I find Anita Kirk very creative. I don't know what kind of food she eats and what kind of water she drinks but this author is CREATIVE!!!! As you can imagine this is not the first book by this author I read and it won't be the last. She delights me with her plots and characters. I mean who comes up with a plot like this one with a very unexpected twist? Only Anita Kirk does! I recommend this story for anyone who is looking for an intriguing and entertaining book. :)
Okay, so I don't like giving bad reviews but I found this book very painful to read and only read the first 40 pages or so before I had to give up (which I'm not in the habit of doing). There are no commas or any type of punctuation throughout entire paragraphs making it exhausting to read. The sentences are all over the place going from one subject to another and the book has many very unrealistic conversations between characters... overall, definitely not for me.
I thought it was amazing how Flora could see strangers dreams with cobwebs connecting them. I had to give it all five stars for Anita's creative authorship. The way she brings these words to life is genius.
Dream Changing is a captivating adventure that will sweep readers off their feet. The book takes us on an exhilarating journey alongside Flora, an ordinary woman whose life takes an extraordinary turn when she receives a mysterious pair of glasses.
From the first page, the story grabs hold of your imagination and refuses to let go. The author's vivid descriptions transport you into Flora's world, making it feel tangible. The concept of the glasses, with their ability to reveal people's dreams, adds a unique and intriguing element to the plot, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.
Flora is a relatable and inspiring protagonist. As she embarks on her adventure, she discovers her own strength and resilience, and her determination to save the world from the clutches of evil is inspiring. We meet a colourful cast of well-developed characters, including her daughter Kate, who adds depth to the story.
The pacing of the narrative is good, with each chapter compelling you to turn the pages. The situations Flora finds herself in, make for an adrenaline-fueled read.
With its imaginative premise, well-rounded characters, and heart-pounding plot, this book is a must-read for fans of fantasy and adventure. I can’t wait to see what Anita Kirk has in store for us next.
Flora’s ordinary life in the year 2020 takes a wild twist when a simple trip to the optician delivers more than just new glasses. Instead, she stumbles into a world of strange buttons, eerie cobweb people, and magical items that blur the line between reality and dreams.
What begins as a quest for vision becomes a kaleidoscopic adventure where Flora—and her daughter Kate with her friend Joe—must navigate unpredictable, dangerous, and eye-opening encounters. From tortoises battling witches to walking stick worlds, dream-changing shops, and mysterious earrings and corkscrews, every chapter pulls you deeper into a surreal universe.
Dream Changing is an intriguing story about a Flora who acquires a pair of glasses that give her the ability to see and change people’s dreams. But that is not where the adventure ends, as it ventures into a magical world with a quest to save the cobweb people. Undoubtedly, there is a charm to this book's zaniness, and its humour and creativity are to be commended, with jokes throughout to counter the suspense. On the downside, the grammar and sentence structure are poor, which interrupted the flow for me. Additionally, I don't think the book cover effectively conveys that it is a book intended for children.
Great book for all ages but definitely suitable for older children. A good and imaginative plot that keeps you delving further into the story. Some have commented on the writing style that can at times sound as if the characters are only half human, but I think this adds to the dream-like aspect of the novel.
A novel idea taken to its full and well worth a read.
Dream Changing is one of the best novels I have read. A lovely story of how Flora got an amazing magical glass that could see people's dreams and change their dreams. She helped. With the help of this magical glass, she helped lots of people that suffer from dream problems. The time I spent on it was worth it. Recommended!

Well, that was quite the read. Engaging storyline and well developed characters, all of which I read in only two sittings. I can’t wait to read from Anita Kirk. Great stuff - thumbs up
Very impressed how good the glasses were with Flora being able to see peoples dreams. Imaginative and easy to read and focus on. Great book for all ages. You may well lose yourself in the world painted cleverly by the author.
I have read work by Anita Kirk before and yet again this one was another great story. Flora is such an interesting character which got me into wanting to read the entire book! Well worth it and such creativity!
Dream Changing by Anita Kirk is an intriguing read! I really like the concept and storyline which is quite original. The author has been really creative with this story and it pays off. I really recommend giving this a read. Five stars!
This is a fun read about a woman with magic glasses that allow her to change people's dreams. I laughed at the characters' jokes, which were entertaining. It's appropriate for younger readers too. The book could benefit from some editing, but was overall fun to read.
Anita's mindfully creative how well she brings out those stranger dreams! The writer's plot is engaging with several twist. The glasses Flora sported had their own conversational dialogues. Fun to read, enlighten and interesting.
The story is exciting and flowing. I read the book in one afternoon all in one go because it excited me. I appreciate the author's narrative style and will read her future books.
