Barely held my attention. The characters are distant and difficult to relate to. I found the prose too meandering and full of fluff too.

I bought Sea Turtles Hatching by Katherine Orr for my middle school students. For this group, the book will be a quick read that will give them a clear sense of how working together is a key part of survival for sea turtles. It will also show them how the chances of survival are dramatically affected by dumb luck as well as good choices. I want my students to understand they are a part of that delicate web called the ecosystem, or, more personally, Earth. They can do right and more and better so long as they are girded with good, solid information. This book offers just that as it touches the heart.
