The princess and a dead man.

They say money makes the world go round.
They’d be wrong.
Sure, power can be bought, but you can gain a hell of a lot more with knowledge. With knowledge comes fear.
I’ve seen it.
I’ve caused it.
I’ve even been the brunt of it.
But when a stowaway princess barrels into my life like a runaway train, I throw patience out the window—the same one I jump out of, taking her with me.
Now I’ve got more problems than any contract killer deserves.
That includes Aliyah Zahir—an internationally coveted socialite, a true royal, and a social media sensation. Returning to the lion’s den, she ends up in harm’s way—all for a mirage.
She’s chasing a ghost.
But instead, she finds a dead man.
I’m done being patient. It’s my turn to administer fear for a change, and no one is better equipped to fix Liyah’s problems than me.
And I’m never giving her back.

“This might love me shit will be no more. I’ll do everything I can to make you love me, Princess.”

You think you wanted to be a princess and live the life of a royal family member UNTIL your power hungry uncle sold you off to an old, sagging, harem collecting pedophile for political gains 💀 you meet self acclaimed “dead man walking,” badass assassin Ozzy. Cause then, you’d wanna be HIS instead. 🥰 What a way to end this series with a BANG! Well done Ms. Brynne. 👏 You guys need to start reading her books or at least add them to your TBR!

If you told me two days ago I’d be racing through the country roads of Spain on a dilapidated motorcycle with an actual fucking princess glued to my back, I would’ve laughed in your face.

💏 Runaway princess ♡ Hitman
👑
🔞 Age gap (H 32, h 22)
💍 Fake dating
🏠 Forced proximity
👫 Found family

Ozzy (H) is on his way to complete a mission when the cabin he’s been enlisted to stay in aboard the train to Spain is secretly compromised *usurped* by a mysterious lady named Liyah (h), whom he later learns is actually the Princess of Morocco—currently on a mission of her own while in hiding from her controlling uncle.

The beginning of this book was already so full of adrenaline. Ozzy & Liyah were stuck with each other and had to be constantly on the move to outrun their pursuers. From jumping off a train, to travelling into the woods on foot, and racing off on a decrepit bike, they were never safe. And I felt the trepidation right along with them while also feeling thrilled by all the actions and danger.

“You know how to light a fire under a dead man. I’m going to give you everything, Liyah. Fuck anyone and anything who gets in my way. I’ll take them out myself. Kings and traitors had better watch their backs—I’m coming for them. And once we find your mom, we can live a normal life.”

I loved how the author set the scene for Ozzy & Liyah to meet each other for the first time. It just felt so... destinal or fated, like what are the odds that you’d stumble into the cabin of your future soulmate?? Unlikely. Unless it’s fate, right? Considering the circumstances, it might seem like it wasn’t under the perfect moment and at the right time that they were put in each other’s path, but it still was.

The romance that bloomed between Ozzy & Liyah was simply soul sighing-ly marvelous. Their chemistry and tension were delicious. I love how Brynne Asher’s heroes are always such (dark) knights. The way Ozzy swooped in to protect, take care, and help Liyah sort out her situation; the way he was patient and affectionate, how they fell and were always straight with each other... yeah, I’m speechless.

“Not sure what you dreamed of when you thought about the rest of your life, but I’m sure it wasn’t explosions, running from your king, or wearing the ring of a dead man. In my wildest dreams—those dreams I never allowed myself to contemplate—I sure as hell didn’t think I could have anyone like you.”

Don’t get even get me started on the steamy scenes! That thing in the shower? Oh, what about the one where they were in a church and inside a confenssional? Yeah, okay. 😯💨 Back in Ozzy’s home base, Liyah were introduced to Ozzy’s colleagues and their wives (whose stories were told in previous books). I loved the relationship she developed with them and the “found family” she got from it.

From Spain, Libya, Paris, to US - Virginia, this book was ✨eventful✨. The first half of it was spent abroad, and while it was action packed and intense, the second half in America was more family/friends oriented? And angsty & emotional. Though there were some actions again towards the end. Throughout all of it, there were always sweet, tender, romantic, sexy moments between Ozzy & Liyah.

“I think I loved you when you fell asleep on me the first time in the plane. The moment you accepted me for who I am and what I do. Hell, probably before that. Falling in love with you has been the easiest thing I’ve ever done, no matter what’s been swirling around us in the process.”

Gah this book just had everything! It felt nostalgic to come back into this world with these characters; and the fact that the story itself was so good beyond my imaginings was truly gratifying. On the other hand, it was bittersweet knowing that this was the last book in the series. But I’m also excited since there will be a spin-off series coming, and the first book is going to be Levi’s, Asa’s (H of Gifts ) son. Yes, yes, yess gimme! 😍

My review of:
#1 Vines — 3.75 stars
#2 Paths — 4 stars
#3 Gifts — 5 stars
#3.5 Until the Tequila — 3 stars
#4 Veils — 4.5 stars
#5 Scars — 3.5 stars

I'm kind of in awe that each book manages to go beyond my expectations for this series. You would think that with so many in the series, the books would start to feel like a repeat. It's defiantly not just a repeat. Ozzy and Liyah's story was unexpected in the best of ways.

The title of this book is what you get. I felt like this couple touched my soul. I got a great action story, a touch of familiar with repeat previous character appearances, a beautiful love story that fought all the odds, and more than one scene that made my soul sing with an emotion only a true author can pull from her readers.

Ozzy was a fantastic hero. His story was tough and his love was huge. I wanted him to have everything he desired. Liyah is very young but such a strong and brave woman. She would go to many lengths for those she truly loves. To see her love grow to include Ozzy made me sigh with happiness.

The beginning kept me captivated but it was the ending that truly moved me and made this couples story go to the next level. This is the kind of Romantic Suspense that has it all.

I’ve been dying to get Ozzy’s story and holy heck!!! What a freaking awesome one it was!!! He is everything I was hoping for and Liyah was absolutely perfect for him!! This is filled with action and drama that had me turning pages as quickly as possible to find out what was going to happen next. With a completely unpredictable story, characters that consumed my heart, and a romance that had me swoony and starry eyed, Souls was everything and more that I had hoped for.

Great book. Love Ozzy and how sweet he can be. I also love seeing all the side characters again. The only thing I wish could have been different is the heroine's experience with men. She's pretty much completely inexperienced and yet she's a model/socialite. A little unrealistic imo, and I actually wanted her to act maybe a bit more like one such as maybe a little selfish or experienced or confident or something Idk. Other than that though, still love them.

5 stars. Loved it. One of the best of the entire series.

The last book of this series featured Ozzy and Liyah. He’s a tech-savvy assassin and she’s a princess. Their lives become intertwined when she breaks into his train car, and he decides to help her with finding her missing mother. There’s a lot going on in this story, but all of it was immensely enjoyable to me. I especially loved the slow-burn element to their relationship. Liyah was a virgin and their build up to their sexual relationship was smoldering hot! 🥵🔥 I usually really dislike virgins, but it worked in this book because it added an extra level of sexual tension to this story.

There’s also a really great epilogue and HEA. Plus a bonus chapter and an extra super-short story that were both great.

I’m so SO sad that this series is over - I could read about these couples happily for many more books! I’m happy there’s a spin-off series coming, but tbh, I’m not all that excited to read about Asa’s son. Ofc, I have full faith that Brynn Asher will pull it off and make the book great.

I really love this author because while her books are definitely romantic suspense, she spends a lot of time on the romance, and doesn’t just write suspense with a smidge of romance thrown in. I appreciate that she does a great job of developing both parts of the story.

Safe; virgin heroine, hero has experience but there’s not much info given besides that he hasn’t had any kind of relationship in years. No om/ow drama, no scenes with om/ow, no cheating.

Hello Ozzy. Where have you been all my life? Seriously though, I can’t even begin the describe the depths of my LOVE for Ozzy. I know, I know. I’ve said the exact same thing about Crew, Grady, Asa, Noah, and Cole. And don’t get me wrong here, I love them all. But there is just something about Ozzy that makes him a little different. Maybe it’s because although you’ve met him in the other Killer’s books, he was still a bit of a mystery. Well….mystery solved. He is every bit as alpha, every bit as protective, and every bit all in for his woman.

“All we have is what’s in our souls. When you strip yourself bare, there’s nothing left. Not what anyone thinks of you, not when they try to force your square peg into a round hole, and really not when they shatter your life into so many pieces you can never put it together again.”- Ozzy

Aliyah, aka Liyah, burrows her way into your heart with her loyalty and compassion. Her royal title may command respect, but she earns it simply by being herself. Was she a little spoiled? Yes. Did that stop her from trekking across the globe (with next to nothing) when she fears the worst has happened? Absolutely not! Thank you sweet baby Jesus that she crosses paths with Ozzy, because between him and the rest of the Killer’s brigade, she has never been safer.

Souls is the 6th (and hopefully not last) book in Brynne Asher’s The Killers series. And Ms Asher has completely NAILED it. We also get to catch up with my other book boyfriends and their wives at Whitetail, as well as…COWS!!!!

“If you need me to rescue you from the heifers, give me a call.”- Ozzy

Anyone else think this quote needs to be on a T-shirt???

Anywho…if I could, I’d give this unlimited stars. Unfortunately the world doesn’t work that way, so I’m stuck with 5 ⭐️♾🖤🖤🖤

I’m torn you guys. This book was so hot and exciting with twists and turns and action and adventure and yet....so freaking problematic for me.
I have to resign myself to this author being mildly sexist. Like her veiled sexism that doesn’t seem to be bothersome or noticeable to most of her readers. But to me I just wish she could be on the side of progressive modern feminism and stop making every heroine give up her whole life to be with a man. Every. Single. Time.
I get the damsel in distress trope, I do. And often I like it, it’s satisfying to be rescued from your woes by a badass stud with a six pack, and Brynne Asher write some seriously sexy heroes. Like melt your panties hot. But all of her heroines are lacking. They all be drinking wine and shopping. Gossiping and making babies whilst their men continue to be badass.
Anyway I liked this book and recommend it if you are into exciting damsel in distress rescued by badass hot dude stories.
I just want more from the female characters and frankly I want better epilogues for them too. The definition of female utopia is not drinking wine on a farm in between pregnancies and breastfeeding. It’s just not.
Yet still, 4 ⭐️.

SIMPLY SUPERB!!! Forced proximity never sounded sweeter… Or should I say SEXIER?! Outstanding world building, scorching chemistry, and deep and complex characters, that stay ingrained in our SOULS and never let go, that’s SOULS for you all, really. For me, I can only add three words: TOP 2022 READ!

Unforgettable! I feel like I could put up an essay up with all the aspects of this deliciously intricate romantic suspense that hooked me up from the very first paragraph. Its premises is not only fresh, and intriguing, but one of my favorite tropes, as close proximity creates some of the most intense encounters, ever; Liyah and Ozzy were such incredibly rich characters, in their individuality that were splendid already on their own, but together and in the same scene, space… WOW… Magnetism at its best!

Ms. Brynne has yet again, outdone herself, not only with these two’s forever memorable love story, but by bringing all the Killers universe in unison, showing once again, how these killers are THE BEST, at so much more then their job. True definition of Alphas, all the way! *Swoon* Not only can I never get enough, but I’m already begging for more… Pretty please…. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Souls quite literally started off with a bang and it never lost the heart-pounding energy throughout the story. I loved the mix of high intensity action with Ozzy and Liyah's romance and sweeter moments. It was so fun to see and had me rooting for them from the first interaction. I also really enjoyed how down to Earth Liyah was and even when things shocked her she never ran away from that. Hers was a quiet strength that blended so well with Ozzy's.

I'm not going to lie, there's a lot going on in this book. I mean A LOT! We learn more about Ozzy's background as well as getting in the middle of Liyah's crazy situation with her family. But even with all of that it never felt like too much and Ms. Asher did an amazing job incorporating all of the storylines into one and making it feel like a seamless combination.

Overall, this is a must read story and I'd say it could be read as a standalone without issue. There's previous characters that make appearances of course but nothing that would spoil their story. Though, the past books are so good I of course have to recommend reading them as well.

Fabulous read! ❣️❣️

Souls is the final book in the Killers Series and let me tell you that author Brynne Asher delivered a top-notch ending. She has this incredible ability to just draw me into her stories from the very first word and make me never want to leave. Liyah & Ozzy’s story was absolute perfection. The princess and the dead man….two amazing complex characters that I loved so much. Ozzy is a true alpha protective hero completely devoted to his princess. Liyah is fierce, strong, fearless and everything I love in a female character. AND the chemistry between these two was flaming HOT.🔥
This forced-proximity, suspenseful romance checks every box on my must-read list, and I wholeheartedly recommend it as well as the entire all-around knockout series.
So, it’s goodbye to the Killers and the whole family by choice but not forever as a series featuring the next generation is coming… 💃🏻

It’s not lost on me we’re the most unlikely pair. A princess and a dead man. Two souls, lost and wandering. Though neither of us truly has one, I finally feel home.

I love Brynne Asher, I love this series so I was hoping to love this book, and luckily I did🙆🏼‍♀️

This book features:
👸🏾 a princess on the run
🔪an assassin
👩‍❤️‍👨 forced proximity

I had no idea who this book was going to be about. In the past 5 books we've seen all the main characters get paired off so when this book started I was confused because the H was left out of the blurb. Turns out it's about Ozzy, one of the Crew's recruits so obviously an assassin, but he's also their hacker and manages the satellite system. I felt a biiiit like we were scraping the bottom of the barrel with Ozzy. His name was familiar, but without a really recent re-read I didn't remember any details about him. I don't think he was as well known as Jarvis (another recruit, book 4) was, but Brynne made me love Ozzy in this book so it's all good.

The heroine in this book is Princess Aliyah Zahir (aka Liyah) who was definitely giving off strong damsel in distress vibes. She's a 22-year-old social media star, and an actual princess, who's been living in the states while she goes to college. She recently lost contact with her mother who's suffering under her Uncle's rule in Morocco and immediately takes off to try and rescue her. I'll admit she's got heart, but absolutely no plan when it comes to trying to rescue her mom and 1000% would've gotten caught if she'd attempted anything on her own so it was really lucky she happened to run into an assassin and bewitch him 😏💘

Ozzy is 10 years older than Liyah and presented as this badass globetrotting assassin, but it turns out he's really a tender little cherub...or he was. In the before times he was "a basic farm boy from Pennsylvania" and the ultimate good boy nerd who's wildest fantasy was using his hacker skills to get a desk job at the NSA, but then he got fucked over and became Ozzy the Killer ☠️🔫🧨🆒. That's who we meet, that's the only Ozzy we've ever known in this series, but to me, he's the nerdy lil cherub 👼🏻It was refreshing to have an H with such a goodboy backstory, he's still super sweet even though his life has forced him to become hard and he was exactly what Liyah needed when her life imploded. One twist for Ozzy that none of the other assassin's had to do when taking the job is that he had to fake his own death...and Brynne Asher really leaned into that. I get that saying "I'm a dead man" and all the variations is fun and poetic or whatever, but it got annoyingly repetitive I was like shhhh about that already.

Like all other Brynne Asher novels, this was very instalove, but I love Brynne's ultra possessive brand of instalove, it just works for me and this one had the added benefit of delicious forced proximity 🥰 In general, I feel like Brynne's books give off KA vibes with a bit of Suzanne Wright thrown in with the formulaic nature of the books, but I'm here for it.

This was my first anticipated new release of 2022 and we're already in February. I only have like six other books with confirmed dates this year so far 😩 idk what that's about, but 2021 was also really slow for new releases for me. Not sure if that's just my changing tastes or what, but I've been doing a lot of re-reading the past year and I miss being excited about new releases 😔

I really like this series but I’ll be honest and say this was one of my least favorites so far. I loved the beginning. it was great. the storyline flowed easily, the characters were engaging and their connection was undeniable throughout the pages. I struggled a bit getting through the middle. felt like something was missing from the story— can't put my finger on what it was exactly, just it didn't click with me anymore. I did however love all the characters from previous books being together. that made the book worth it.

100 stars if I could! This book was perfection, the storyline captivating, the flow was seamless, actually perfect and Ozzy and Liyah, argggggghhhhh I f’in flove those two!

This book was everything sex, I mean five alarm sexy, both characters were flawless, they were everything I hope for my leads!!!! The genuine love, caring, sincerity and compassion...I mean it was ALL there and then some.

Honestly, I haven't read a book like this in...I can't even tell you, my heart was so full of absolute joy and love and I honestly felt like I was living the story right there with them.....just beautifully brilliant!

I can’t say enough, sheer perfection…..bravo for a story that made me fall hopelessly in love with the whole cast!!!!!

No amount words that I write will ever do any justice to Souls; however, I am going to try my best to convey my feelings on not only the story, but also the writing.

I’ve been waiting for Ozzy’s story; the wait has been so worth it; he was always “there” in the background and my interest was peaked about him. Souls gave me everything I didn’t realize I needed about Ozzy and let me tell you, it was soul shattering. Now, along for the ride is Liyah; that ride they are both on, shew is it crazy!!

Ms. Asher has always been an automatic one-click author me since reading Vines; her style of writing, her character development and her ability to weave the plot are always spot on. Souls brings the reader right into the story, to the point where I felt like I was watching a movie unfold (we really need to find an in with Netflix to get these books on the home-screen).

Thank you Ms. Asher for bringing to life these characters for me; I am completely attached to all the Killers and their families.

Ozzy & Liyah's story made me very happy! From the moment they meet, it's engaging & exciting. As read, every few chapters, a song would come to mind. I posted these to my IG so the author could go on that particular journey with me. LOL It was fun! You'll have to tell me if you felt the same. Some examples - Chapter 6 - Monsters by Shinedown; Chapter 14 - Hot in Herre by Nelly; Chapter 16 - Crush by Jennifer Paige... and so on. ; )

Ozzy is protective & swoony. Liyah is in need of some help - but she is also protective in her own way. She is searching for someone & met Ozzy at EXACTLY the right time for both of them. I can't even say anything more about their story because I feel like everyone should make each discovery about them as blind as possible because they are just THAT swoony together!!

ALSO! We get lots of bonding scenes w/ our other Killers & I AM THERE for that! Well crafted, all around. There's also a surprise or two.

Thumbs WAY up & I'm glad I got to read this today!

3.5 Assassin and the Princess Stars!

For the most part I really enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting enough but I couldn’t give it five stars because I just didn’t love Liyah, though she did grow on me….some. I essentially had a hard time connecting with her. She did some growing-up as a person during the course of the book, but some of her shallowness seemed to persist, she just seemed stand-offish with the rest of the (Killers) couples who by the way I LOVED Seeing!!

As for Ozzy he has been a mysterious but likable character in the previous books and now we finally get an in depth look at just what makes him tick. His back story is heartbreaking and it’ll make you want to see him have his much deserved revenge and HEA.

All-in-all it was a good book and it was great to finally get to know Ozzy who has always been loyal and steadfast. I’m in the minority here on my review, I wish I loved it as much as the previous books, I think this is the lowest I’ve ever rated a BA book….can’t all be five star reads (for me) I guess.

Wow! I have no words to adequately describe how incredible this book is. I have loved every single book in this series and didn’t think Brynne could outdo herself. But she did!! Ozzy is everything! I have wondered what his story was and this didn’t disappoint. From the moment Liyah comes across Ozzy by accident, it’s an instant connection. Seeing them come together and face their obstacles was everything. I loved catching up the others. Please make sure you devote enough time. You will not want to put it down. I highly recommend this book. Now, who’s next and quickly can we get it???

I ADORE this series! Part of the reason why Souls is a 5 star read for me is because I love all the couples from across the series, they all make frequent appearances in Souls as not only are they close friends and workmates, they have also become Ozzy's (& each other's) family. This quote from Ozzy made me LOL, as it describes perfectly the group dynamics and how they are all up in each other's business :

" Follow my lead, and when everyone else descends upon you like you're roadkill-but, you know, in the best way possible-just let it happen. The sooner they get it out of their systems, the better."

Ozzy and Liyah.....Liyah wasn't aware at the start, but she crosses paths with the perfect man to keep her one step ahead of those that would do her harm and wish to control her. Ozzy has his hands full dealing with his past & protecting Liyah's future, but I loved how he was always emotionally & physically present for her when she needed him most.

I'm all about authors providing extras like bonus epilogues or short stories, so I was thrilled to read the short story included at the end of Souls. It was the perfect extra to finish the story on.

Wow I’m not sure where to start! This book was incredible. We met Ozzy in previous books but had no idea about his background or anything about him. He was intense and clever but I had no idea the depth there was to him. When he takes an assignment he comes across Liyah. He has no idea who she is or what she’s doing. Something makes him want to help her and this starts an amazing journey of love and discovery. Along the way there are many obstacles to overcome but as their feelings grow so does his need to right the wrongs done to them both. With the help of all his new family at Whitetail and the guys and their women things start to fall into place. Ozzy is intense and that includes his love for Liyah. He’s fast become one of my favourites now. This story will break your heart but will ultimately mend it. The surprises in this book are never ending.
Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down. The whole series is like this. Definitely one I will reread over and over again. I loved it!

Action, adventure, romance, sex, family, trauma, heartbreak, love. It's all here in this book. And did I mention romance? And love?
••••••
Then, like a perfectly-timed hero from a fairy tale, Ozzy appears.
I don’t know how to be someone’s lifeline. I’m not powerful or strong or courageous.
It’s not lost on me we’re the most unlikely pair. A princess and a dead man. Two souls, lost and wandering.
“I’ve worked hard all my life, but I’ll stop at nothing until you love me completely.”
I wasn’t only put on this earth to protect her physically, but I’ll lay down my life to guard her heart and her soul.
Fairy tales and the life of a princess are nothing compared to the life Ozzy has given me. 💖

Ozzy, our quiet brainy one, landed himself a princess ya’ll, no seriously she is an actual princess. So, I always call dibs on the Killers guys, and just add them to my amazing Reverse Harem that Brynne Asher was so nice to create for me, thank you Brynne, but here…I can’t compete with a real Princess, who models, oh and is absolutely adorable….but still gonna add him, because I need a complete set😉🤣. Can I just say that I think these two may be my favorite couple of this series, I know right, but I adored them, they were total relationship goals. They gravitate to each other, like two magnets, and it’s so natural, like they’ve always been together. These two quite literally can’t keep their hands off each other, once they meet they are always together, snuggled up, and I loved it.
Sometimes you really are in the right place at the right time. So, if I am on the run, I want to be with one of the guys in this series. And I do not care which one, just pick one because I am flexible, and since I have claimed them all, I really can just pick one. This book is fast paced right from the beginning, just one big edge of your seat thrill ride. One thing about a Brynne Asher book is that you need to read all the way until the last line of the book, every page, every line, because you never know what’s gonna happen next. A whole lot of what the f*ckery.

Safe read, Ozzy is quite the intense af possessive dirty talker, and I was totally there for it. I don’t really want to use the word insatiable, but they totally are. They are equally obsessed with each other. It’s always the quiet ones, am I right? We get to see our Killers family. This group will always be one of my favorites, they are so extra, like the quirky OTT family. They had me laughing at their antics. Bella and Carson…so damn funny. Fantastic storyline, with a lot of suspense, chaos aka sh*tshow, and all the emotions. Epilogue with multiple timelines, and a hea. I’ll be like 70 and asking Brynne Asher when the next Killers book will be, because I always want more of this series. So addicting, one of my favorite guilty pleasures. #BookCrackSeries

ARC REVIEW

I have been a big fan of this series and Brynne Asher's writing.

Let first start off with that my favorite of this series started with Grady, then Jarvis held that spot hard for a long time. When we got to know Jarvis during Asa's story, I knew he was end game for me. BUT... the unthinkable has happened. Ozzy has won my heart and I don't want it back.

This man... THIS MAN right here is the sweetest soul I have ever read. How can Brynne write such alpha men without making it seem like they are overbearing or toxic? It's truly a gift.

Ozzy and Aliyah (Liyah) love bleeds from the pages. I couldn't put the book down. It didn't feel forced and the character building was so good.

Ozzy is the perfect amount of protective and alpha. He felt the pull toward Aliyah and never once fought it. I love that. You always read about the man having mixed feelings about falling for a women, but not Ozzy.

The banter between the men in these books is so good. I laugh out loud and smile ear to ear from the things they say to each other. A bunch of softies.

My favorite quotes:

"Crew might be the brains of this fucked-up organization, but his wife, Addy, is its heart" - Ozzy

"I know for a fact if I go back to Addison with it's complicated, I'm going to smell like cow shit tomorrow, Oz. Tell me what the hell is going on"

BRYNNE IF YOU ARE READING THIS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS THE LAST BOOK. I NEED MORE. IM NOT READY FOR IT TO END.

I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Souls by Brynne Asher was an epic, thrilling, sexy romantic suspense romance that captivated by attention from start to finish. I have loved all of Brynne's Killers, Jarvis formerly being my favorite, but Ozzy just stole my heart and took the top spot! I love that this story offered second chances and new beginnings. Plus, Brynne does what she does best in her Killer series, giving us all the spice, and the heart stopping twists and turns that will have you absolutely consumed turning page after page until the very end. Ozzy and Liyah's romance is unexpected, HOT, addictive, and simply meant to be. Ozzy's loyal, swoony, and protective personality will leave your heart soaring. Add that to Liyah's determined, daring, and passionate persona, and you have an one epic power couple!

Overall I LOVED this book! If you love a romantic suspense story with a hot hunky "dead man", a brave princess on the run, a train ride to remember, romantic firsts, nights in Paris, a holy hot confessional, catching up with the "crew" at Whitetail, walks with the cows, gripping on the edge of your seat action, and a HEA that will make your heart melt in all the best ways, then you will love Ozzy and Liyah's killer story! This story, these characters, this series, has quickly become one of my favorites, and I always look forward to more from Brynne Asher!!

Talk about a book where the odds are against the characters….whew. Souls had me RIVETED.
The tapestry of emotion woven into the fabric of this story will leave you feeling both breathless and exhilarated at the same time.
Souls has an intense and fast paced plot. This book was packed with globe trotting escapades with tons of off the chart sexual chemistry. Combine that with Ms Asher’s signature banter and the entire cast of Killers and their wives will leave you with the perfect book.
These Killers and their wives that have no boundaries when it comes to “family”. When you’re in, you’re ALL IN with them. Seriously, who wouldn’t want a bunch of “retired” assassins, their wives, a herd of cows and tons of wine at their disposal by your side?
This book had me flipping page after page for hours. I never wanted it to end.

Liked it, a lot!
It was almost perfect for the first part of the story, when the action and thrill packed storyline took the spotlight, the second part was a tad bit mellowed down, so 4 stars is just the right rating! :)

Ozzy has been a mystery throughout the Killers series, you knew he was tormented and had secrets. Well finally we get his story in Souls and I promise you it was worth the wait.
Aliyah Zahir is a Princess that’s on the run and finds herself right smack is Ozzy’s path and so begins their adventure.
Liyah is so determined, strong and fearless. She was the perfect match for Ozzy. Their chemistry just seeped through the pages.
There was so much to love about this book. Once I started I could not put it down. Nobody writes alpha male characters like Brynne Asher and I promise you, this is a story you’re going to want to read over and over again.
I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars it so deserves it!

Souls. The latest entry in the Killers series. Didn't think Brynne was coming out with another, yet here we are. Sadly, as much as I've come to adore Brynne as an author and many of her delightful stories (several of which I now own), I found this latest entry to be a little on disappointing side. Given that the plot wasn't a horrible one, I'm gonna have to blame my lack of enthusiasm on myself and what I've come to want or expect from the books I read. Honestly, I think I'm just getting kinda bored with this series, and I hate to say that. The traits of both the men and women stars of these stories are too much the same now. In fact, they're so much alike in this book that I could often had trouble telling them apart, other than by name. I feel like including ALL the characters from the past books is forcing Brynne to dilute them to the point of being unrecognizable, which is a shame. I'd rather have some of them absent than present and different. Better to focus on the NEW faces and let me TRULY get to know them.

I mean, it was still a good read. Easy to follow and I finished it fast. It held my interest for the most part. Like I said earlier, the plot wasn't a horrible one. A princess (Liyah) and a presumed dead man (Ozzy) definitely have an interesting meeting, which occurs on a train when Liyah stows herself away in Ozzy's cabin. Against his own initial wishes, Ozzy feels compelled to help Liyah on a mission to find and save her missing mother, all while still facing his own battle from his past. I was hoping for a more gripping tale once things started to unravel, but for some reason, this entry is pretty tame in that department. Sure, there are some thrills and some surprising bits (though not really; I guessed some plot points pretty easily), but the stakes just didn't feel as high as they were being presented to be. I can tell they're there. I can tell things are meant to be worthy of a gasp or two. But they just didn't faze me like they should have. Many "gripping" moments worked themselves out remarkably well, actually, not much fuss or muss. And it happened more than once, often enough where I was eventually like, "Oh. Well...okay then."

But let me talk about Ozzy and Liyah for a moment. The two (of course) are dazzlingly hot specimens of man and woman (as per usual with this series). I liked them both at first, at least when they were "new" in their ways. Ozzy's got the smarts, the somewhat abrasive personality, and the blatant lack of interest in socializing (which I SO wish was more embellished because that's super unique). The cherry on top coulda been making him an actual nerd of sorts, but I guess that's pushing it. Liyah had the feisty snark, the quick-wittedness, and the ability to finagle her way in and out of situations with abandon. Unfortunately, once things heated up with them, BOTH of their personalities fizzled out to generic romance standards. They didn't really become unlikable per se, but...they no longer stood out anymore. Ozzy just ends up becoming yet another overprotective Alpha, even when it isn't called for, and Liyah ends up being another female pushover catering to his whims, his feelings, his thoughts, etc. These two end up, of course, having a rapid-fire romance, falling in lust within a couple of days, and love within a few weeks. Ozzy spouts sonnets to Liyah, much like Grady in book two, and it conflicted jarringly with how he was in the beginning. What is it with making the cranky guys less than cranky? Can't we just keep them cranky AND in love? Why turn them into blabbermouth poets?

Then of course there's the sex, much of it awkwardly placed, at least in my opinion. Look, I know there's gonna be sex in these books. It's practically a staple. But damn, the number of times sexual situations were thrown in this story to carry these two characters through their scenes was a tad ridiculous. I know much of it's supposed to be steamy and hot or whatever, but for me, it cheapens things considerably. Numerous problems, some of them tragic, occurred in this story that were solved via something sexual. Gotta prove a point? Gotta deal with grief? Gotta vent some anger? Bring on the sex and all is right in the world again! I just wasn't a fan of that. Horny, out-of-control characters aren't appealing in the least. For me, it dulls the believability of the love story. I legit do not understand WHY these two fell in love. Okay sure, Ozzy saves and protects Liyah more than once, which I guess might explain the love on HER part, but I don't understand why HE would love HER. All I gathered from him was that he thinks she's hot and he wants to bang her right away. Maybe he admires her tenacity to find her mother? I dunno. If there was a reason why he came to love her, I either missed it on my own, or it wasn't fleshed out enough to be obvious. And all for the sake of some cheap sex.

At any rate, I almost rated this thing 3-stars like most of its predecessors, but I didn't like it all that much as a whole. I reiterate that I'm likely the biggest blame for that. I just want MORE than what these books are delivering, I suppose. I'm helplessly sucked in, though. No doubt I'll STILL be reading the next entry anyway when it arrives, hoping for more of what I loved about Vines and Gifts, which are still my favorite two entries in this entire series. Nothing wrong with a little hope.

Work is so overrated when you have a Killer on your kindle and when that Killer is Ozzy sleep becomes overrated!

Leave it to Brynne Asher to take me on a trip around the world and lose my heart to Ozzy somewhere along the way!

I may never recover from my book hangover….Ozzy and Liyah grabbed me from page one and never let me go and I now I don’t want to let them go!

Is it possible to have every single book in a series be your most favorite? Yes….yes it is when the H is a Killer!

Am I crying because this is the last book of the series? Absolutely!

The Killer series is my #1 all time favorite series! These men and women have become like family to me, they have left me on the edge of my seat, taken me all over the world, made me laugh, made me cry, and made me fall in love over and over again. Thank you Brynne Asher for sharing them with us….they have given me hours of entertainment and have allowed me to escape reality time and time again and for that I’ll be forever grateful!

The latest book in the Killer series slayed my book slump. The writing is fantastic - Ozzy and Liyah are steamy together, burning up the pages with sexy danger and intrigue. And meeting up with Crew's crew again warms my heart. This whole series is wonderful, and Ozzy is no exception. My top read for the year!
