5 stars because I learned so much! I don't agree with everything in this book, but there is so much that I loved. The basic jist is that God created all of us to be joyful, perfect, whole beings and through our life we forget and lose parts of that (beginning with our birth experience). The book is about helping ourselves return to that whole state and using the light of Christ within us. It includes ideas about the earth itself moving to a more joyful state as the second coming gets closer and as that happens we have to work harder to be sad/depressed. Pretty cool idea, I thought. It is not something to read fast, I have actually been reading it for a couple of years because I usually have to ponder chapters for a few days after I read them. A powerful, positive book to piece at and learn from and then refer back to.

This is a book about energy and finding and using the energy of the universe to improve our lives.

Some of it resonated with me, but mostly I felt like it was naive hearts and flowers false doctrine. It really bothered me that she says that if we just can have positive attitude we will have no trials or problems in our lives and that we attract every bad thing that happens to us, that on some level we want to suffer and if we can just figure out why and then change that belief all the bad stuff will just disappear.

Obviously we can improve our situation by having a good attitude and looking at problems and trials as opportunity for growth, but sometimes bad things happen to good people through no fault of our own. This book seems to blame the "victim" which is silly.

I do believe that we have energy within us and as we learn to use it for positive things we can improve. I believe that this energy comes from God, and is for our good.

I can't say I wholeheartedly recommend it; at least not to LDS folks. (Not LDS? Knock yourself out! It's awesome!) The author IS LDS, but some of her ideas don't necessarily mesh with what I think is LDS doctrine. For some of her ideas, I've been able to step back and translate them from new age speak to LDS speak, and it's actually helped me understand some basic doctrines better. On the other hand, there are some things I'm really interested in reading conference addresses and other info from the Brethren to see what they have to say on the same subject.

All in all, I like what she has to say about maintaining a positive attitude and thoughts and I like the idea of the law of attraction and have been trying to live that. But if you're LDS, take caution. Our main focus in this earth should be planning a course back to our Heavenly Father, and to focus too much on "spirituality" over "eternal life" can be detrimental to that goal.

Had I not already been through some life coaching myself where my coach used many of these same techniques that Carol talks about (he is the one who recommended this book to me), I probably would have been leery of some of her teachings. However, since I have experienced this kind of therapy I know that it works and it cleared up issues that have been bothering me for YEARS that I hadn't been able to clear up using my conscious mind/effort.
I learned about hypnotherapy while taking my HypnoBirthing class almost 5 years ago and I learned that people under hypnosis actually can not be led to believe or do things that are contrary to their underlying belief system, ie: if someone is under hypnosis and told to rob a bank but they do not believe it is right to rob a bank, then they will not do so. If they feel it is okay to rob a bank (even if they have never done it before), then they will be open to it under hypnosis.
In BOTH of my experiences with going back to my child-self, I have actually ALWAYS remembered part of the experience with the adult who was mean to me (the mean lady on the corner that we called the cat-hater since a few years after my first experience with her I had another experience with her in which she was mad at ME for my cat going underneath her car in the garage - she's the one who left her garage door open however). By accessing this memory in a meditative state though, I was able to remember with more clarity exactly what happened so that I could fully forgive this woman who had yelled and sworn at me, a 5 year old little girl, for coming to collect my paper route money - I was just doing what I was supposed to be doing to earn money and I got in trouble for it! For all but two paying jobs I have ever had in my life I have gotten in trouble by my bosses/managers/supervisors when I was just trying to do what I was supposed to do to the best of my ability - so I do agree with the thinking that I created those experiences since my very first experience of working for money is when I got yelled at and sworn at for doing my job. Since I didn't have any way to filter what an adult was telling me, I believed it and carried around that negative energy for 25 years and because my subconscious believed that I would always get in trouble in my jobs when I was doing what I was supposed to be doing, I did create that and attract that into my life. Not only that but my subconscious spent the next 25 years looking for "proof" that this "belief" was "true". My coach had me invite the Savior into this room where I had also invited this woman and for the FIRST time in my life I understood how to truly GIVE my burdens to the Lord because I did not want them anymore. He will not take anything from us (pain, suffering, trials, temptations, etc), but he will receive what we freely give him.
This book has helped give me additional insights into my life, my interactions with others and I gave my copy away to my cousin last week instead of lending it to her because I felt prompted to. I knew I could and would buy more copies of it.

My friend Lisa gave this to me and when I first read it, I could barely keep my eyeballs from rolling right out of my skull. It was so hippy-dippy, New-Agey, chakra, energy aura...wierdness...that I could hardly stand it. BUT, my dear friend gave it too me so I forced myself through it. And, you know, there were bits of wisdom here and there. So then I re-read it, (looking for enough positive things to say to Lisa) and, lo and behold, I got a bit more bits and pieces of real insight. So, lesson learned. Don't be so judgemental that you skip right over the pearls. I've been reading it very very slowly, and re-reading. It's a bit much to absorb all in one seating. Underneath all the hippy la-la is some very sound advice. So thank you Lisa! Because I wouldn't have bothered to get past the first chapter if it wasn't for you.

Oh golly, I just do not know about the star factor here. Maybe four but maybe only a three. It took me ages to read this book and at times I rolled my eyes. I did. Regularly. I love Carol Tuttle, I can honestly say that she's changed my life for the better but I found this book a little new agey for my tastes and, as someone who has some knowledge and experience with the subject, I have HUGE doubts about some of her ideas about the role of abuse in the lives of individuals, specifically children. Though I am also LDS and generally share her religious views on life, including life before and after this one here on earth, I found her statements on abuse being a blessing positively offensive. There were a few other things I can't say I wholly agreed with her on. And yet. I will admit that the lessons my family has learned from abuse have been blessings and I would not easily desire to give up the things learned but I cannot possibly imagine her scenario as far as abuse goes. Cannot. But, I kept reading and every time I was about to say, oh brother, enough already, she would make a series of profound points, statements that resonated deeply with things I believe and have experienced to be true for myself. For instance, it's a simple truth, our thoughts and focus determine outcomes. Thoughts have tremendous power. Naturally it's not quite as simple as it sounds but it's true. Focus on gratitude and positive things happening in your life and you will find more gratitude and notice more positive things happening. I have only dabbled in her energy healing techniques but I have to say I've felt real power there, power for positive change. I underlined a lot of things, always a sign that I'm thinking. Plus some scribbled notes in the margins so there is definitely something here for me.

Now, strap in, this is gonna get a little bit personal.

About two years ago, long before I'd ever heard of Carol or energy profiling, or paid any attention to this type of healing, my husband was laid off and I had no idea what we were going to do, where we were going to end up ... just no idea. I had picked up enough extra hours at work and we downsized a bit and had some savings so I knew intellectually we were going to be alright but it hit hard and I felt so emotionally overwhelmed and fearful. One day while I was caring for a sick friend (she was sleeping) the wheels just came off.the. cart. All the way off. All of them. All the circular thinking about what are we going to do, feelings about how we'd worked and tried so hard and yet, like so many others (and I recognized that!), here we were, again, and all that effort didn't matter. Just before the pity part truly set in my thoughts turned to how it felt as if nothing I ever planned and worked toward worked out, so what was the point? I cried. Hard. Big, gulpy, snotty tears. I dumped it all out there for the Creator, I didn't have words for prayer, just snotty tears and feelings but I put it all out there on the table. Completely emptied my soul of those fears and feelings. Then a strange thought occurred to me, to write down what I wanted. What did I really want our future to hold. I made a list. It was not terribly long but included some specifics about work for my husband and a new home, again, quite specific as to what I needed and wished for, and some hopes for family interactions. The items on that list have been fulfilled almost to the letter and in some very surprising ways. This seems to be exactly what Carol is talking about and I am curious to see how it plays out in my life without the storms of tears.

I've loaned my copy out and hope to generate some discussion with that reader. Then I think I'll read it all over again and see what the second go round yields, now that I am more aware of her theories and processes. Perhaps I will add a PS when the time comes.

Sorry guys. So not my bag. It was completely wackadoodle. Bonkers bananas. I could not even. The verrrrrrrrry basic premise of attracting energy, ideas, people, actions in our lives by the thoughts and energy we put out I more or less agree with-- basically that you get back what you give out. But it got much, much too weird for me and I did not enjoy it. All anecdotes and "trust me, I'm a professional" and nothing like actual supporting information. Just nope.

This book has some good things about not feeling as though life is running you, but unfortunately the author has some flaws in her logic that take her points to the extreme bordering on merely being in control of everything. Not my favorite book...not anything new.

It was OK from the standpoint of developing positive thinking. But I was reading Gerald Lund's "Hearing the Voice of the Lord" and so much of what Carol says just doesn't give the same feelings of truthfulness.

Read this book because it was #1 in a Substack on ‘books that will change your life’ - apparently it has the highest ratio of reviews on Goodreads that contain the words “life changing” or similar. I was expecting something extremely banal and universally palatable, but this was bonkers through and through. Cracked out Mormonism meets vibrations + affirmations girly. Favourite bits were when she said everyone who died in 9/11 wanted to die, and everything born by C-section has abandonment issues. Rating three stars for entertainment value - I did read the whole thing.

I first became aware of Carol Tuttle on-line when a recommendation for the "Dressing Your Truth" feed came up on my Facebook page. I soon took the DYT course and so much of it resonated with me that I decided to also take Tuttle's "Remembering Wholeness" home study course, which include this book, the audiobook edition, and a course with a workbook.

I found so much excellent information here about changing the way you think and the way you live. While there is a little bit of New Age "woowoo" involved, the recommendations are concrete, practical, and easy to implement. If one is familiar with the Abraham spirit guide, this is a very similar concept.

Tuttle brings in some of her Mormon spirituality into the matter -- a perspective with which I do not agree -- but it is very easy to substitute one's own views of a higher power for hers and still do the work she recommends.

Well worth adding to one's self-help bookshelf.

I really liked this book, but the system she has built is founded on a patchwork of theology, feel good techniques and pseudo science. It seems her system has worked for her in outstanding ways, but of course she's not relating the catastrophic failures (or written them off as a fault of the persons inability to assimilate her system I'm sure).

If one has enough breadth of understanding of these types of systems, religion and science, you can then translate what she is saying into some real useful daily help stuff! Its the impossible (or maybe in her eyes, as yet proven) foundations that are almost silly in their expression, but the application (ignoring the foundational structure) could be a great benefit to a lot of people, and I found myself choosing to 'look on the bright side of life' more often after reading it.

Carol Tuttle does a great job explaining our origins, our blueprint for happiness, how our true healer, Jesus Christ, can heal us, how God and His angels help us, empowering us to heal our lives. Healing our emotions no longer takes years of talk-therapy, but can be done almost instantly if you follow these principles. I liked that you could read individual chapters in any order. If you are just becoming familiar with energy healing and want a book to help you understand the basics of it, this is a good one to start with. There were one or two things that I recall in which I'm not sure that I agree with Carol, but overall, some good basic concepts of letting go of negative energy and attracting good things into your life.

I really enjoyed this read. Some of the concepts are difficult for me to fit into my spiritual framework, but for the most part the book really resonated with me. I tried to read it 5 years ago and could barely get through the first few pages (I remember thinking it was rubbish). It's amazing how a little more experience and progress can effect our openness to new ideas. If there are parts of your life that you would like to change, give this book a try.

I have a hard time accepting that everything that happens to me in life is a result of my thoughts. I believe there is more to it. Yes, having better thinking is important, but I don't think it controls my world entirely.

There were some interesting insights that helped me view things differently, but a lot of the things in this book are not congruent at all with what I believe religiously (which surprised me because I'm the same religious affiliation as the author).

There is a lot about the law of attraction in this book and I find some of it shaming; while I can agree that the types of relationships you makes helps attract more people to you, sometimes life happens and it can't be self-healed away. I also don't think that all of our health conditions are because we attracted them into our body, although, I can see how stress and other things we let in our life can exaggerate conditions. I believe in a life before we came to earth and one after, but I do not agree with Carol's idea about people stepping up to abuse us or do other unfortunate things as an opportunity to help us grow before we came; I believe people have free agency and sometimes they do stupid things at no fault of the victim and I DO NOT believe they attracted that to themselves.

The positive I received from this book was that I should be more detailed in my petitions and prayers to God and if it is in His will and timing, it will happen. I totally think this is a very positive application of the law of attraction. I do think that God often doesn't give us more because we don't spend the time to organize our thoughts and ask for more or we don't have the faith things can get better.

I wouldn't recommend this to a friend because of some of the shaming underlying messages in this book. I will never enable or condone abuse by saying someone agreed to abuse me, or another, before I came to earth. Do I believe that people shouldn't be stuck in a victim mentality? Absolutely! However, it is interesting to see the frame of reference that Carol Tuttle comes from since I use her closet system.

This is a revolutionary self-help and spirituality book I can best briefly describe as a combo of Mormon Christianity, manifestion/attraction philosophy, and more holistic and Eastern ideologies. Make of that what you will, but regardless of any biases you already have toward this kind of information, this book is a POWERFUL resource that will empower you and help you immediately create a better life experience.

You'll admit that Jesus Christ is a powerful spiritual teacher, even if you don't subscribe to the Christian religions. And he told us we can know a tree by its fruits. Many spiritual teachers who don't worship Christ, after all, are living in harmony with the greater spiritual unity that drives all life on the planet. Personally, I have become more separated from the Christian dogmas since becoming a mother. I found that the Bible's patriarchy speaks less to me now that I've been through this primal bio-spiritual experience. I find that some alienation from mainstream Christianity culture helps me to better embody the teachings of their central figure, actually, as Jesus said the complete commandment is to love. We can't love in fear of Hell or punishment. I'd actually argue that conservative Christians are putting some dark energy into our world. Carol Tuttle doesn't say as much, and you can tell she is still involved in religion, but she has found a way to integrate it wholly into her spiritual practices without tripping on the contradictions.

A couple of the assertions of this book continue to bother me. "We create every so-called 'illness' in the body." Reframing is powerful self-care. The thing is, the author does admit that sometimes depression can come from a misfiring or imbalance in the brain, which needs to be treated medically and not just spiritually. Is seeking medical help manifesting wellness?? The author also acknowledges generational DNA of beliefs are part of our subconscious too, potentially holding us back, and can be cleared and addressed with effort.

Apart from the very few pieces I wrestled with, this is the kind of book I want to reread with a pen and highlighter. Dig this soul food:

"Love is more powerful than resistance. You have no power to change what you resist; it only gets stronger. You must first learn to accept, allow, and love it. Only then will it start to change." Curiosity conquers fear. That's good relationship advice and emotional intelligence we can use in our own journeys through day to day life.

"No matter how we are feeling physically or emotionally, we are free mentally to think any thought of our choice...It's not our feelings but our conscious judgment of our feelings that creates pain and negativity...Anything that we believe has power over us is showing us we need to take our power back...Our attention and beliefs multiply our experiences...Start believing in the life you want as if it were already happening." Amazing insight.

The part of this book that I think has the potential to piss people off is the concept that humans volunteer for some of our most traumatizing experiences at a spirit level, in order to experience what we don't want so that we can clear it and elevate our humanity. The author urges us to put our collective attention and entertainment on wholesome things, using grace and radical forgiveness to free ourselves and give ourselves opportunities to heal from our worst tragedies as a collective group -- including things like Columbine, 9/11, molestation, etc. It's flirting with victim blaming, but in fact this can be empowering. If we put our attention on what we want, not what we don't want or want to protect from, it's affirming that we do have power and that we can overcome bad things that happen even to good people. Her lessons on forgiveness made my hair stand up. Life altering!

The affirmations of a grieving mother, for instance, brought me to tears: "I am loved and I am powerful in a healthy spiritual way. I am grateful for the experience of my son returning to spirit so I could reclaim the truth of who I am. I am creating a relationship and communication with him of a spiritual nature, different yet more wonderful than the physical one we knew before. I am close to him and feel his comforting presence often. I know he still loves me. I am helping others with similar experiences to come to a place of peace and connection with their loved ones who have passed on."

So much of this book's lessons evoke the equanimity that can be found in Eastern beliefs, but told in a narrative that can be understood and digested by wounded Abrahamic religion's apostates: "I used to believe that my adversities in life were being dealt out by God. That was how I proved myself and grew spiritually. That was contradictory to my knowledge that God was all loving and all knowing. Why would God have to try me and test me if he knew me, loved me, and essentially knew the outcome of my life? I now believe that I created my own struggles, with God's support, so I could come to know myself and master my spirit by coming through the energy of pain, darkness, and spiritual hardship...Maybe if in our deepest darkest moments we could really grasp that our higher self is loving what we are going through, that it is like a wild ride, we would yell and wave our hands in the air. Our higher self really knows all is well and that the ride will come to an end."

"When one of your children comes to you dissatisfied with their current life experience, rather than sympathizing with them, and talking about what they don't want, which will only help them create more of it, say to them, 'Why are you creating this? If you could have it the way you want it, what would that look like?' Help them become aware that they, with God, are the creators of their lives."

I am struggling with the assertion that our spirit is who we are. As a student of science and admirer of it, I can't easily understand the statement that our thoughts are spirit thoughts, our emotions are spirit emotions. We know that we can electrically probe someone's brain and influence their decisions, for instance. That's biology, not spirit. Although, too, I have seen evidence of miracles and evidence of what she says, science seems like a miracle only until we figure its mechanisms out. But I love the story of Jesus so much. He is our potential to strive to atonement, as an ideal even if we don't think of the Bible as strict nonfiction. The author's acknowledgment of Jesus' divinity as the fulfillment of his humanity was wonderful, as it leaves room for science (which we know is crucial). Much of this is, in fact, emotional intelligence wisdom that is beginning to trend during the social reckoning/pandemic events of the here and now, even though the author wrote it 20 years ago.

I've been reading this book off and on for about a year and a half to get through it. It took this long to realize I needed help to do some healing and really understand and take this information to heart. Instead of just reading it and going to the next book. This is the first book on audio I've listened to and I liked hearing Carol read this book. Think it made it more personal one on one instead of just reading it. There are wonderful advice in this book to listen to and will help you heal if you want it to. If you read it with the intention this is just another book, you won't get anything out of it. I know if you set an intention before you read this book and know you will understand, get something from the book and want to work to better yourself than you will enjoy this book. This book has some really good advice and you will be amazed how things in the book will hit home and never thought of things kn that way. Hope you enjoy the book like I did. I'll mostly likely listen to this book again. Thank You Carol!

There is a lot that I could say about this book. It is a book about healing. It’s about creating a life you love. It’s about your eternal, divine potential. It is full of knowledge and skills that I want to spend a lifetime studying and practicing.

It includes LDS-based doctrine. I understand why some people have a hard time understanding it or agreeing with it. But I see nothing in the book that that conflicts with the beliefs that I have (as a reader who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). Rather, I see it as adding layers of light and truth to what I already knew and believed. Christ introduced the higher law during his earthly ministry, as an augmentation to the law of Moses. It is a pattern of God to teach us higher laws, that give us more light and truth and bring us ever closer to Christ, when we are ready to receive them.

This book gave me a lot to think about. To me, each chapter seemed to me like a new insight into divine truths. To some though, they may seem like hard pills to swallow.

I was first introduced to Carol Tuttle from her Dress Your Truth platform, which actually changed my life. I mean, it was an idea that helped me immensely. I've also perused one of her books about children ("The Child Whisperer"?) but then my daughter slipped off with it and I haven't seen it since. This book was recommended to me and I've spent months reading it a little at a time, and trying to digest it. Some of the ideas are foreign (new) to me (energy healing, clearing negative thoughts, etc) but many of them align with beliefs I already hold. It's a little new agey but I tried some of the exercises she suggested and found them to work. The premise of the book is that we are all meant to be whole, that our lives are an experience where we are meant to create and regain the wholeness we had in a premortal life. It's a little "woo-woo" but is a very positive book and would be very helpful for people who are stuck in their unhappiness.

WOW! I thought that this book followed the format of discussing her energy profiling program. Boy was I wrong! This book discusses us, our purpose, God's purpose and plan for us, and how we can not just struggle through life, but move forward with Grace and Ease. Carol discusses the Savior and His Atonement, how to more fully receive that gift in our individual lives, and how we each have lessons that we have agreed to come to Earth to learn.

A thought-provoking, eye-opening, beautifully written book that you will want to go back and re-read time and time again.

Speaking as a person who isn't of a Christian faith, this book was really uplifting and insightful in the beginning. The middle and the end took a turn for the worse, however, (in my opinion) by becoming overwhelmingly, unbearably preachy. My mother asked me to read this book, so I suffered through the instructions on the LDS model of prayer, lessons on Christ's atonement, etc. There was still some wisdom throughout, but I was completely relieved when the book was over. What I did take from this book was very valuable, so I will give it credit for that.

She kind of implies that you have done something wrong or invited disaster into your life if you’ve gone through hard things. It’s very little but there is a part where she talks about things just happening so you can learn and grow and not because you invited them to happen. I had a hard time when a friend read this and decided that she had caused her miscarriage because she wondered if they were ready for another baby. Because of her experience with the book it was a while before I picked it up to read it.

I liked it and I didn't. There are some really good things that she suggests to do and I have started to try to use some. I just found myself struggling with the "my truth" bit. Maybe it is a question of semantics, but that phrase is frustrating to myself personally as it says to me that truth is whatever you want it to be. I feel words like "my perspective" or "my experience" would have been better suited. Also last thing, some things that I honestly felt were meant to be uplifting just made me feel worse about myself. But, I still recommend reading the book, if you are looking for healing.

So I am a Carol Tuttle fan, but those of us that are, know she can be a little "out there" with some of her stuff. This book has a lot of very valuable concepts and information and a fair amount of wacky stuff as well. If you can take the good and leave the weird then by all means- read this. It has a very similar feel to it as The Secret- the whole creating your own destiny idea. It was just what I needed in my life right now. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

I read this book after reading comments from a friend about it. I have to say, with all of the "life work" that I have been doing, this book was like delightful icing on a cupcake! It tied together so much of what I've learned in life and made me feel more whole and more in touch with what I really want. I loved this book! The presentation was great, with short, easy to digest chapters. Really, read it, you won't regret it!
