Bent Arrow
Things were looking up. I had an awesome new bow and arrow of the magical variety, and even money in my pocket.
Then Aunty had to go and spoil it all by getting shot in the bum by an arrow tipped with Vamp2. Yes, I shot her. No, not on purpose.
After the high wore off, and she shot me back, she dragged us into a mission to eradicate the world of this nasty narcotic.
So, all we had to do was go up against the vampire overlords who controlled production.
What could possibly go wrong?

Freaky closure
While attempting to use an enchanted arrow to take down the Finders’ latest target Freaky and Aunty get more than they bargained for. When the projectile goes awry and strikes a vial of Vamp2 the duo is instantly addicted. The substance, culled from the blood, adrenaline, and fear of the living is more addictive than anything known to the Freakverse and the effects are terrifyingly vivid. While Grunge is running loose, Freaky and the crew must find a way to track him down before it’s too late. But they are not the only ones out to get Grunge and eradicate Vamp2 and they form an unlikely alliance with the vampires to accomplish what seems to be an impossible task. But after the smoke clears and the baddies are caught, a visitor shows up that may very well change the way Freaks views the world around him ever again.
After an extended hiatus, Al K. Line has returned with the fourth and final installment in the Freaky Finders series and it was well worth the wait. While the plot mainly focuses on Freaky and Aunty’s escapades capturing the thoroughly disgusting Grunge and working to eradicate Vamp2, the rest of the team are also present as only they can be. Line’s usual humor is also in full effect and yet again I found myself laughing out loud at some of Aunty’s more creative insults. Also, we finally get a glimpse into a bit of Freaky’s back story, which I found tragic at the very least, but this was not done in a way to detract from the story, because it actually served to set up for a much larger reveal later on. With this being the end of the series, it was interesting that some questions are answered, but several others remain such as “will Aunty ever be free of the pants of awesomeness”. As far as endings go, with this crew, this is probably the best we can hope for but that’s much better than having them all blown up. Actually, if not a “happy” ending, definitely a content one. And with the Freaky Finders coming to an end and a new series and a new cast of characters looming on the near horizon I am looking forward to what Line imagines next. I have read his entire catalogue to date and have not once been disappointed on over 40 titles spanning 9 different series to date. I am confident that his next series will not be any different.
