My new favorite series, manga and light novels. Quick, delightful read. Love the artwork, love the characters and I want more. So good. 5, just what I needed right now, stars.

VIDEO REVIEW HERE: https://youtu.be/jQ8HzCXdKag

I continue to stand behind my statement I shared in my previous review that this is one of the best villainess isekai I have ever read. I am definitely seriously considering getting the light novels because this has been an amazing and emotional read!

I think what makes this series so unique is that with previous villainess isekai I've read, the heroine receives her memories and either feels sorrow/sympathy for the actions done against the villainess OR the heroine determines she will do everything to change the future with fear driving her actions. While this series falls in the latter, it's the genuine and VERY realistic fear that overshadows every decision Pride makes. The fear is extremely tangible and heart-wrenching because once again we see her telling someone that should she ever act like a tyrant who will destroy the kingdom, to end her life.

Never ever have I seen a villainess heroine make such proclamations where there is no fear for her OWN life, but fear for EVERYONE else's lives. (Another element making this story stand out in its genre!) Once again it made me tear up reading because Pride is finding joy in the people she loves, but she still feels everyone's kindness is wasted on her. *sobs*

I have no idea where this series is going to go, but the very action-packed and heartfelt events throughout this volume (including a new character who joins our siblings' inner circle!) were very gripping and leaves me hopeful Pride's life won't end in destruction.

Also, GILBERT!! :o :o :o I won't say anything else, but that was surprising!!

Very much looking forward to reading the next volume even though I am SO bummed it's the last one because I have LOVED reading this manga series! It's been extremely engaging with very good art that I'm not ready for the story to end!

Chronique complète :
https://sunread26.wordpress.com/2024/...

Extrait :

There are some trite plot lines, but they’re done in an interesting way. Although the underlying issue - that Pride doesn’t have to be evil, she can choose to be good, and indeed has changed the entire story already - is completely ignored, I like that Pride is such an responsible kid. Her speech to the knights about their lives effecting the lives of everyone they would train and save in their lifetimes was very stirring. Of course, poor Arthur is confused by her directive to cut off her head if she ever becomes an enemy 😅 poor kid has a heavy responsibility dropped on him.

I’m sure Val is important later. The slave contract is…interesting. And that the queen had her make the judgment and take responsibility is I guess good training for her as the heir. I think it’s funny that the queen and consort don’t show up until moments like these, then you remember they’re technically in charge of this kingdom, not Pride.

In this volume, Princess Pride showcases her heightened final boss abilities to save her knights and take one step closer to becoming a wise and just Queen. She doesn't seem to full realize that the kindness she shows to the people around her has almost unraveled the fatal ending of her game counterpart. However, the final pages of this volume hint that there may still be trials to overcome.

Overall, this was another satisfying read. It's great to see Pride come into her own and uplift the people around her. Can't wait for the next installment!

And so ends another enjoyable volume in this lovely series!

I loved exploring the characters introduced in this installment — learning their histories and possible endings in the original otome, and seeing how they all interact with the newly enlightened Pride. I still hate her name (as well as Tiara and Stale), but I can get past that mistranslation or unfortunate authorial choice for the sake of such a fun story!

I highly anticipate the introduction of any additional love interests from the original game, and can't wait to see how this cast develops as they get older!

This added a lot more development to the story. I liked that we finally get a bit more on Gilbert and why he had been acting the way he did. Also there weren't a bunch of new characters added so the existing ones got to show more of who they are, but also still getting flashes of the life they originally led, and man that story would've been dark. Can't wait to see what happens next.
