Emma didn’t want to be tied down. Until Cordelia tied her up.

Emma has spent her adult life travelling, partying and refusing to put down roots. Whenever her money runs out, she returns to Los Angeles to work a few months until she has enough cash to leave again.

Waitressing at an exclusive party for the rich and infamous, her gaze is caught by an elegant woman with an English accent. Once she’s seen her, it’s hard to look away. She spends her shift watching the other woman drink champagne, win at poker and charm everyone around her.

Beautiful, successful and wealthy, Cordelia is used to getting what she wants, in any way she might want it. That usually means with her in complete control. When the free-spirited Emma catches her attention, there is no exception.

Emma can’t stay away from Cordelia, even when she discovers the other woman’s darker preferences in the bedroom. If anything, it fuels the fire of her attraction.

Their physical relationship burns brightly. But with pressure on Cordelia to return to England and Emma’s reluctance to commit to anything, a future between them seems impossible.

Is there a chance for them to find lasting love?

I write the books I want to read. I hope you like them too. I live in a small, coastal community in Australia. Whenever I can, I go travelling. If I'm not writing something it's probably because I'm reading.

Emma and Cordelia, two women instantly attracted to each other but separated by wealth. The former works just enough to be able to satisfy her wanderlust ways- formed after she took on the role of parent to her young brothers while she was but a teenager. Now her brothers are adults with established careers and she travels the roads in a converted van or jaunts off to explore far flung lands. Cordelia is a wealthy developer from England and a cut throat poker player.
There's mild BDSM and a soft, fast romance with heat but protective walls must be lowered before a HEA.
A quick, hot read for a wintery day.

This book was not for me.
Pro : the writing is actually good.
Con : i did'nt find the MC likable at all. I didn't feel the relationship built or any chemistry. I feels like an unhealthy relationship to me. I just didnt get it.

A HOT novella about opposites falling in love. Emma is independent, having raised her 2 younger brothers she picks up and travels now, only coming home to work for money for her next adventure.
While working at an exclusive card game she meets Cordelia, an extremely rich developer. They both feel a pull towards each other. This is a quick, HOT read! 5 stars!

The softer side of BDSM- reads more like a top and bottom sorting through their roles , and later a bottom that likes to get toppy, but a quick, fun read overall. I only gave the story 4 stars bc the L-word makes such a fast appearance it was disorienting. This is fiction, but holy bunny slippers this relationship was warp speed ahead, petal to the metal... wham, bam, thank you ma'am kind of fast.

This is a lovely novella about Emma and Cordelia who come from completely different worlds. One is tethered to her job and rich, the other is a wandering free spirit with very little money.
Does money buy love or does it take something that can’t be bought? Read and find out.

The only critique is that this book is too short !
I loved the character and the love story : genuine, healthy, steamy but cute at the same time.
First time I loved the old cliché in the romcom film at the end of the book, it was more realistic and also adorable.
100% recommand to my sapphic gals

Potential, but not much else

The quality of the writing is pretty good. The initial character development is too, for the hook, however there isn't much arc. The characters don't change much from beginning to end. The kink aspect is suuuper tame and while it sort of supports the theme to the story, it's nearly entirely glossed over. This is one of those instances where more involved sex/kink scenes could have been used to deepen the characters and even move the plot along. The side characters were pretty unnecessary to the plot, though served their purpose of displaying the main character as a caretaker type, which was important, but they could have done more. Cordelia's character felt underdeveloped as the story went on, we didn't learn much about her or what motivates her. She doesn't go through any sort of change or overcome anything.
Not much really happens in this book. It's sweet, and a quick easy read, but it's kinda boring.
I found the main character quite interesting however, she was a great character, with a ton of potential. I would have liked to see literally anything happen to her besides, "she met someone, they hit it off, she has a moment of indecision, then went for it anyway, HEA". Because that's literally the entire plot. She has this intense wanderlust because she's determined to put herself first yet feels lost and uncertain about who she is. She can't figure out her place in the world because that might result in her getting stuck in a dependent situation again, ie she's got major trust issues. Then she meets a woman who she doesn't have to take much emotional risk for, who travels for work, which is easy because it doesn't really change her life except she has more financial security. She has Zero reason to confront her demons, and so, essentially, she doesn't.
There's no inner conflict or external conflict, or challenges/threats, which might have worked if this was some sort of streamy "plot? what plot?" erotica but it wasn't so...what was the point?

3 stars. I liked the writing but I feel like I didn't know these characters at all. The romance was okay, everything happens fast and nothing is developed but I didn't hate this or anything. Emma and Cordelia were fine leads and I liked the smut. I'd read something else by this author.
