What happens when our dreams and reality begin to blur together?

Serena Indigo has the perfect life. A handsome husband, a beautiful daughter, a gated home, and a rewarding career as a physician, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She’s helped hundreds of people complete their families, which means all that more to her considering the lengths she went through for her own child. She even has a private practice with her best friend, Parker Sully, who is easy on the eyes and kinder on the soul. Sure, she sets herself to extremely high standards and is obsessed with perfection—which triggers a darkness of her own—but she’s managed to keep it under control.

She’s always in control.

When suspicious things start to unravel, Serena begins to lose control over the perfection she thrives off of. Her husband breaks the vows he promised her, her neighbors aren’t the sweet family next door and her perfect life seems more like the perfect lie. Her world crumbles in front of her eyes as she tries to piece it all together, but what happens when we look into our reflection and the pain of our past haunts our present?

After all, you can’t piece together a broken mirror and expect to see the same reflection…

Please excuse me because I know I am way late to the party over here but My my my, Girl in the Reflection had my head spinning so much that I had to go back and REREAD the entire book for a second time because I couldn’t believe what I just read! 🤯🤯🤯

How can I even explain this without spoiling it? All I will say is assume nothing. Each chapter will hold another revelation, another piece to the puzzle until you have all the pieces. You won’t have the truth until the last pages and it will leave you flooded. You’ll want to reread the book again and again because there will be something you missed the last time because nothing is what it seems. 👹👹👹

5 huge stars for playing me like a fool Monica Arya 🤣🤣

WOAH! I was hooked from the dedication page and could not put it down!! If I could function without sleep I would have finished this in one go but yanno... necessities or whatever. Anyways, this book is 100% a psychological thriller and an excellent one at that. The first half gave me the chills, then my jaw broke from dropping so hard at the first big twist, and then my head was spinning with the ending and all the twists and turns. PHENOMENAL. Emotional and raw, suspenseful and addictive, with one of the best mindf*cks I've ever read. I truly was stumped the entire time reading this and I pride myself on being able to figure out the direction of a lot of thrillers but I wasn't even remotely close with this one. This book deserves all the attention in the world!!

Serena Indigo has spent her life striving for perfection, no matter the cost to herself. She is a daughter, wife, mother, and a successful doctor. She's married to her college love, Eric, and works with her best friend, Parker, things are great. She has a wonderful house, an amazing daughter, and a happy marriage, albeit it different than it once was. Her obsession with perfection has led to inner darkness but she keeps it under wraps, she can't let any imperfection show. But something isn't quite right... things seem to be going missing and she swears she isn't paranoid, she starts to question herself and those around her. Serena is quickly losing her grip on her perfect life. "Her world crumbles in front of her eyes as she tries to piece it all together, but what happens when we look into our reflection and the pain of our past haunts our present?

I need everyone I know to read this and then message me immediately because I need to talk about it. Monica, you're a wonder and I cannot wait for your future work! And thank you for letting me message you a million times as I processed this amazing book!

What did I just read? Seriously?? This was such a fun read and the ending, in typical Monica style, will leave your head spinning. It’s one of those endings that change your whole perspective on the story.

You can’t glue a broken mirror back together and expect to see your same reflection back. This quote/sentence sums up this book perfectly. I loved Serena’s story - the heartache, her dumb ass husband, her love, and her journey.

I have throughly enjoyed reading Monica’s books - all of them will stay with me forever. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. They each leave a little something special inside of your heart when you’re done reading them.

The mind is a powerful thing, and when it breaks it can alter your life forever. Always put your mental health as a top priority. Without it, you’ll fall in every aspect of life.

Read this book! Then read all of Monica’s other books! You’re in for a treat.

For the life of ne I Failed to understand the high score the book received here. After reading 25% of the book, I discovered that this is not really a book but just a diary of a married woman serving as a doctor.
I read the first 20%, but then I started skipping pages. In the end I realized that there is not much point in continuing.
The description of the book on Goodreads & Amazon sites also seems completely unclear, regarding the essence and subject of the book.
Anyway I jump to the last chapter where I realized that I made the right decision. Don't want to write a spoiler.
There is a special name for that genre of books. The author is being called: "Unreliable Narrator"

OK Monica you have done it again girl. I am reading and catching up on Monica’s backlist and I am loving it.This is my seventh book that I’ve read from Monica and the seventh book I’ve loved. This particular book has been on my tbr, for over a year now. (Along with Shades Of Her) So I’m so glad I finally read it.
I have to say that I actually listened to this on audio. I was so surprised when I was searching for my next listen and I came across three books that Monica now has as audiobooks. Two of which I already read, so that was why I picked this book. It was so great! The narrator did an awesome job. 👏🏻👏🏻
Monica, if this is where you started writing your thrillers, this is one hell of a thriller debut. 😳
This was a psychological thriller with an emphasis on psychological. Wow! This was so clever and so twisted.
You meet for the first time Dr. Serena Indigo. She has what looks like the perfect life. A handsome husband, a beautiful daughter and a fulfilling career that she shares with her best friend Parker Sully.
But her marriage to Eric, her college sweetheart, is starting to show little cracks. She starts noticing Eric spending a lot of time talking with their attractive neighbor. Suspicious things begin to happen and Serena’s perfect life is beginning to unravel. Things and people are not what they seem.
And that’s all I really want to say. I don’t want to spoil anything. Just know this is a wild ride with twist s and turns that will keep you guessing the whole time. And whoa! What an ending! 🤯
This was such a great book. I highly recommend to any one who loves psychological thrillers. This book does not disappoint. This was a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars for me!! Again, highly recommend.

Have you read any of Monica Arya’s books yet? Which one is your favorite? I feel like mine is still the first one I read by her, Don’t Believe Him. It was my first by her and it made me love her. And now I’ve read 7 books by her, loving every one of them. 🙌🏻♥️

Hold onto your hats kids because this book is going to take you on a ride! About halfway through I was thinking I was going to give this book 3 stars it wasn’t bad. It was just kinda bumbling along and although I didn’t hate it I wasn’t wowed by it either. I hadn’t read the blurb and didn’t know much about the book and was confused about how the story would unfold.

However by 80% of the way through, I was in shock and that shock just kept growing until I ended this book. Twist after twist and shocking revelations coming left right and centre. A big shout out is owed to one of my best friends for recommending this author to me, as Monica Arya is the gift that keeps giving and giving. I want to write this review faster just so that I can start reading another book by her quicker.!!!!

Monica put the PSYCHOLOGICAL in psychological thriller with Girl in the Reflection!
The characters are so believable, whether they’re likeable or not. When the pieces of the story come together, you will be BLOWN AWAY; this was one of the best mindf**ks I’ve ever read in a thriller. 🤯 THIS is how you write a psychological storyline. It’s disturbing, shocking and unpredictable. You’ll become immersed into Serena’s head. Youll try to understand their motives. You’ll assume you know what’s happening but you’ll be SO wrong.

I was hooked from the very beginning. This is a BINGE-worthy book so plan to block out a few hours because you won’t be doing anything else. I read it from start to finish, in one sitting, within a few hours. It’s THAT good, friends! THE TWIST - - - 🤭 I was still REELING after that last line and I HAD to talk it over with Monica because there’s just so much to unpack! She was so very sweet to answer my questions and her perspective on characters and certain plot lines made it that much more IMPECCABLE!

Let me stop here because I won’t spoil any of it; you just need to run out and get it when it’s available on 11/8!
Thank you so much Monica for my review copy and for chatting with me!

Serena Indigo is a wife, mother, and respected OBGYN. She has helped countless couples conceive and deliver healthy babies, which is all the more special given her own struggles with fertility. Thanks to being raised by an overbearing mother, Serena is a bit of a perfectionist, and starts to spiral when things aren't 100% in her control.

Seemingly in an instant, Serena's life begins to unravel: her husband is no longer the man she thought he was, something's up with her neighbors, and crisis after crisis ensues. As she tries to put the pieces of her life back together, she realizes there is something seriously sinister happening.

This is the definition of a psychological thriller. The big reveal was so good I had to backtrack a few pages and make sure I fully understood. (Also thank you Monica for answering my questions about the ending!) I'm typically not one to re-read books, but this one may have to be revisited upon knowing how it all turned out.

A verified unputdownable!

BOOK REVIEW- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi guys, it's me again coming at you with another must read 5 star book! First off, thank you so much to @monicaaryaauthor for reaching out and letting me read her fantastic book in exchange for an honest review. I mean this in the best way possible- what in the world did I just read?! My mind is blown!! It's been a minute since I have been so immersed in a book because I can't decide which characters are bad and which are good. I felt so many emotions while reading this because I found myself relating to parts of the character and rooting for her as she tries to piece together the broken shards of her own "mirror". I don't want to give anything away that would ruin the storyline/plot for you so just do yourself a favor and pick this one up! Psychological thriller fans will devour this book that is currently available in Paperback on Amazon. 11/8/21 is the release date for Kindle Unlimited, Target, and Barnes & Noble!

You guys, this book!! What a wonderful psychological thriller. I had no idea what was going to happen.

I loved all the twists, turns, and being on the edge of my seat trying to figure it out.
The book starts off giving you chills in the first few chapters, and keeps going throughout the book, making you question everything and everyone. And the ending….AHH!!! I had to go back a few pages and make sure I read it all right.

While this book was such a good thriller it also broke my heart.. I don’t want to give anything away with my review, so I am just going to leave it at that..

Read this. Read this book and then talk to me about it because WOW. It's so good

This book had me captivated from beginning to end. A tale of a woman so deeply embedded with trauma not only from childhood but also by a husband who is degrading and unloyal, that she tries to find comfort through her best friend and self harm. When strange things start happening around her house Serena is on edge wondering who is after her, what they want and why they are doing the the devious things they are doing. Nothing is as it seems, no one is exactly who they seem and the pieces won’t come together until the very end, and even then you are left questioning. Girl in the Reflection is highly entertaining and not one to miss out on!

"When you laugh, the world will come over and laugh with you. When you cry, the world will abandon you and laugh at you."

A young doctor with a small child, narcissistic husband, and hot business partner struggles to maintain her work-life balance as her grasp on reality starts to unfurl.

This is a twisty mind fuck that got off to a slow start but once I reached the halfway point, I had to blow off my Saturday
-night plans, open my mouth wide, and devour it whole. Upon completion, it whirled around in my head for a few days as the multiple layers of impact unfurled.

Arya is a gifted storyteller with spectacular ideas. The statements she made regarding loss, grief, coping, and mental health were profound and thought-provoking. I also related to her depiction of a woman struggling to break away from the fixtures in her life determined to stuff her into a box she does not fit in.

My struggle in the beginning sat solely with the narrative style. Frequently breaking away from the present action to relay background information, I felt a little yanked around. But this is something I have a known issue with and a different reader may not have noticed it or been bothered at all.

The utter absurdity of trying to achieve perfection, and the pressure others put on women especially, is a theme Arya heavily explores. The real-life consequences she depicts are handled with sensitivity and honesty, and then dissolve into a madness that just kind of blew my mind.

I am absolutely looking forward to watching Arya as an author and excited to read her future work.

An Asian-American author with immense talent and magic with her words. I am in awe of this author's work. This book was captivating, terrifying, chilling and shocking. There were moments as a mother, I cried. The emotion you feel within the words and pages is an experience. Just when you think you've figured it all out - bang! Ms. Arya shakes your world and turns the course of the story in the best way possible. I am in awe by this authors ability to write both romance and thriller with such ease. Excellent and TRUE psychological thriller. Supporting Asian-American female authors has been my goal of 2022 and Monica Arya is one that deserves all the applauds and recognition.

This book gives me all of the feels. It gives me the creeps when Serena is at home and it seems things have disappeared, been left open, or hears footsteps upstairs. Her neighbors give me the shivers because they are quite odd and something isn’t quite right. Serena’s husband Eric is a straight up narcissistic jerk, who is messing around. This book is a page turner and keeps you locked in. The book takes a crazy turn and leaves your mind blown. I absolutely love how this author writes and how captivating the story line is. Great story line. Great character development. Definitely recommend.

I would rate this a TEN star book if I could. From the very first page, I was drawn in and couldn't stop binge reading. This is a true psychological thriller with all the twists, turns and more. The biggest thing I will say is I usually can figure out what the outcome will be but Monica Arya is a mastermind. She had me stumped until the very last page. BUY this book! The paperback is stunning, too! Hands down one of the best psychological thrillers I've read!

Just when I thought I had it figured out, it completely shocked me again. The writing is gripping, the atmosphere is chilling, and the suspense is next level. And that ending?
