Carlotta's simple day of shopping turned very quickly into a dangerous encounter with an armed man who threatened to kill her. A Christmas to Remember.
Lelia Long Collins grew up in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia not far from Kentucky and Tennessee and was exposed to the colorful storytelling traditions of the mountains at an early age. She is the mother of three grown children and the wife of a twenty year Navy veteran. She has traveled extensively within the United States and to Germany and the Ukraine. She has a captivating way of weaving a story and pulling her reader into the twists and turns while developing her plot.
I received this e book in exchange for a review. I chose it because with Christmas in the title, this was a good time to read it. The book was not dull to me. It portrayed Carlotta as a Believer, which in the end, was ultimately her saving grace. A very quick read which I do recommend.
When Carlotta gets car jacked and is driving around, being held at gunpoint by a man who is definitely under the influence of something, she turns to prayer to help her out of the situation. During this long captive experience, she is able to wear her captor down and soften his heart.
Although this is a story with a powerful message and a surprise ending, it is very repetitive and not very deep. It kind of glosses over the characters. But overall a quick easy read that packs a powerful punch.
A short story that attempts to bring the meaning of Christmas into the mind of the reader. It opens the heart to look at others in a different light. It is a story of fear, hate, love and compassion. A story of hope and redemption that only God can provide.
