Kamen Rider continues, and the story goes in some weird places. It's strange how so many villains would rather take themselves out than fall multiple times. We get more commentary on the environment and pollution, the meaning of justice, and we're introduced to some other experiments just like Takeshi. Where Kamen Rider fails, and what it takes to overcome this failure - compared to the villains' self-destruct reaction to failure - becomes a significant plot point as we start to explore other characters and locations.
This was a good volume, but after we get to know Hayato, it gets a little weird. I mean, Hongou was a nice character. Why just changing him for another? And how they keep him in the story is really awful. Gonna find out why they did this back there, must be some publisher's decision.
Another amazing adaptation of the Tokusatsu series. This volume has the 12 Kamen Riders plot as the main thing, and also introduces Hayato Ichimonji, Kamen Rider #2, with some twists.
I think the word one would use is "bonkers" and honestly, that's what I signed up for. Definitely 4.5* because this isn't deep but who would deny it's fun?
