Tristan #3

Dragon's Blood

Rate this book
The Thrilling Conclusion to the Tristan Trilogy

Tristan's got it made. He fights alongside his beloved, he has two men who dote on him faithfully, and the stars have promised him he's to do great things for his Elven people. What more could a guy want?

Unfortunately, there's that little, tiny detail about the Emperor of the Underworld knocking at their door, and a growing army of witch wyrms to deal with. Plus, Tristan's already dramatic love life explodes to epic proportions when Bayaden shows up in an unexpected way. The dragon in Tristan's blood stirs and he's off on another wild adventure. This time the stakes are real—if he doesn't get it together, the whole Elven realm could pay for his folly.

A triple play MM story with dragons and swords and elves. And basically, the usual with Tristan getting himself in over his head and having to fight his way out of it. It’s got plenty of the caretaking dynamic Mock (S. Legend) is known for.

Some of you know her as Mock, others as S. Legend, or Miss S. She welcomes all names but will often go by Mock, a name given to her by her readers.
Mock is an ambitious creative, weaving the most precious aspects of her soul into stories. She is an architect, building fascinating worlds, designed from inquiry, rooted in worldly wonderings. It’s an intuitive process where she is the scribe, the translator, the conduit.
It helped that storytelling was the language spoken at home. One simply didn’t say, “We have an ant infestation,” in Mock’s family it was, “I was on my way to the living room, when a peculiar ant crossed my path. I looked to my right, a suspicious line of them marched toward the pantry. In that moment I knew; my kitchen was under siege.” The natural flow of conversation always took this form.
And so.
When Mock wrote her first novel, she didn’t plan it chapter by chapter, there was no outline, no “plotting” to speak of. But she didn’t “pants” it either, she didn’t make it up as she went along. She knew how the story felt, where it curved in places and hollowed in others; she knew the destination it rushed toward. Instead of orchestrating, she let the world inspire her, and held space for the words to come, trusting the characters knew what they were doing. All she had to do was tell a story, as she always had done; like breathing.
This is her peace, her healing and solace: Gifts better shared.
Mock’s works are the comfort you seek when you need to come home. Her unique writing style will take you, wayfaring reader, to unexpected destinations.
She always says, “I’m not in the business of making up stories, I couldn’t if I tired. I’m lucky enough to get picked to share someone else’s story when I ask a question to the universe. Someone answers; I write it down.”

More please

It's reassuring to know that this isn't the end for Tristan and his ever growing family. There's still plenty to do and adventures to have.
This ends the running thread of the prophecies and Tristan's dragon blood in ways I didn't see coming.
Plenty of steamy times and spankings with my favourite getting plenty of page time.

I won't lie. I got attached to these characters so much that I'm sad to see this trilogy coming to an end.

Tristan was definitely my favourite character and right here I'll remind you real quick that Tristan is or actually WAS a trainee human warlord and a prince that found himself married to an elven prince. This was an arranged marriage by his family and he wasn't happy about it but somehow he and Corrik made things work. And by making things work I probably mean Corrik spanking the living shit out of him and Tristan totally submitting to him. Sounds intense? Wait until you meet Alrick. Corrik's brother. This mother fucker is a sadist and Tristan's submission turned to something else with him 🥵

Yes Tristan has more than one mates. Do I have a favourite among them? I sure do. And even I surprised myself because I didn't expect it to be him. In book 1 I was pining after Corrik, in book 2 I was pining after Bayaden and now look at me.. I'm loving my boy River 😩. And he's not exactly a mate.. he's Tristan's omega. These two.. my fucking God. I can't believe how we got so little of their intimacy because they were both so shy/afraid to go there. This whole book I was like “FUCK ALREADY” with the two of them.

Let's go back to Tristan. He is SUCH a brat. I mean yes sometimes his snarky attitude is actually to the point but many times he is just looking for trouble just to have someone punish him. Did this help with his bratty attitude? No. You can't spank the brat out of him but it's fun to try. 👋

His whole personality is literally mood. Like.. in book 2 Corrik is kinda lost and considered dead. Tristan is now betrothed to Alrick and warned against going anywhere without permission. What does this man do? Escapes and runs to find him.

In this book.. when Bayaden comes to their kingdom (he is an “enemy”) both Alrick and Corrik warn Tristan to not run away with him. What does this man do?

*Proceeds to transform into a dragon and flies away alone*

Because he's so tired with everyone's bullshit.

Man. I can go on and on. I'm clearly obsessed with this story but I think whatever I say can't do it justice. I can't praise this thing enough 😩🔥

Goodness gracious, my heart is so sad and so happy at the same time ❤️
I pretty much read this for 48 hours straight. Tristan’s never ending antics kept me on my toes, and this was a beautiful conclusion for the dragon/elf/brat that we’ve all come to love!
I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say this:
🐉Tristan is back in full force. He’s Tristan to the 10th degree here. He’s got the sass and the heart that we’ve all fallen in love with, and he’s more fierce and strong-willed than ever.
🐉Corrik. I have such a special place in my heart for Corrik. He’s bossy, sarcastic, self-centered, and way too worried about his nails. Yes, Cor, I relate. He’s still larger than life and the absolute comic relief everyone needs.
🐉Alrik actually grows a lot in this book. We see him really come into his feelings for Tris, and his respect and love for his brother. We see a softer, sweeter Alrik here (though he’s still a badass crown prince, don’t worry!)
🐉The newbies: I won’t give any of them away but the characters we meet here are amazing and enhance Tris’s life so much. You truly feel like his circle is complete.
(Mock, if you want to do some other books, I’m happy to give my votes on who 🤣)
Mock, I’m honored that I’ve gotten to be on Tris’s journey with him, from a pouting Markaytian on his way to the alter, to the strong, brave and loving dragon heart he became. The story of Tris and his men will live in my heart forever. Thank you for sharing your words 💗

Wow. Talk about a character arc.
Literally went from aggressively hating Corrik to low key considering starting up a gd fan club. The man, arrogant, cocky, unwaveringly optimistic & ‘shined on by the gods’ is just AMAZING.

Now all the characters had wild arcs in this series, but his stands out amount the rest because truly, on one page I wanted to reach into my kindle and punch him, only to fall madly in love with him on the next.
What is this witchcraft?
Just further proof that authors have too much power over us. I hope it stays that way forever 😈🤌🏽

I want to thank everyone who has been loving on this book.

I love this book so much. I don't re-read many of my books, but this is one I come back to. Like, I wouldn't change a thing about it. It's everything I hoped I'd get from this book.

Tristan and his men experience enormous growth ... with still room to grow, it's action-packed and we get the conclusion to all the main issues in this trilogy while getting introduced to NEW things that will have cropped up in this adventure ;)

That's right ... in case you missed my Author's Note at the beginning of this book (which happens sometimes because of the way Kindle starts readers on chapter one of the book vs. the actual beginning of the book) there is a whole new series of TRISTAN coming. Stay tuned for The Dragon Warlord series!

I loved this book even more than the first two. There was so much more going on besides the sex and Tristan's exploration of his brat and poly self, etc, the equal focus on story telling and spice felt more up my lane.

The fear of possibly losing Tristan really changed Alrik's being, there wasn't really enough time to have Tristan and Baya interact like the good old days (plus they have changed too) and Corrik seemed a lot less Alpha and assholy (haha) to me then he used to be. We saw him become more endearing in book 2, but I felt he drastically lost his Alphaness in book III when he started to take responsibility for his powers of prophecy. And I think the fact that Tristan really stepped into his true calling of being a Dragon Warlord and becoming more alpha in that sense catapulted the changes in his three man, or at least made them more visible.

What I am trying to say is, I understood the changes happening to the characters. It was all organic and bound to happen. I was speeding through the pages and the arrival of River was a welcome distraction too from missing his alpha men♡ But now that I closed the book, I am just thinking. There was a big chunk in the book where I really missed how Alrik, Corrik and Baya used to be.

Or maybe it's not that they changed. But Tristan called it out in them. And they were seperated for so long, and I didn't know who they were without T. Interesting.

Let me say it again. I LOVED THE BOOK. I mean, Corrik and Baya becoming a thing?! Hella sexy! Meeting the OG Tristan?! SO cool!! I hope we get some scenes with him and his husbands 0:) I am so glad we will get to have more Tristan!!!!

And that ending, goodness that was sweet. I always hate endings. They always leave me empty, broken, wanting more, I don't know. But this was perfect!!

I really hope we get the deleted scenes. All of them. I am greedy like that ^^

So here’s the thing. I like fantasy series in theory. But in reality every fantasy series I have tried to read I can not for the life of me REMEMBER anything about book to book.

This. Is magically. Not that type of series. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s that it’s grounded so well in the real world with just enough references to things like Goodwill stores and soap operas that I feel like the setting is easy to settle into. But I picked up this book and instantly was pulled back into the world vividly remembering every character every plot twist every scene from the books before. Witch Wyrms, Elf now. Rock and roll let’s see what’s next.

And let me tell you this story absolutely delivers.

This book has everything.
Magic sword fights, underworldly demon things, overprotective giant cats, secret magic, mashed potatoes, polyamory, thinly veiled jokes about the first book in the series, houseplants, awesome clothing, even more found family and real family, and of course the spankings.

I think what I like most about this authors style besides the obvious dynamics, is that they torture all of their characters, yes, but the characters always find a way TOGETHER to overcome and be ok. I’m so tired of killing characters just for the sake of cheap drama. I want all stories to be like this. Struggles together to triumph as a family. Give me all of this.

And it’s so packed full of plot and action it wasn’t just hard to put down I physically couldn’t. Because dammit as soon as one ended another began. And Corrik is once again. Spot on. Everyone, everyTHING falls in love with Tristan.

And that love grips you to the very last page.

Received ARC for review.

I have so much to say and I can’t say anything as can’t give spoilers. I need to talk about this book. I need to talk about bratty Tristan. OMG I freakin loved this book, actually, I adored this trilogy of Tristan. I honestly don’t know where to start!!!

First off, I can’t talk about this book without including its previous 2 books, this trilogy defines how you were told to write stories at school, to have a beginning, middle and end, and that’s what these 3 books are. The evolution of not just Tristan, but his devilish men, is brilliant. The change in dynamics and story from the first to this fantastic third book is mind blowing.

We get to see Tristan as his unashamedly, magic cock charming bratty self and I LOVE it. I was in actual ‘spanking’ heaven reading this. I love the world, I love the detailed and complex storyline, I love the steam, the submissiveness, the attitude, the alphas, the utter love and devotion, the list just goes on. And that epilogue was the cherry on the cake, perfect for them all and I am just so satisfied and happy with this ending, I feel calm, although I will always crave more of Tristan, he is my guilty drug of choice for downright sluttiness.

ARC review

I swear I say this in every review I leave for an S Legend book, but you're immediately yanked into the story and going full on until the book ends.
The emotions! I couldn't get enough of the different kinds of love in this world. The ways the men showed their love is a lesson to us all. These men accept one another, give them what they need and support them 100%.
I'm a Tristan girl all the way and I can't get enough of people wanting him. I'd be right there too! He is worth all the adoration.

Some spoilers! (And one moment of language.)

My favorite parts:
There are some sweet endearments and nicknames in this book. My absolute favorite is LaLa.
We really get to see the Dragon blood in action and it's really awe-inspiring. So much fun to read.
Baya is back!!!! Enough said.
There are some really sweet moments with kids in this book. They're all adorable and you just want to snuggle them all. I have no favorites. (*cough*Leeta*cough*)
I want my very own Hymta, but my bed is too small. 😆
Most memorable line: "I'm stressed to the fucking tits." -Cor

Do not miss this book! Read the entire series of Tristan's adventures. This one is by far my favorite.

S. Legend, you did it again!

Here’s the thing about this book specifically of the trilogy. You will become Tristan. Hear me out. Tristan is just chillin as each story begins. Things are a certain way and maybe he didn’t like how he got there but he’s there and he’s nothing if not adaptable, even if he’s goes kicking and screaming.

But the thing is, as soon as he’s comfortable, poor Tristan, like you, is about to get hit with another huge change. And you’re mad about it because you just got used to the last thing that made you mad. So, like Tristan, you stomp your feet and you just KNOW you’ll hate this new change (lover). But then you don’t.

And that’s why you are Tristan.

I literally disliked each new protagonist and was mad. Then I slowly (like Tristan) got to know them and fell in love with each of them. Even as Tristan changes too. Trust the process. It’s all going to be okay.

If you’ve gotten this far, you know this is a domestic discipline story. Note that this is in a fantasy world where it’s necessary to their essence to have DD in their lives. It all works so perfectly (with lots of stumbling and arguing along the way). I also love the way the relationships developed among the tops.

Great stuff. Love Miss Mock and the way she creates these amazing relationships.

This series has come such a long way. Seriously awesome of the author to finish this series after 14 years of writing the first book instead of just ditching it!! The growth in her writing is so evident. The plot was so solid, previous plot holes were covered, the reader was given enough information to work off of, and overall it stayed creative and went in directions you wouldn't expect. I respect the commitment of sticking to the original overarching plotline.

Despite this ending up as a harem essentially, the relationships and characters remained very distinct. Usually I low key despise new additions to a harem past the 3rd person, since the characterization usually sucks, but this was not the case. There is also normally trouble with everyone's personalities melding into the same thing in later relationship stages, but I didn't see that here either.

The author's vision was so clear. If there was a scene that the author didn't feel like writing / felt it would slow down the story, it was just a fade to black and jump to the next moment, which seriously cracked me up. What a big set of balls!!! It worked though, the pacing was good and nothing got boring. It sounds like the scenes that were skipped will be pulled and published separately.

Last year while I was looking for something new to read, I stumbled upon an MM romance about a human who is forced to marry an elf. It sounded interesting, so I gave it a chance and I'm so glad I did.

I fell in love with the world of Tristan and the writing of S.Legend. I have loved watching these characters grow and develop into something amazing.

Watching Tristan grow into the Warlord he was born to be. Seeing a more funny and smartass side of Corrik. Learning that Alrik isn't the hardass he'd like you to believe he is. Having Bayaden pop back up and fit right in with Corrik and Alrik (even if they didn't like it at first.)

There were a few chapters that almost gave me a heart attack and one chapter that made me laugh. The fight scenes intense and very detailed and there was spankings of all kinds.

I hope we get to see more of the world of Tristan. I'm not ready to let these characters go.

Being the third in its series, this book starts off already with immense build-up. I feel like this one book could be made into an entire TV series with how much happens.
Most erotic books I've read tend to neglect the plot, so they are nice but not exactly stories. That's not the case with this book. Lore, plot, and character development are expertly weaved between every page and scene right alongside the sex, spanking, and bratting.
Though Tristan's men seem always at odds, this book/Tristan's need for trouble unites them together (much to Tristan's delight and dismay).
Tristan III does an amazing job at bringing the story full circle. All the small, world-building details from the first two books which seemed vague or insignificant, are perfectly explained and incorporated here. It's an excellent conclusion to an incredible series -which isn't truly over- and I cannot recommend it enough.

I didn’t realize how much I missed Tristan until he was back again in all his bratty glory! I adore his snarkiness (is that a word? Because it should be) and snide remarks. I love how he infuriates his husbands but it’s just one of the many reasons they love him.
Everyone loves Tristan. You just can’t help it. There were many times I wanted to strangle him but I also wanted to fight by his side.
I was so excited for the character development in this third book. To see the changes in everyone as they experience trauma, love, grief and life itself and find their way back to one another. Every character has a story that I want to know more about. And in classic S Legend style, she has added more characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.
You can read this for the action and adventure but you will stay for the found family.

There was a lot to this book. Like, probably too much. Tristan's emotions were all over the place for a lot of the first half. And then he got his wish, and his third love came back into his life. And then...dragons? And the underworld? And alphas
and omegas? And vampires? And green babies? And more dragons? So. Much. Going. On. And not enough DD compared to the other books.

I liked it, but also it made my brain hurt because so much was going on, but not enough felt like it got resolved. Like, something would happen and then something else would happen, and I'd be like...but don't we get more about what happened before? Mock tried to stuff too much into this book, and it took away from the overall immersion into the story for me. I think I'd read more if she does continue writing for this series, but it's not my favorite of her series.

I didn't think it was possible to love Tristan, and subsequently, Miss Mock anymore than I already do. But this book proved that I was completely wrong and that I can only love them more with each passing day.
It's no secret that I love Tristan and have done since the very first time I had the pleasure of meeting him. And since that day he has lived in my mind completely rent-free. He is, and will forever be, my go-to if I ever need a pick-me-up, my escape to another world whenever I need it and my first elf love. (I had never read an 'elf' story before but now I am hooked!)
I was gifted an ARC of Tristan III and devoured it as quickly as I could. I went into it knowing it was the last one, knowing that it was coming to an end and knowing that things were about to go down. I needed to both read what was coming next, but I never wanted it to end. It was rather the dilemma.
This book was so bittersweet. I loved every second of it, and I know I say that for every Mock book but I really, REALLY mean it.
As I was reading, it was very clear to pick up on the amount of love that's gone into this. The world-building and the character development were just *chef's kiss*.
Every time I picked up this book to devour another chapter or five, I fell headfirst into Tristan's world and lived alongside these characters until I had to return to the real world again; and I loved every single second of it.
Then I got to the end and damn - there's going to be more?! "With Tris and the (ever-growing) gang". I've never been happier!!
Mock, thank you for bringing me on this journey with you and Tristan. It's meant more to me than the world!! I can't wait for our next adventure!!

Perfect

There was so much in this book, and Tristan grew so incredibly. I loved that we found out exactly what it means for Tristan to have dragon blood, and I wonder what will change for the denizens of the Towers now that they have Botha lord and a warlord. Will Tristan’s father ever choose to attempt traveling to the Towers? And how would that work since he is most definitely not submissive? Why doesn’t he have they same characteristics that shape both Tristan and his ancestor?

I’m glad that, while this trilogy is now over, it isn’t the end of tales from this world. I am excited to see where this goes, and what will happen now that so many other things have been resolved.

What a wild ride! 🥵🔥I was thrilled to get my hands on this ARC—devoured the book in less than 24 hours.

Oh Tristan, how I love thee. The third book in the Tristan Trilogy, by S. Legend, kept me on my toes. It was a good balance of steam, banter, spankings, and adventure. Sometimes when I read books with polyamorous relationships, I feel the relationships are off-balanced, but the author does a great job connecting the different characters in a way that is seamless. Overall, I highly recommend this book, as well as the entire series. Sad to see the series end, but so happy for Tristan’s HEA.

Release date is 05/24/22 🎉🎉

I was unprepared for this book and I didn’t think that was possible! But S. Legend truly crafts a unique story. The emotions… I’m not even sure I can put into words how much this book affected me. Yes, there is significant high heat to it. But its emotional depth really leads the charge here.

I adore the characters. They are so realistic and the raw emotion that pours off the pages…Wow. I love the twists and turns and the way the author pushes the envelope.

The ending is perfect although this is not a series that will leave my mind any time soon. It’s a 5 star across the board for me and I desperately hope for more.

5 stars for a masterful, twisted, and emotional story!

I absolutely loved this and I can't believe this incredible ride is mostly over.
The world building was amazing of course and the connection between all these men was beautiful and the new additions were perfect.
The action and drama had me on the edge of my seat throughout the story but it was the bond (found family) between everyone and the amazing growth they all did (individually and together) that really hit me emotionally.
I am in awe at Mock's writing ability, absolutely in love with this series and it will definitely be a treasured reread.

Tristan really is the brat of all brats. He finally has all his men in one place and what happens? He throws an epic tantrum and flies off (yes, flies - you will have to read the book if you can’t guess how) leaving them behind.
Of course this is Tristan and it’s kind of out of the frying pan and into the fire.
There is a lot happening in this book which means we get a lot more ‘telling’ than ‘showing’ and we see more from Corrik’s perspective.
This book wraps up the trilogy perfectly for now but there is still lots of potential for more to come.

I devoured all three books within 48hrs because it was simply that freaking good.

I adored Tris and the bond he had with each of his men.

The babies were absolutely adorable. Baya’a little one stole my heart though.

Absolutely loved all three books and I highly recommend it. The sub/dom aspect runs through every book, with loads of discipline spanking, caning, paddling and so much more.

This last book was intense as everything came together.

Thrilling end to fantasy series

S. Legend has done an amazing job developing this series into a thrilling fantasy epic. The changes that Tristan goes through during his adventures from the first book to this one are marvelous. This series has made me laugh and cry and I think there is a little part of my heart that Tristan will live in forever more.

Amazing!

River was a perfect addition, and the boys??! I loved this conclusion even though I wished it was longer and more fleshed out. I would love additional stories about the family, as well as a meeting between the dad and the dragon lord.

Would I recommend? Absolutely!
