Not up to par with this author's other books..
Unfortunately, this novel left me feeling so disappointed. I was a big fan of the Mate Match Outcasts series by Ariana Hawkes, so I had high hopes for this new series. However, I found myself bored early on in this book and never really liking the heroine. I dislike when the heroine keeps important info from the hero when her life is repeatedly put in danger simply because of her own stubbornness, and this heroine did this repeatedly. Overall, this story was not for me, and I don't think I'll be continuing this series.

Much more serious writing than what I'm used to from Ms Hawkes and I loved it!
Human Iris Toller can't stay in college as she was hoping because of the constant romantic propositions and then stalking by her advisor. What Iris didn't know and was always warned about was that shifters were evil beings and he was one. In either case she moves back to Golden Ridge hoping to get away from her stalker. She decides to keep her mothers dream going at her flower shop where she is abruptly reminded that her stalker can get to her wherever she goes.
She is saved by Kade a Detective that saves her from sure retribution and who's bear is positive that she is his mate. But will Iris accept him once she realizes what he really is with the fear that was instilled in her at a young age? But right now that doesn't matter, because he has to rid her of the evil that means her harm.

Struggle
I really struggled to finish this book. I have loved this author but this one just didn't do it for me. I couldn't connect with either characters and kept reading because my mama didn't raise a quitter but I just don't know what rubbed me wrong about it. I love the shifter app series.

This was an exciting series opener and I enjoyed how it unfolded. Well written, it had mystery, danger, twists and a fab romance. All great fun and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Nope. Hated EVERY character in this story. Plot just didn’t make any sense to me. Felt forced instead of free flowing.

Iris is just trying to live her life, but she can't get over the feeling of being stalked. She is running her mother's flower shop after coming back from college early, due to an incident occurred on campus, when she is attacked in the alleyway and narrowly escapes her stalker. She runs out into the street, and is found by Kade, a local detective / bear shifter. A shoot out ensues, and Kade quickly realizes that Iris is in more trouble than she can handle.
Kade decides that he will protect the human, Iris, until he can hunt down the wolf shifter stalking her. But things go from bad to worse. Her stalker tries to break into her window, but Kade stops him after his inner bear warns him their mate is in trouble. It literally goes downhill from there. This madman is willing to do ANYTHING to get his hands on Iris, but Kade nor his inner bear are having any of that. If Iris doesn't want his protection? Too bad. The bear shifter is going to make sure that the wolf shifter never touches his mate, again.
Notes:
If you like stalker stories, you will love this! Iris' stalker is pyschotic! He is the 'if I can't have you, no one will' kind of antagonist.

Her dad & mom passed away. The only thing she has to remember them is her childhood house & her mom flower shop. Iris ran away from someone who just found where she is at is going to do anything he can to make her his.
Kaye is a detective & also a bear shifter. While Iris is runny away from her stalker she almost got hit by Kaye who immediately his bear knew she was his mate. But she is human & is in danger by a crazy wolf shifter ready to make her his.
I kind of like the story.. I didn’t how everything happened in a period of a wk. She loses everything & ends up living with Kaye (a stranger- even tho his bear knew she was his mate- she didn’t know this- being that she is human) vs with her brother (who is the only living family she has left. She stayed with him for some days & at 1st her brother was oppose to that BUT then all of a sudden we didn’t hear anything abt the brother til the last 2 chapter.
Again is okay short story to pass the time.

First of all, what is the cover art? He is huge and hairy with a scar down the right side of his face and she is a chubby redhead. So. Like. The lithe brunettes on the cover make no sense.
Also. None of the motivations of anything anyone did the whole book made sense and they constantly did exactly what they said they wouldn’t do. There were 10 million obstacles to their relationship and the. All of a sudden it was 75% of the way into the book so we just ignored them all.
It was dumb. But. Also. Kinda exactly what I expected.
No cheating. No breakup. Some push and pull. She is physical threatened and sexually assaulted (not by MMC). No pregnancy. Epilogue a few months in the future.

Sweet suspense and love story
This is suspense story with a shifter romance. There is a detective, named Kade, who is a bear shifter. He was patrolling one night when a beautiful young woman runs out in front of his car. She is frightened and running from something. Made tries to help her but she is reluctant of his help. That's where this story begins. The characters are likeable and have a real connection. There is some angst to the suspense plot. Seems like there will be other books in this series with the introduction of Kade's brothers at the end. Read On!

I love you in the book had a good baseline for just only one thing if you came predictable I started part of it and I didn’t like that I would recommend this book to the beginners they can spot it like I can and I chose this book because I love the features of it lake was fantasy come true it feels real like it happened before years back it puts you in the unknown as to say what if

This was a cute shifter romance filled with suspense. Kade and Iris had great chemistry and their personalities matched together very well.
The antagonist was honestly my only drawback to the story. While the actions were very on point for a crazed stalker, something about the way he was written was a little off. I think the suprise accomplice at the end was also a little out of left field, but overall I did enjoy the story.

This was an okay/good read. I was a little thrown off about how Kade kept saying Bear said this or Bear wants this instead of saying my bear. It felt like two different characters at times instead of one. There was a couple of typos unless I was understanding it wrong. Poor Iris had her life turned around because of her stalker. Glad Kade was able to figure out who was after her. Her brother was all bark and no bite 🤦🏾♀️. Hope the second book pulls me in more.

I WANTED to like this book
I really did WANT to like this book but it was just too much of a slow burn and I don't understand how iris was so scared she could barely breath or function yet refused to take time off work didn't make sense to me. It was just alot of the same stalker broke in got away I feel like a shifter would have caught him alot sooner

Kade is a bear shifter and a detective. Iris owns a flower shop but she also is running from a stalker. Kade is drawn to Iris immediately. Kade and his bear want to protect Iris then claim her but he knows he must go slow and he must stop her stalker. This story has steamy romance, danger, nonstop action and a happy ending.

Book 1 is a stunner
Can't wait for the rest of the series (no pressure Ariana) but this sets up the whole series. Loved these two and I don't know which one I want next a story about Jason or Kade's relatives. Thanks for the book and keep up the good work.
