pregnant! Rejecting her birth Mom, she's refusing to say anything about events during her 'missing' years. Eva Rae's appointed to the strange case, but has few answers for the Sheriff...who has news for Eva, about Clarissa. Who was the nurse?
Where will police search at Eva Rae's suggestion? Now another baby, Desiree, (born with a life-threatening condition) has been taken from the same Florida hospital and Eva Rae's brought in, to profile the criminal who may have links to all three abductions, in a race against the clock!
Allow Rose brilliantly ratchets up the tension to screaming point and your emotions finely balanced on a knife edge, as the desperate search for Desiree/Sandy is frustratingly slow and the outcome uncertain. Get Little Did She Know today and keep your baby monitor on at full volume!
It's a girl! After fourteen years a kidnapped girl is found in the swamp, turn out she was kidnapped shortly after birth from the very same hospital that has just had another newborn baby snatched. Because of her past, Eva Rae Thomas is asked to help in this case where time is of the essence to return the most recently kidnapped baby to the hospital where she was born. I must admit that Eva Rae is my favorite character, but all of the characters are well written, fascinating, and I think they're pretty realistic. Even though Eva Rae doesn't care for the woman whose daughter has suddenly reappeared, she is determined to find out where the girl has been, and being a mother herself, she hopes to find the answer to the disappearance of the most recent kidnap victim. After all, Eva Rae doesn't believe in coincidences. I couldn't put it down! From the first page this book grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. Adults behaving badly, suspense, action, and dizzying twists in the plot make this a must read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
How far would you go to have a child? Agent Eva Rae Thomas has been asked to help with a young girl that has been found. She was found in the middle of the swamp but the strangest thing is that she has been missing for 14 years. Where has she been all this time? Who took her and why is she free now? Eva knows that she needs to find answers and now that another baby has been taken the pressure is on. The latest case is urgent as the baby has a heart condition and she needs surgery will Eva & the team be able to find her in time? Eva has enough problems without reporter Alex Huxley waiting to know what is happening with both cases. It is hard enough trying to ignore the attraction that there is between them. Can she unravel the past to find the answers to both cases? A gripping read. Full of surprises. Nothing is as it seems. I love Eva Rae as she is a mother that has issues but she always does the best that she can. Thank you to Netgalley & Buoy Media for the ARC copy. This is my voluntary review of the gripping read.
This is book ten in the Eva Rae Thomas series and boy, what a story. It is very difficult to review this book without giving away parts of the plot, needless to say, the plot has more twists and turns than a corkscrew. The book starts with a series of smaller mysteries which the author cleverly weaves together to form one huge plot. Babies are disappearing over a period of years, could there be a connection ? Eva Rae is on a deadline, the latest kidnapped baby must be found, the babies life was on the line. As with all Willow Rose mysteries the suspects are many and the clues are few, the plot gets thicker and thicker but thing may not be what they seem. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as I have all of Willow Rose's books, it is a real page turner, there is plenty of action, suspense in spades, an ending that took me completely by surprise and perhaps even a hint of romance for Eva Rae. A well deserved five stars.
Fourteen years ago, a baby was kidnapped, and the baby's mother was devastated. Fourteen years later a girl was found in the swamps. It turned out to be her missing daughter. But she didn't know her mother. Then she found out her daughter was pregnant. The mother was dumbfounded and went from a high to a deep low. Then, another baby was stolen from the same hospital! Eva Rae was called in to work with the FBI. The baby was not found right away. And...the girl's mother disappeared along with the 14 year old girl Things were not going as hoped for. Mystery upon mystery started to appear. Red herrings started to appear. Where is the girl, where is her mother? Where is the newborn baby that has a bad heart and needs an operation? Eva Rae has a gut feeling but it is hard to actually convince anyone to take her seriously. This is a fast-reading story with lots of excitement The author. Willow Rose, is at the top of her form and if you like a good mystery this story is for you.
This was a really good thriller/mystery. It's definitely more on the side of a mystery though, so if you're looking to get your heart beating in fear, this is not the book for you. On the other hand, if you want a good mystery with intertwined plotlines, this is for you.
It was hard to keep track of all the characters and plot in the beginning and I had to reread certain chapters to remind myself of which family experienced what. But after I finished the novel, I realized the importance of all characters so it balances out. I was actually pretty impressed by the way all the characters and the plots came together in the end. And the twist at the end where the truth was revealed was good and surprised me. I didn't expect the ending at all.
I also recently realized this is book 10 of a series, so if you want more, check out the other books in the series.
I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Little Did She Know is a hard book for me to rate. I did finish and the mystery ended up having depth and some nice twists and turns. I struggled with the beginning of this book. Each chapter was a different viewpoint character and they weren't labeled very well. I was well into the book before I figured out who was who.
This is the a first book that I've read by this author and in this series. Maybe if I'd read others in the series, I would have connected to the characters more. As it was, I would have put the book down and not read more except I gave my word that I would read this story and write a review.
The tension in the story after the half way point does make you want to keep reading. The characters are interesting. I doubt I will try another Willow Rose book simply because this one was so confusing to me and so hard to connect to. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #littledidsheknow #netgalley
Little Did She Know by Willow Rose is a gripping thriller that kept me guessing until the very end. The story dives into dark secrets, unexpected twists, and a chilling mystery that unfolds layer by layer. Willow Rose has a way of creating tension and suspense that makes it impossible to put the book down.
The characters are flawed and complex, which made them feel real, even when their actions were surprising—or downright shocking. The pacing was quick, and the alternating perspectives added to the intrigue, slowly revealing how everything was connected. While some twists felt a bit over the top, the overall story was so engaging that it didn’t take away from the enjoyment.
If you’re a fan of thrillers that keep you on edge with plenty of surprises, Little Did She Know is definitely worth picking up. Willow Rose delivers another page-turner!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Eva Rae is starting on a new case. A 14 year old girl is found alone in Florida. She refuses to speak with anyone, but DNA proves that she was kidnapped as an infant.
Around the same time, another baby is kidnapped from the same hospital. Thus starts the investigation for both cases. Eva is a profiler consultant. Not only is she smart, but she is tenacious, even putting her life on the line.
This is an exciting book that you won't want to put down. Especially if you're an Eva Rae fan. The reader can enjoy this book, even if you haven't read the previous books. I think the reader may enjoy the book a bit more if you have started on Eva Rae's journey at the beginning.
This book is most suitable for mature readers. I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author. This is my honest review.
Little did she know is one of the best mysteries I have ever read. It is astonishing and enthralling. The mystery that ties the events together is a kidnapping situation which occurred fourteen years ago and another of similar characteristics that happened afterwards. Both stories sound similar and it is the job of Eva Rae Thomas to untangle what is going on here. I particularly loved that even though the story starts with the appearance of Clarissa, the first kidnapped girl, the narrative does not end just there. The author was able to maintain suspense until the very last end. Readers’ emotions are awakened since one can perceive Clarissa’s parents suffering and her own ordeal even coming out of the pages. This book is a well-written one, full of discourse elements and figures of speech that have been strategically placed in the storyline.
This thriller was a really quick read and a 4 star good time. I read it in one sitting. There are multiple stories going on with many characters, but I did not find it confusing or hard to keep track. It all wraps up in the end, and I never did figure out the mystery on my own—a huge bonus.
It is #10 in a series, however I have never read any of the others and I found this to stand well on its own. This happens to me every now and then with Netgalley—they don’t disclose that a book is a part of a series. I suppose that is intentional to get members to request a book without having read the others, but it irks me because I get duped and who really wants to start a series at number ten? I would be interested in reading the other nine because this was such a quick read, but probably won’t go out of my way to do so.
Wow! I have to say this was my first Willow Rose mystery and I’m still shocked - how did she do that!? I mean it’s all there and completely laid out, no questions out it but I didn’t have the mystery solved until she wanted me to. She’s a genius and I’ll be hunting down more of her work as soon as possible!
Eva, Alex and Walsh hunt down the answers for a girl appeared and a newborn missing. The multiple threads that seem to only be slightly connected are carefully sewn together to reveal a conclusion like no other. I could feel the emotions of the characters - sadness, exhaustion, desperation and the urgency. I could even taste the stake out M&Ms. I finished in one sitting, literally nothing could have made me put this book down.
I highly recommend this book to everyone that enjoys a good thrilling mystery!
