On possibly their best adventure yet, Paul and the gang set off on one of the premier long-distance footpaths of the world, The West Highland Way.
Walking from the outskirts of Glasgow, the boys head for the hills and glens of beautiful Scotland, and once again discover all sorts of weird and wonderful stories along the way. From a train combined with an aeroplane, to historic heroes of Scotland of old such as Rob Roy, to ghost stories and haunted pubs, learn about the people and the places along this amazing 96-mile trek through some of the most beautiful places in the world. Walking through film sets and battlefields, across beautiful moors and mountains, the boys try to stay one step ahead of the infernal Scottish midge.
But it's not just walking and history. Our intrepid idiots do everything wrong so you don't have to.
Find out who ends up in the hospital and who is the target of a drone strike, and discover who rescues the boys when everything goes south despite the path going north. Be with them as they bump into a bear, and generally get lost in the woods, all the while enjoying one of the greatest trips of their life, quite literally on the journey of a lifetime. Will they make it? Read on to find out.
If you have ever done this walk, then there is definitely something new for you within these pages that will make you want to do it again. And if you are considering walking this route, then make sure to read this before you go and you will have a much richer journey.
Paul and the gang have completed many long-distance footpaths throughout the UK, and their previous adventures include Hadrian's Wall Path: A Walk Through History, Rambling On: Lost on the Cleveland Way, Coast to Coast: Finding Wainwright's England and many more.
Another book in this series that I have thoroughly enjoyed I find myself so hooked on the humour and adventure that I can crack through his books I an evening. I am sure that I will enjoy this same book again in the future, maybe as I walk the west highland way since reading these books I have rediscovered my own love of walking. Thank you Paul Amess
A lighthearted book about three friends struggles and achievements while walking the West Highland Way. A lightweight and entertaining book which includes some historical facts as well as describing the disasters and achievements of the author and his two friends. This is the fourth book in the series that I have read and have enjoyed them all.
