At long last, Sei knows how to control the power of the Saint that resides within her...which means it's time to wield it. She must cleanse the forest of Klausner's Domain, or her new friends will never again know peace and prosperity. But Sei's first foray into the forest depths nearly ends in disaster. While she and the knights await reinforcements from the capital, Sei has to wonder: what if the Saint's magic isn't enough? What must she be ready to sacrifice to save the people of Klausner?
Hah, so I found myself thinking, "Why doesn't she 'area heal' the forest?" and then two chapters later, guess what she does?
I'm still enjoying this series. It's very low-conflict, low-tension, and that's so much what I need right now when the world itself is high-conflict, high-tension. The biggest problems seem to be things like, "People benefit too much from the help I give them" and "Why does everyone like me?" Very Mary-Sue, and I'm good with that.
I have one more volume to go before I run out of them and have to wait for more to be published. (That's a complaint, but I'm not deducting a star or anything for that, hah.) Onward!
I’m so disappointed with this series. The author keeps saying in her notes at the end of each volume that this was supposed to be a romance but that she kept forgetting to grow Sei and Albert’s relationship. Will she ever remember?? At this point I doubt it! There were several opportunities for sweet moments between them - when Albert came to pick Sei up for the banquet he complimented her and that was it. She didn’t have to compliment him back out loud but could she at least have sweet internal thoughts about him?? Or when she cooked something new couldn’t she be more excited about him trying her food than everyone else? Even if she has a “low level in love” as the author said there should be a difference in how she feels about him vs all the other males around. It’s volume 4!
This is such a one sided crush and I’m pretty much over it. Also did the author really have to have Sei use the word “cringe” in reference to her having to think of Albert to use her saint power? There were hardly any meaningful conversations between any of the characters… this was a disappointing volume all around. For the time being I’m done with this series. If I ever pick up volume 5 it’s only for Albert!

While we might only be on volume 4 of the light novel version, we're about on target with where volume 8 of the manga leaves us. In reality the comparison should probably be the other way around with the light novel coming first, then the manga, but up until now the manga has been the first frame of reference due to reading order. There isn't as much focus on Aira this time around, but we get more details on Sei and her power and thought process as they battle the slimes and she heals the forest. As an added bonus, there are a series of short stories at the end of this volume that are absolutely hilarious. Sei really does have some pretty unique relationships with her coworkers and new friends in this world. Add that to the unique effects of her magic, and you have a mix for some great entertainment and new discoveries.

I watched the anime series before reading this light novel and I must say that I loved the scene during the purification of the miasma in Klausner's domain and the restoration of the forest in the anime version. That two scenes here in light novel fell flat for me. Anime Sei portrayed a more impactful and emotional reason in restoring the forest, LN Sei didn't give that feeling.
I loved the short story collection at the end. It gives us a glimpse on how she interacts with other people on a normal day.

I think I’ll miss everyone from Klausner’s domain - hopefully we see more of them in the future!
I’m super excited about diving into completely new territory starting from the next volume!!! Exciting times <3
I just love this series a lot, honestly :)
I also really appreciate the volume of content available - 1 season of anime (2nd one in the works!), 7 mainline manga books, 2 side story manga books, 8 light novels… and much more to come!
Sei has learnt how to call upon her power, and now she gets to experiment with it on growing herbs. In the midst of this, there is still the miasma of the swamp to deal with, with new beasts to deal with. Throughout this, Yuri and Aira along with some mages suddenly appear!
An enjoyable volume and I look forward to reading the next one.
Not the best in this series but it was a satisfying continuation of the previous novel. I enjoyed the progress in the relationships, even if they were tiny. This is my fluff series that I never get tired of and I'm sad I'll be caught up soon with the latest published novel. The little extra stories at the end were absolutely adorable.
Aww, just what I needed: a dollop of sweetness on a cold, cold day.
It was fantastic to see Sei slowly grow into her responsibilities as the Saint, and end up vanquishing her second miasmic swamp. So too, were the scenes between Sei and Albert. While Sei remained oblivious to his overtures (and even writing them off as being obligatory), good on Albert for pushing things a little bit more!
Sei is still traveling in Klausner's Domain and she has discovered how to really use the Saints Power. She is enjoying her time and learning of more herbs and plants. Its decided that she and the army will enter the local forests to go after the swamps. All this time she is getting closer to the people and she fears not being able to do what she must. I like this series and its characters.
The volume focused on progression of the plot, the story itself with Sei being the saint which is great. I enjoyed seeing the holy powers come to life. It lacked romance, but built in character which was great to me.

I love how Sei keeps being herself and continues to be helpful. I think both her and Aira have been summoned together because they both have saints qualities. I can’t wait to see what both of them produce in the next volume.
I loved this volume. Sei is figuring out her power and navigating how she would use her powers. I am interested to see if the next volume will go into the consequences of her actions.
Sei has learned how to call upon her power, now she gets to experiment with it on growing herb. Of course, there is still the miasma swamp within the nearby forest and it is more problematic then the one she dealt with previously. An entertaining, albeit relatively short, read: a mix of romance, magic development and action. I like it, although the awkward stumbling teenage romance (as far as Sei is concerned) might not be for everybody. The world and story are not particularly original, but that should not come as a surprise by this volume. It is different enough for me to remain entertaining. So, all in all, a good read and addition to the series.
