OHKUBO Atsushi

Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.

Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.

We are finally starting to get some answers !!

I love the stage of a story where the scale starts to tip from getting more answers than questions, and I feel like this volume was that for me. I loved seeing more Sho in this book, and seeing him and Shinra together made my bitter, jaded heart a little happier.

Amazing, as usual. Every time I return to it I'm reminded that this is my favorite anime / manga no matter how many different ones I read / watch.

4/5 Stars (%76/100)

It was pretty good in general. The pillars continue to appear and this pillar's protector is Raffles I himself (it's the guy who founded Tokyo and pretty much everything). Shinra faces him as a Hero (as many believe) but the people of Tokyo continue to see him as a Devil. We also learn more about Mari Kusakabe and the past of Sho and Shinra. The ending was great and I am actually excited about the next volume.

We finally learn more about Shirna's and Sho's Mother and while it is not much and the idea of both of them being a Virgin birth is kind of weird. But the explanation they do give is actually interesting. The idea that Shinra and Sho are born from the collective unconsciousness and are meant to represent heroes to oppose the Evangelist is actually pretty clever and fits with the themes of the series. Also it was really sweet to see the brothers come together and while I wished it lasted longer and the fact Shinra got to battle the founder of the Sol Temple as opposing ideas of heroes was interesting to see.

Awesome.

This volume has it all in terms of character story, we saw something in the previous volume but this one expanded on it and they even show us Mari Kusakabe (too on the nose with that name hahaha). I liked the story a lot, it was fast-paced and didn't waste time with unnecessary things.

It's always a good thing to see my man Ogun, can't wait to see him in action. The last couple of chapters were really good and the Evangelist's plans was kinda straight forward but very effective.

Overall, fast-paced, action-packed and good story, i don't need more.

Things have really started heating up in these last couple of volumes and this one was no exception. Missing pieces and mysteries are starting to come to light as the beginning of the conclusion starts.

This one is amazing. The connections to Soul Eater, the lore, Sho coming back, all the revelations about what exactly is Shinra, what is really happening and ending with the beggining of the showdown.
Superb

I think it’s tragic that so many people won’t reach this part of the story, the writing is so incredible and so is the art style but the fan service is so bad it scares off the audience that will truly appreciate it

So Adolla is the collective imaginings of the human race. And the Great Cataclysm is when Adolla attempts to merge with the current reality of the world. Meaning whatever the masses believe will become the new reality. Glad that finally got explained.

Also Shinra is apparently the new Jesus. He's the hero who will save the world... until the White Clad people manipulate the world's perception of Shinra the same way J. Jonah Jameson does to Spider-Man.

But the final battles are upon us and it's time for the finale!

This series has 34 volumes.
