The devil whispered my name, and I fell willingly.
Whisked off to Hell, I’m now at the center of a coup to overthrow Lucifer. The one I fell for.
The man I love.
War is approaching and the line between good and evil has never been so blurry. Who to trust is even less clear. A pact between witches and rogue demons has forced unlikely alliances. There are new players in this game, and they’re fierce. Lucifer will have to put his plans for me aside and rule Hell like he’s meant to.
We’re all forced to make decisions that will change everything.
My fall was for a greater purpose. One predestined. I’m nothing but a pawn for both sides, and that begs the question . . . who do I fight for?
Melissa Winters writes coming of age, paranormal romances. She finally mustered up the courage to push publish, and now she's sitting back and biting her nails--which is one of her many bad habits. Writing and coffee keep her sane, but have also contributed to her being nocturnal! All things paranormal and witchy excite her!
She lives in the burbs of Cincinnati with her family who puts up with her constant daydreaming.
There are too many things that happened in this book that I didn't like.
⤏ What to expect: ∘ New Adult ∘ Urban Fantasy ∘ Paranormal Romance ∘ Angels - Fallen Angels - Nephilim ∘ Demons - Witches - Vampires - Werewolves - Zombies ∘ The Devil ∘ Reapers ∘ War ⤏ Tropes: ∘ Enemies to Lovers ∘ Insta-love ∘ Love triangle
I can't say I liked the developments in this last installment. ∘ The plot was beginning to look something like "who would Victoria choose as her husband?" than "let's save the world from the demons!". No. I didn't like this change. ∘ Worldbuilding? Not much changed. ∘ Characters? Well, Tori grew more annoying by the second, acting worse than a high school girl. By the end I was so done with her bullshit. I liked River though, he was cool. ∘ Romance — I don't know why we needed another love triangle. And after what we found out by the end ... it almost made me want to throw up. No spoilers but... I mean was that really necessary? why? I'm not going to lie to you: I was disgusted.
⤏ Conclusion I felt like there were too many unnecessary things/events thrown in this book and that kind of ruined the series for me.
«⋯ Fallen Hunters series ⋯» #1 Fear the Fall — 3.5🌟 #2 Trust the Fall — 2🌟
I have to start out by saying this cover is simply stunning & it's been so hard to take my eyes away from it to be honest. Melissa Winters is a new to me author, and now she won't be able to get rid of me because she's brilliant. I've been reading more about fallen angels again (used to be all I read in the past), and Trust the Fall is definitely high on the list for me. It's completely original in the telling, and I swear to all that's holy, I felt like I was gearing up for battle alongside these paranormal beings. The book came out of the gate with a bang, and never slowed from there, so I found myself on the edge of my seat while devouring every last page in one sitting. The moment I finished it, I actually thought about starting it all over again but adulting was mean & wouldn't allow for it. I will be revisiting it over & over again, and especially after all the books are released as it's that good, and everyone needs it in their lives! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
5 AMAZING STARS!! I freaking loved this book. It kept me flipping pages just like I knew it would from the first book. Victoria and Lucifer will take you on one check of a journey....so buckle up.
Book two of the magnificent fallen hunters series. How would I describe this book? Answer AWESOME!!!!! I loved reading this book I love Lucifer and Victoria. I loved reading this book it had me on the edge of my seat. Lots of action, hot steamy romance, shocking betrayals and discoveries this was an entertaining and enjoyable book to read. I have enjoyed this series immensely. I love the vast supernatural collection of vampires, werewolves, fae, reapers, angels, demons. A definite must read this series.
This book starts off in Luke aka Lucifer’s point of view of when he first met Victoria and his thoughts of her. Before returning to the present it’s been two weeks since Nolda Lucifer’s rogue demon in the guise of Zeke kidnapped Victoria and dragged to her hell but the Will of god has locked Lucifer out of hell. Desperate to get to her. Michael, Lucifer, Leanne, Malachi and Zeke gather in meeting and learn the truth from Michael that heaven deliberately wanted Victoria to fall from heaven, she was needed on earth. Victoria is born of two angels Camilla the queen of the reapers is her mother who was punished after having an affair with the archangel Michael, Victoria’s father, he didn’t know she was his daughter until after she was dragged to hell. Camilla was exiled from heaven and kept from both of them. Victoria needed to find out the truth about herself. After been kept in hell for two weeks humiliated and locked in a cage, the angels and Lucifer were able to rescue her with the help of a reaper River. Victors was shocked by the truth and isn’t willing to forgive Michael for treating her like garbage after she was exiled from heaven. But Nolda hasn’t given up he wants Lucifer’s throne and kingdom. There’s some tension that arises River is Victoria’s betrothed and Lilith desires Lucifer and is happy to show her memories of them having sex in the past causing friction between Lucifer and Victoria even more so because Lucifer knows Victoria doesn’t belong in hell and tries to push her away because he knows she needs to go to the reaper kingdom to learn about herself. She does, she meets reapers and her mother and convinces her to help Lucifer especially when Nolda attacks hell, they fight and win but Lucifer is fatally wounded protecting Victoria who prays to god to heal him he answers her prayer and tells them lessons needed to be learned Lucifer’s place is in hell and because he abandon hell this coup was allowed to happen Lucifer agrees to stay in hell but so does Victoria her mother agrees not to retire and one day she will reign over the reaper kingdom by using a chancellor so she can Also rule alongside Lucifer’s as the queen of hell. Together the angels, Lucifer, Victoria and the reapers start making plans to deal with souls for a better future and purgatory . I loved the fact that Lucifer proposed to her and gave her a black diamond, i liked the fact that she made up with Leanne and Zeke. This was a fantastic series to read. I’ll definitely reread it again in the future.
This book was so not what I was expecting after reading Fear the Fall but still what a rollercoaster of a read. The action starts on the first page and doesn’t let up for a second. Angels, demons, vampires and reapers abound with most of the action being set in Hell. There are battles galore where the lines have shifted and it’s no longer simply good versus evil but rather more fifty shades of the damned and in this instance it’s obviously better the devil you know when Satan has to defend his throne against the betrayal of some of his higher demons with the assistance of some surprising allies. It’s no longer a case of heaven, hell or earth as new worlds are introduced and at the centre of it all is Victoria English, a fallen virtue angel but did she really fall or was she pushed? Everyone seems to have their own agenda involving Victoria but she’s no longer the girl who is simply going to accept God’s will and let heaven dictate her actions. She’s ready to fight for the man she loves even if he is Lucifer and who is ready to sacrifice their love to save mankind.
Trust the Fall had me gripped from the start. Would Victoria survive Hell intact? Would Luke defeat his enemies? What is the big conspiracy surrounding Victoria? What about the Vampire king and his brother? My mind was going at 100 miles an hour as I read. Some of my questions were answered but not all. With the threat of a larger battle yet to come looming over them I’m hoping we haven’t heard the last of Victoria, Luke and the others.
This was a very interesting take on the whole heaven and hell world. It was very unexpected and intriguing.
This was the second book in the series and I really wished I had read the first book. I feel as if I missed a very important part in the beginning of the series by not reading the first book. Other than that, I was able to keep up with the story without feeling lost.
Victoria has fallen from Heaven. Tricked by the Devil himself, Victoria finds herself in a forbidden love. Last to discover the plot Heaven puts her in to get the Devil back to his rightful place on the throne in Hell, she finds her life is full of secrets kept from her. War is brewing between Hell and Earth. Can Victoria fulfill her destiny and have the love she desires?
Overall this book is an action packed book, that takes off from the very beginning. The characters are interesting and intriguing. Not what you would come to expect from the Angels and Devil. They definitely have a unique twist to their personalities.
The story is full of violence and deception, yet it is fun, snarky and highly entertaining. The story has a very unexpected plot twist that is jaw dropping. But I do have to warn you there are some triggers of not so nice scenes that include kidnapping and torture.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and wonder if the story is to continue as it hints around to more. Looking forward to seeing it continue.
I know we say don't judge a book by it's cover and I totally agree with the sentiment in real life like when it comes to people, I can't help but judge a literal book by it's cover and a cover doesn't get more beautiful than this. This book instantly caught my eye because of the cover and I knew I had to read it.
I hadn't read anything by Melissa Winters before but now that I have, I'm definitely coming back for more because this was AMAZING. As a lover of paranormal romance and fallen angels, this book was like a dream come true for all my fallen angel fantasies.
The writing is phenomenal, the story is so incredibly original and it is absolutely impossible not to fall in love with all of the characters. The story is so interesting, it keeps you on the edge of your seat every second of the book and you never want to put it down. I felt like I was actually with them in all the scenes, lost in the book. Highly recommend🥺
Victoria has now been taken to Hell, a place of evil. Yet it is also the place that the man she loves reigns over… or at least, he did. Plots to overthrow Lucifer have gotten him locked out of Hell, where Victoria is now a prisoner.
With war steadfastly approaching, Victoria isn’t sure who she can trust. The lines are being drawn between good and evil, and everyone must make unlikely alliances and make hard decisions… including Lucifer and Victoria.
Wow!!! I absolutely loved this book. It was super fast paced, but didn’t feel rushed. I loved all the action, and all the new characters I got to meet. I also really admire Victoria’s strength. She’s literally been through so much, but she still manages to keep her head up and have faith in herself and the man she loves.
Lucifer. I have so many emotions about him, but overall, I really love how his character progresses over the course of this book. I also love that he would destroy anything and anyone if it meant keeping Victoria safe. He might have a past, but his love for her is true. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I will be looking into Melissa Winters’ other work. Go read this right now!!!
I started with Fear the Fall and I was totally entranced. Trust the Fall was SOOOO GOOD! If you like stories about angels, demons and other paranormal beings, then this is for you.
So Trust the Fall starts right where the previous book ends... with Victoria waking up after being abducted by who she thought was Zeke but instead it was the vampire that is trying to take over hell. He has taken her prisoner and wants to use her to get to Luke (aka Lucifer).
I felt like Zeke redeemed himself by the end of the book and I hope he finds his HEA in a book of his own. I also hope that River gets his own story and HEA- I really liked his character. But this story is all about the love Luke and Victoria have for each other and of course the secret regarding 1) her birth ( yes... birth lol), 2) who her parents are and 3) what God wants her to do.
This is a great duet... I'll have to read the Blood Legends series next so I can find out about Julian and Law!!
Victoria & Luke are back and now Luke is taking on Heaven & Hell to get to his girl!
"That's right love. For you, I will beat my chest and claim what's mine."
We learn about Victoria and her partners let's just say we learn more about Heavens rules and what Angel can & can not do...no spoilers. Victoria now and again questions Luke a.k.a Lucifer love to her because previously he checked her to fall and that when he learn that she was this soulmate. I recommend you read book 1 to learn their beginning 🥰
Luke/Lucifer is showing everyone that he loves Victoria, his soulmate. He has prove it with his actions and both worlds see it...no spoilers NOW he next challenge is to get is throne back and to help Victoria with her destiny
We have Angels , steany romance and all underworld creatures and a hint of a love triangle 🖤 OH and another thing a war is going thanks for the heads up God 😆
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TRUST THE FALL" OMG!!! What a way to start off this next book dealing with Rogue Demons, Witches, pacts, alliances, new players, laugh out loud moments, snarky comments, twists that have you turning the pages. Victoria was sent to Hell the center of everything that happening to overthrow Lucifer who she's in love with a war is coming they all have decisions to make that could change everything. I loved Victoria & Lucifer's journey he will destroy anyone or anything that trys to hurt Victoria he save her at any cost. Victoria feels like a pawn for both side she doesn't know who to trust she so strong, fierce, the line between good & evil has never been blurry everyone will make unlikely alliance make hard decisions even her & Lucifer.. I definitely recommend to get this extremely well written story by Melissa Winters it won't disappoint so well worth the read I hope there'll be more in the future with some of the new characters. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!
Trust the Fall is the 2nd book in the Fallen Hunters Series by@MelissaWinters. I inhaled these books and there are more coming. In this one, our heroine Victoria English learns what her destiny is and who her parents were. She is conflicted by her responsibilities which are not of her own decisions and what she wants for her life. Lucifer must defend his reign over hell being overtaken by other demons who don't care if humanity is destroyed. It will take Fallen Angels, vampires, and other paranormals to ban together in order to reclaim balance. Victoria and Lucifer continue navigating what their future can be. I loved them together I have to say. I loved the humor in this book and the backstory of the Fallen Angels and that Lucifer was portrayed in a different narrative. I really enjoyed this series and can't wait for the follow-up books to get published.
It looks like 2022 is starting off with high expectations! The author has taken the concept of Heaven & Hell and good and evil and created a new level of thinking. We all know the story of Lucifer and his fall from Heaven which leads him to be the lord over hell yet not everything is black and white. The author has risen the stakes and actually has you falling for Lucifer and in awe of Victoria. No eye rolls here :( You can read the blurb and get the idea of what this book is about but believe me it doesn't do it justice. I am a new reader to Melissa Winters and now a fan! I found myself lost in the story and all the characters and look forward to reading more on this concept and learning more about other characters that were part of this story. Outstanding!
I have been so excited to read this book especially after the cliffhanger in the previous book. So I thought that there were twists and secrets like in Fear the Fall but oh boy I was not ready for the ones that were revealed in this book.
I am in total awe of just how strong and fierce Tori is. I love how she never gives up no matter what happens. There were several moments where she had me laughing out loud especially with her snarky comments.
I loved the way that Tori’s story ended and I would love to see more of her in the future. I also hope that River will get his own book because I absolutely love him.
✨ARC Review ✨ *** Thank you to Grey's Promotions and Melissa Winter for the ARC to review. *** This book stoled my heart. Fear the Fall was amazing but Trust the Fall was truly epic. Luke had me smitten. He was perfect. Sinful, protective, an alpha male, funny, and sexy has Hell. I loved him and Victoria. They were perfect for each other. Victoria pretty badass as well. She didn't let anyone boss her around and took charge of her destiny. The story line was great and the twists and turns had me at the edge of my seat. I loved the sexy scenes and the writing was beautiful. I could picture every detail and feel ever emotion. *** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This has been an exciting ride. I love monsters, I love epic battles of good verses evil so what better then book that has it all. Not only does it have it all but you can no longer tell exactly which side is good and which side is evil or is it the creatures who are manipulating things. All we know for sure is everyone has an agenda and it seems it involves Victoria, everyone except Lucifer he just wants to save her. And Victoria we already know she's no wallflower and won't stand ideally by. But who can they trust to get back to each other, the answers will surprise you. This book is so incredible I hope we get more from these characters. I have voluntarily left this review.
Whew am I glad that this book is completed! So much happened in this book but Luke and Victoria found their happy ending!
There was a lot that happened in the plot and I felt a bit overwhelmed by it, but it shows that the author has a lot of world building in mind for this story and other stories connected to this world.
“Trust the Fall” built heavily on “Fear the Fall” and I enjoyed the continuation of Victoria and Luke’s story and finding out more about Victoria’s origin story and why she was so important to Heaven, Hell and the Reaper kingdom.
3 and 1/2 to 4 ⭐️ for me.
Thank you to Valentine PR for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The continuation of the fallen with Victoria, the fallen angel, and Luke/Lucifer. Much of this novel takes place in hell, as she's taken and held there while Luke and others are kept out. Someone is trying to take over the underworld, and Victoria has to fight to save herself, Lucifer, and the structure of heaven/hell as she knows it.
You finally get to know who Victoria really is, and her role in all of this, as well as those of others around her including Zeke, her parents, and her destiny.
Seems like there's more to this story and could be continued.
Demons & Angels....Oh My! Whats an angel to do when she falls in love with Lucifer? Winters says to fight for that love! This book was exciting, sad. and sexy all rolled into one. I enjoyed the characters, both returning for the second book and the new ones you meet in Hell.
Winters does a fantastic job of setting the scene and pulling you into the story. Plus, who doesn't want to root for the "bad" guy every once in a while?⠀⠀⠀⠀
The battle for Hell is coming. There are those want Lucifer overthrown, but Lucifer has vowed to keep his thrown. Victoria is battling for what her heart wants and what others say her destiny is. This was a good series. I don't normally read books like this but I really enjoyed it. It was well written, the characters were written so that you thought of them differently and I loved the concept at the end of the book. I'd like to think that's how it works.
I loved this book from start to finish! I devoured it. I couldn't put it down.
If you love PNR reads-- this is for you!!! You will fall for the kick arse characters, determination and love that flows thru the pages. I loved the main characters so much! I found myself loving Luke and River, too!!
This was so much my cuppa tea and I can't wait to read more by this author!! Trust the Fall is fabulously written, unique and everything you will want in a PNR read!!!
5 stars from me.
*recv'd a copy via book tour company in exchange for an honest review*
I listened to this as an audiobook. I enjoyed the story. It picked right up from where the first book (Fear the Fall) left off. Great plot and a nice amount of spice. I would have preferred to have read this book rather than listened to it as an audiobook as I didn't get on with the narrator's voice (she was better at differing the voices of the characters compared with the first audiobook, but some of them were still too similar to differentiate at points).
I had no idea this was book 2 in a series. That being said… I enjoyed the characters and the world building that occurred in this book. I will definitely TBR the first in series and read.
Victoria was one kicka$$ heroine!
And, Lucifer, what can I say...he was amazing!
Can't wait to delve more into Ms. Winters stories!
Victoria is a bada** fallen angel 😇- she fell years ago and now spends her time on Earth fighting demons.😈 I flew through both books. I love the cast of characters that comes in throughout the two books - the devil, demons, angels, reapers, vampires, hell hounds and more!
😇This is a quick and enjoyable read - if you enjoy fantasy reads about angels or demons then I recommend checking it out!😈
Victoria the bada** angel is trapped in Hell, and it's everything they warned about. Deceptive. Depraved. Evil. Trust the Fall is a paranormal romance bursting with action, suspense, twists, steam and is a page-turner you won't want to miss!
This was such an amazing ending to this duet! There was so much packed into this, I couldn’t put it down! More twists, more action, lots of danger, secrets revealed and shocks when you least expected it. My first reads by this author, but she’s got me hooked!
