Every doubt had vanished; she had claimed his heart ... Strange as it seemed, he was in love with this exotic woman who had taken him from everything he had ever known. Finally free of the bonds that had kept them apart, they had a real opportunity to build a life together. Everything had changed; everything was different now. For as long as he lived, he could never forget that beautiful night they'd shared together as one, bodies entwined, her pale skin astonishingly soft against his rough, work-hardened hands. Her eyes watching him, longing for him, ecstatic at his touch.
Run out of their village and with winter fast approaching, the clan prepares for battle against an unknown enemy. Iain lives through a hellish nightmare, and Troells plans for revenge ...
"Claimed: The Shield Maiden's Highlander" is a historical romance with a Viking - Highlander twist! Guaranteed to get your blood boiling and captivate your imagination.
This portion of the saga is not quite as enjoyable as the previous ones. There is too much death. I received a complimentary copy of the story from the author. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving a free copy. This short story does leave you on a cliffhanger but the wait isn’t long for the next one. This short story will have you on the edge of your seat from page one!
As Iain and Liv battle to survive their health issues, we get to see Henri’s perspective and thoughts as well as Troels. We get to see and experience their sorrow, fears and planning. As the story is unfolding we are learning more about Iain’s past.
I absolutely cannot wait for the next book! Although I wish it was in first person POV, this is still a well written story and it gives you a glimpse into the past!
Claimed is part of The Shield Maiden's Highlander series. A lot has happened prior to this part and now especially Liv and Iain need to heal and recover after being freed from Sten. Iain is sicker than he thought and was about to die. Then, in a fever, he sees his sister and brother and learns its not his time yet. Waiting for them to take revenge is harder than expected. And when the healer from their village tells them how it went, they want nothing more than to go and punish the killers.
Eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series.
I received an ARC from the author but this review is voluntary given
This is the continuation of Liv and Iain's story but the focus is shifted a bit to Liv's brother Troel who has to protect the injured pair of Liv and Iain after rescuing them from captivity. He also has to deal with the fact that his parents and most of his clan have been murdered. There is not a whole lot going in this part of the series but the way it ends shows that in the next book, things are going to happen. I can't wait to see how this story unfolds in the final book ☺️

I didn’t think this story of captured highlander Iain and his captor the Viking warrior Liv could continue to improve. But it does. The narrative keeps you engrossed, drawing you in as you follow Iain’s tortuous journey. I can hardly wait for the next, and concluding, instalment. Will things turn out well for Iain? Will he return to Scotland, or remain in Denmark? I have been kept on tenterhooks since the conclusion of book one. This is one excellent story and in a way I shall be sorry when it ends. I received an ARC and am leaving a totally voluntary, unbiased and honest review.
The story of Liv and Iain continues, both have been rescued but gravely wounded. Returning to Ribe they see the village in ruins and Liv’s parents hanging from a tree. Not sure who the enemy is or if their village is safe, they go into hiding. The story is another cliffhanger, but this wasn’t as exciting as previous novellas. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story given to me by the author. #Claimed #FionaKnightley
Worth 5 stars but for the cliffhanger. Fiona continues her captivating historical romance. Great characters, the reader feels almost a part of the saga. Brutality, viciousness, survival, huge cultural differences, yet we also see gentleness, caring, loyalty and love! Really enjoy this author’s work, and look forward to the next (and final) episode. I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.
This is getting good, but I'm getting a tad bit upset that it's not a longer read; feels more like episodes. %-/ Overall, it's good enough that I do want to know where it's all headed, and how will all end? O_o On to the next! #HappyReading ♥
I received an Advanced Reading Copy from the Author via Bookfunnel for an honest review.
With there village overtaken by an unknown enemy and Liv’s parents killed,Iain and Liv along with there rescuers remain in hiding to continue healing and plan what there next move will be . This Was another breath holding episode anxiously look forward to the next .This is my honest review
