Study Bible for Men with Resources from Alistair Begg, Ray Ortlund, R. Kent Hughes, and More The ESV Men’s Study Bible was created for men in all seasons of life who are serious about God’s Word, to help them pursue a deeper, transformational understanding of Scripture. This ESV Bible features additional content written especially for men, including daily devotionals and articles from more than 100 acclaimed scholars and pastors. Along with robust Bible study notes to increase their understanding of Scripture, men will find encouraging resources to help them develop a deeper love for the Lord.
Alistair Begg has been in pastoral ministry since 1975. Following graduation from The London School of Theology, he served eight years in Scotland at both Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh and Hamilton Baptist Church.
In 1983, he became the senior pastor at Parkside Church near Cleveland, Ohio. He has written several books and is heard daily and weekly on the radio program, Truth For Life. The teaching on Truth For Life stems from the week by week Bible teaching at Parkside Church.
This is a very nice study Bible and pretty heavy. The type is smaller than I like but then it would be thicker and heavier with larger type. There are nice study notes at the bottom of the pages. I am a fan of the King James and New King James Version of the Bible. This is the English Standard Version which had first been published in 2008. Some prefer a certain version and that’s fine. It’s not a bad idea to compare multiple versions of the Bible to see how each has been translated. I actually have multiple versions of the Bibles: King James, New King James, New International Version, New Living Translation and now a very nice hardback Men’s Study Bible of the English Standard Version.
This is an excellent Bible. It is a birthday gift for my husband, and I know he is going to love it. We are a NIV family, but it is always good to own various translations. The ESV is a wonderful version to read. I received this Bible at no cost as a first-reads giveaway winner.
This is an excellent study Bible. The notes are abridged from the ESV Study Bible. The page inserts that are reflections on the text are fine, not great. I used this as a study Bible without such massive notes as the regular ESV.
My partner read this study bible with his morning men's group and it was a great success. Helped their spiritual condition and better life in general. Would recommend to anyone.
This study bible is one of the better ones i have used. I still use this as a great study tool. The maps, illustrations, and references have been very clear and informative.
